DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0027] A backpack assembly 100 of an embodiment according to the
present invention is illustrated in FIG. 1 and FIG. 2 and includes
a carrying accessory 1 and a bag body 2 (shown in FIG. 14), wherein
the carrying accessory 1 is adapted to be engaged with the bag body
2 and includes a back plate 10, a bag strap 20, and a waistband
30.
[0028] The back plate 10 has a first engaging portion 12 and a
second engaging portion 14, which are opposite to each other,
wherein the first engaging portion 12 is adapted to be engaged with
the bag body 2. In addition, the back plate 10 has a middle portion
16 located between the first engaging portion 12 and the second
engaging portion 14, wherein the middle portion 16 has one or more
first connecting hole 16a. In the current embodiment, the middle
portion 16 has at least two first connecting holes 16a, wherein one
of the first connecting holes 16a is disposed closer to the upper
first engaging portion 12 than the second engaging portion 14,
while another first connecting hole 16a is disposed closer to the
lower second engaging portion 14 than the first engaging portion
12. However, in other embodiments, the number of the first
connecting hole could be three or more than three. Preferably, each
of the first connecting holes is arranged at intervals in a
longitudinal direction of the back plate 10.
[0029] As shown in FIG. 2 to FIG. 4, in the current embodiment, the
back plate 10 has a first surface 10a and a second surface 10b,
wherein the first surface 10a faces a user, and the second surface
10b faces the bag body 2. Preferably, in the current embodiment, a
middle portion 16 of the first surface 10a forms a first bulging
portion 17a, and a plurality of second bulging portions 17b are
respectively formed on two lateral sides of the middle portion 16.
For instance, as shown in FIG. 3, there are three second bulging
portions 17b formed on each of two laterals sides of the middle
portion 16, and a groove 17c is formed between each two adjacent
second bulging portions 17b, and between an outer peripheral
portion of the back plate 10 and the second bulging portions 17b,
and between the first bulging portion 17a and the second bulging
portions 17b, and between the outer peripheral portion of the back
plate 10 and the first bulging portion 17a. With such design, when
the user carries on the backpack assembly, the bulging portions and
the grooves 17c between the user's back and the back plate 10
facilitate ventilation and heat dissipation, so that the user's
back could feel more comfortable. Additionally, in the current
embodiment, a first recessing portion 17d is formed on the second
surface 10b at a position corresponding to the first bulging
portion 17a, and a second recessing portion 17e is formed on the
second surface 10b at a position corresponding to each of the
second bulging portions 17b, so that the back plate 10 could be
more light weight.
[0030] The bag strap 20 has two shoulder straps 22 and a first
connecting strap 24, wherein a first fastening member 23 is
disposed on each of the shoulder straps 22. The first connecting

and the back plate 10. In the current embodiment, the bag strap 20
further includes a strap body 21 connected to the shoulder straps
22 and the first connecting strap 24.
[0031] As shown in FIG. 2, FIG. 3, FIG. 5, and FIG. 6, a first
adhesive portion 18 is disposed on the middle portion 16 of the
back plate 10 or is disposed on the entire first surface 10a of the
back plate 10. The bag strap 20 has a first surface 20a facing the
user and a second surface 20b facing the back plate 10. A second
adhesive portion 26 is disposed on the second surface 20b, and
could be detachably engaged with the first adhesive portion 18. For
instance, the first adhesive portion 18 could be a loop fastener,
and the second adhesive portion 26 could be a hook fastener.
Alternatively, in an embodiment, one of the first adhesive portion
18 and the second adhesive portion 26 could be a fastener, and the
other one could be made of a material that could be attached to the
fastener.
