Description

The fad of going barefooted is growing in rapid strides throughout the warmer climate areas particularly, and the purpose of this invention is to provide a decoration for the bare foot of a person to at least partially eliminate the bareness of the foot and to provide a neatness of appearance to the feet of the user.

The principal objects of the invention are to provide a foot decoration wherein there is a loop for engaging over the toe, a decorative portion and a tie portion which may be quickly and easily applied to the foot.

Other objects and advantages of this invention will become apparent from the following description, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings wherein are set forth by way of illustration and example certain embodiments of this invention.

FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a foot decoration shown applied to the foot of the user and consists primarily of a chain decoration.

FIG. 2 is a perspective view of a modified form of the invention wherein the decorative portion is shown as three flowers or the like.

FIG. 3 is a perspective view of the decoration wherein the decorative portion consists of an elongated member.

Referring more in detail to the drawings:

The reference numeral 1 designates a decoration for the foot 2 of a person and in this view the decoration consists of metal chain or the like and includes a loop 3 engaged over the toe 4. The chain is of one piece and is secured together at 5 and 6 by a link or the like 7 and 8 so that two portions of the chain extend in parallel relation to each other as indicated at 9.

The end 10 of the chain extends around the ankle or just above the instep of the user and engaged at one end thereof is a ring 11 for engagement in a fastening ring 12 so secured to a ring 13 in the other free end 14 of the tie members. Also attached to the ring 11 are short chains 15 and 16 with rings 17 and 18 on the end to for additional decoration.

When positioning the decoration on the foot, the loop 3 is placed over the toe 4 of the user and an end of the tie member 10 is wrapped around the ankle of the wearer and the ring 11 secured to the fastening ring 12.

In FIG. 2 there is disclosed a decoration made of fabric cord material or the like and the loop being the same in all three figures they are numbered the same. The decorative portions are also numbered the same in the three figures. In FIG. 2 the decorative portion is provided with a plurality of flowers or the like as indicated at 19 and are artificial flowers made of suitable material such as yarn or the like. As many flowers as desired can be placed on the decorative portion. The fastening means 20 in FIG. 2 consists of the free ends of the cord like material, the end 21 being longer than the other end and is wrapped around the ankle and tied in a bow knot as indicated at 22, thus further tending to decorate the foot.

In FIG. 3 there is shown a still further modified form of decoration which consists of a beaded portion 23 with yarn material as indicated at 24 as side decorations. Any suitable material may be used in this particular type of decorative portion. The fastening means includes a longer end of the cord member 25 wrapped around the ankle and tied also in a know to the shorter member 26 as indicated at 27. The beaded portion 23 may be formed of a suitable plastic having decorative material, such as tinsel, formed therein whereby the foot decoration is particularly adapted for feminine wear.

The foot decoration has been worn by the inventor and has created considerable attention. It is obvious that it does enhance the appearance of a barefoot.

It is to be understood that while I have illustrated and described certain forms of this invention, it is not to be limited to these forms or arrangement of parts herein described and shown. Leather, plastic or any suitable material may be used.