[0032] As shown in FIG. 7 to FIG. 9, when the bag strap 20 is to be
engaged with the back plate 10, the second surface 20b of the bag
strap 20 is directed toward the first surface 10a of the back plate
10 first, and the first connecting strap 24 is penetrated through
one of the first connecting holes 16a and is penetrated through the
second surface 10b of the back plate 10. After that, the first
connecting strap 24 is penetrated through another first connecting
hole 16 of the back plate 10 and is penetrated through the first
surface 10a of the back plate 10 to be engaged with the bag strap
20. As shown in FIG. 8, in an embodiment, an engaging member 27 is
disposed on the strap body 21, and the first connecting strap 24
passing through the another first connecting hole 16 could be
engaged with the engaging member 27, wherein the engaging member 27
could be, but not limited to, a release buckle, a snap button, a
snap hook, a webbing buckle, a three way buckle, a fastener, a
clasp, or etc. It is noted that, a position that the bag strap 20
engaged with the back plate 10 could be adjusted to meet various
requirements. For instance, as shown in FIG. 7, the bag strap 20 is
engaged with the back plate 10 at a middle position of the back
plate 10, and is fixed on the back plate 10 accordingly by engaging
the second adhesive portion 26 on the bag strap 20 and the first
adhesive portion 18 on the back plate 10. Alternatively, as shown
in FIG. 8, the bag strap 20 is engaged with the back plate 10 at an
upper position of the back plate 10. However, in other embodiments,
the bag strap 20 could be engaged with the back plate 10 at a lower
position of the back plate 10 close to the lower first connecting
hole 16a.
[0033] In the current embodiment, a pair of engaging members 28a,
28b which could be engaged with each other is further disposed on
the shoulder straps 22, so that when the user wears the bag strap
20, the engaging members 28a, 28b could be engaged with each other
to stably provide the shoulder straps 22 on the user's
shoulders.
[0034] As shown in FIG. 2 and FIG. 10, the waistband 30 is engaged
with the second engaging portion 14 of the back plate 10 and is
connected to the first fastening members 23 on the bag strap 20. In
the current embodiment, the waistband 30 has a pocket 32 for
receiving the second engaging portion 14 of the back plate 10. A
pair of engaging members 34a, 34b is disposed on two lateral sides
of the waistband 30 respectively, wherein the engaging members 34a,
34b could be engaged with each other, so that the waistband 30
forms a circle surrounding the user's waist. In addition, two
second fastening members 36 are disposed on the waistband 30 for
being detachably engaged with the first fastening members 23 on the
bag strap 20 respectively, so that the shoulder straps 22 could be
carried by the user. With such design, when the waistband 30 is
fixed on the user's waist, the waistband 30 could provide a
corresponding supporting force to the back plate 10.
[0035] As shown in FIG. 11 to FIG. 13, in the current embodiment, a
second connecting hole 14a is disposed on the second engaging
portion 14, and a second connecting strap 38 is disposed on the
waistband 30. When the second engaging portion 14 of the back plate
10 is received into the pocket 32, the second connecting strap 38
is penetrated through the second connecting hole 14a and is fixed,
thereby to engage the back plate 10 and the waistband 30,
preventing the second engaging portion 14 of the back plate 10
being disengaged from the pocket 32. Preferably, an engaging member
38a is disposed on the second connecting strap 38, and an engaging
portion 39 is disposed on the waistband 30, so that when the second
connecting strap 38 passes through the second connecting hole 14a,
the second connecting strap 38 could be fixed by engaging the
engaging member 38a and the engaging portion 39. For instance, the
engaging member 38a could be a fastener, and the engaging portion
39 could be another relative fastener, so that the engaging member
38a could be detachably engaged with the engaging portion 39. It is
noted that, in the current embodiment, the engaging portion 39 is
disposed on an interlayer inside the pocket 32, which provides a
better appearance. In addition, since the second connecting strap
38 is engaged with the engaging portion 39 inside the pocket 32, a
possibility that the engaging member 38a of the second connecting
strap 38 being unexpectedly disengaged from the engaging portion 39
could be reduced.
[0036] As shown in FIG. 14 and FIG. 15, while using the backpack
assembly 100 of the present invention, the back plate 10 is engaged
with the bag body 2. For instance, in an embodiment, the bag body 2
has an engaging pocket 3, and the first engaging portion 12 of the
back plate 10 could be received into the engaging pocket 3, so that
when the user carries the carrying accessory 1, the carrying
accessory 1 could hold the bag body 2 via the first engaging
portion 12 of the back plate 10. In addition, when the user wants
to change different types of bag body 2 (e.g. bag body with
different functions or different capacities), the bag body 2 could
be changed by simply taking out the first engaging portion 12 of
the back plate 10 from the engaging pocket 3 of the bag body 2,
which is quick and convenient. Moreover, to further enhance the
engaging stability between the back plate 10 and the bag body 2, a
plurality of engaging rings 4 could be disposed on the bag body 2,
and a plurality of engaging holes 19 could be disposed on two
lateral sides of the back plate 10, so that the user could connect
the engaging rings 4 and the engaging holes 19 by using an engaging
member such as ropes, engaging straps, ring fasteners, or etc.,
strengthening an engaging performance between the back plate 10 and
the bag body 2.
[0037] As shown in FIG. 16 and FIG. 17, in an embodiment, the back
plate 10 could be engaged with the bag body 2 singly. For instance,
by using an engaging strap 40 to penetrate through at least one of
the engaging holes 19 on the same side of the back plate 10 and at
least one of the engaging rings 4 on the corresponding side of the
bag body 2 first, and the engaging strap 40 is fixed via an
engaging member 6 such as, but not limited to, a release buckle, a
snap button, a snap hook, a webbing buckle, a three way buckle, a
fastener, a clasp, a belt buckle, or etc. In this way, the user
could carry the back plate 10 and the bag body 2 via the engaging
strap 40. In other words, the backpack becomes a hand-carry
backpack, providing various ways of use. Additionally, the other
side of the back plate 10 and the corresponding side of the bag
body 2 could be engaged by using another engaging strap 41.
However, the engaging member is not limited by the aforementioned
design, but could be other engaging members such as a ring fastener
or etc. to engage the engaging holes 19 of the back plate 10 and
the engaging rings 4 of the bag body 2.
[0038] As shown in FIG. 18, in another embodiment according to the
present invention, two first engaging portions 7a are disposed on
an upper half portion of a bag body 7, and two positioning holes
19a are disposed on the back plate 10, and a second engaging
portion 22a is disposed on each of the shoulder straps 22 of the
bag strap 20. In the current embodiment, each of the first engaging
portions 7a is a ring, and each of the second engaging portions 22a
is a ring fastener connected to the shoulder straps 22. When the
back plate 10 is erected, the first engaging portions 7a are
disposed in a same horizontal direction of the bag body 7, and the
positioning holes 19a are disposed in a same horizontal direction
of the back plate 10. During the process of assembling, the two
first engaging portions 7a could be respectively penetrated through
the two positioning holes 19a first, and the second engaging
portions 22a are respectively and detachably engaged with the first
engaging portions 7a. In this way, when the user wears the shoulder
straps 22, the second engaging portions 22a hold the first engaging
portion 7a, so that the bag body 7 could be positioned on a rear
side of the back plate 10. However, the structures of the first
engaging portion and the second engaging portion are not limited by
the aforementioned design, but could be other engaging members such
as a pair of connecting buckles, a pair of belt buckles, male and
female buckles, hook and loop fasteners, or other equivalent
structures. In other embodiments, when the back plate 10 is
erected, two positioning holes 19a are disposed in each of a
plurality of horizontal directions of the back plate 10, and the
positioning holes 19a in different horizontal directions are
arranged at intervals in a longitudinal direction of the back plate

fourth engaging portions 30a could be detachably engaged. However,
in other embodiments, the third engaging portions 7b and the fourth
engaging portions 30a could be other engaging members such as a
pair of connecting buckles, a pair of belt buckles, male and female
buckles, hook and loop fasteners, or other equivalent
structures.
[0040] In summary, with the backpack assembly, the carrying
accessory, and the back plate of the present invention, the user
not only could easily change different bag bodies with different
functions, different capacities, or different sizes, but also could
carry the bag body in various ways (e.g. as a backpack or as a
hand-carry bag).
[0041] It must be pointed out that the embodiments described above
are only some preferred embodiments of the present invention. All
equivalent structures which employ the concepts disclosed in this
specification and the appended claims should fall within the scope
of the present invention.
