Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
1. Field of the Invention
[0001] The invention relates to core of bowling ball, and
particularly relates to a core of bowling ball with rotating
disk.
2. Description of the Prior Art
[0002] Ten-pin bowling is a type of bowling in which a bowler rolls
a bowling ball down wood or synthetic lane toward ten-pins
positioned in a Tetractys (equilateral triangle-based pattern) at
the far end of the lane. The goal of this sport is to knock down
the pins. In the bowling ball, there are three holes, allowing the
ball holders to insert their finger into the ball while holding the
ball. The weight of the ball differs from the ball holder. Many
countries held professional bowling tournaments, and about a
million people around the world goes bowling.
[0003] In bowling, the most common skills are "straight", "hook"
and "flying saucer" (UFO, helicopter, spinning). The "straight" is
a skill suitable for a beginner. The track of the "straight" is a
straight line on the lanes, and the direction of rotation of the
ball is the same as the moving direction of the ball. Next, "Hook"
has batter power than "straight". The starting trajectory of "hook"
is identical as the "straight", but the trajectory of "hook" would
be shifting left when the ball closes the pins. Last, "flying
saucer" is expertise to Taiwan players and invented by Taiwan
pro-player. The trajectory of "flying saucer" is the same as the
"straight", but the direction of rotation of the "flying saucer" is
horizontal. Thus, the "flying saucer" has batter power than
"straight" and "hook".
[0004] The "flying saucer" can increase the chance of all down by
utilizing the technique of the rotation of the wrist to apply
lateral force to the ball, it can make the ball rotate
horizontally. When the pins contact the ball, the lateral force
would knock the pins. Then, the knocked pins can knock down other
pins and cause all down.
[0005] The all down made by the "flying saucer" is considered
"lucky all down", however, it is not approved internationally,
especially in Korea, the "flying saucer" is prohibited to practice
for pro-players. According to the study of American Bowling
University, the correct knocked down must be like the domino
effect, between the ball and the pins should calculate logically
with certain rules and have consistency.
[0006] Although the "flying saucer" can increase the chance of all
down, however it can cause sport injuries, especially the swelling
of the wrist and joint, due to the non-ergonomic technique of
wrist. Besides, the physiological structure is different, the
Asians are easy to learn the "flying saucer". On the contrary,
Afros and Caucasians cannot use the "flying saucer".
[0007] In summary, it is worth considering to a person having
ordinary skills in the art on how to overcome the above-mentioned
question. Let the player easier to use the "flying saucer" without
causing sports injuries and everyone can handle "flying
saucer".

DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0020] This invention could easily apply the "flying saucer" though
a core of bowling ball with a rotating disk that transforms the
vertical force into horizontal force.
[0021] Please refer to FIG. 1A. FIG. 1A shows an exploded view of
the core of bowling ball of the instant application. The core of
bowling ball 100 is covered on a ball 10. The core of bowling ball
100 includes a rotating disk 130, a center bearing 120, a finger
hole bar 110 and a plurality of joint pole 140. The center bearing
120 is disposed on the center of the rotating disk 130. The finger
hole bar 110 is linked to the center bearing 120. The joint poles
140 are passed through the center bearing 120 and contacted with a
bottom bearing 150 of bottom of the ball 10. In other word, the
rotating disk 130 is linked to the outside of the center bearing
120. The finger hole bar 110 is embedded into the inside of the
center bearing 120. Thus, the rotating disk 130 and finger hole bar
110 can rotate respectively and freely. In this embodiment, the
finger hole bar 110 and center bearing 120 are disposed on the
center axis of the ball 10. The one end of the finger hole bar 110
is flushed with surface of ball 10. The finger hole bar 110 further
includes a finger hole 11. The finger hole 11 is disposed in the
surface of ball 10. Further explanation, the location of the finger
hole 11 must be disposed on the center axis of the ball 10.
[0022] The joint pole 140 are passed through the rotating disk 130
and disposed on the radial direction of the rotating disk 130. The
long side of the joint pole 140 is vertical with the radial
direction of the rotating disk 130. Please refer to FIG. 1B. FIG.
1B shows a schematic diagram of the rotating disk. The rotating
disk 130 further includes a plurality of gasket 132 and joint pole
bearing 131. The joint pole bearing 131 are disposed between the
joint pole 140 and the rotating disk 130. The joint pole bearing
131 is disposed on the location where the joint pole 140 penetrates
the rotating disk 130. The gasket 132 disposed between the rotating
disk 130 and ball 10, and the joint pole 140 is passed through the
gasket 132.
[0023] Please refer to FIG. 1C. FIG. 1C shows side view of the core
of the bowling ball. The length of the joint pole 140 is enough to
link to the ball 10. Thus, when the rotating disk 130 rotates, the
rotating disk 130 can make the ball 10 to rotate via the joint pole
140. The joint pole 140 is disposed vertically with rotating disk
130. Therefore, when the rotating disk 130 drives the ball 10, the
torque of the ball 10 can be promoted. In addition, all components
of the ball 10 and the core of ball 10 are non-metallic materials
to compliant with international bowling regulations. In some
embodiment, components of the ball 10 and the core of bowling ball
100 are made by Polyurethane or Ultra High Molecular Weight
Polyethylene (UPE). It also can be made by materials mixed by cork
and reinforced rubber, and the outside is covered by hard rubber,
plastic or glass fiber.
[0024] In addition, in some embodiment, the core of bowling ball
100 further includes a bottom bearing 150. The bottom bearing 150
is disposed on relative position of the finger hole 11, which is
the bottom of the ball 10. The core of bowling ball 100 is disposed
in the ball 10. The rotating of the finger hole bar 110 can be more
stable because the bottom bearing 150 is disposed on the bottom of
the ball 10.
[0025] Please refer to FIG. 2. FIG. 2 shows bowling rolling
schematic diagram. When the player pitch via the finger hole 11,
the ball 10 will roll towards direction 21. At this time, because
of the center bearing 120 is disposed between the rotation disk 130
and the finger hole bar 110, the rotation disk 130 would be
affected to rotate by the kinetic energy of pitching. The center
bearing 120 provides tiny resistance, so the rotation disk 130
would rotate towards direction 22 substantially. Next, the rotation
of the rotation disk 130 would transmit the kinetic energy of
direction 22 to the ball 10 via joint pole 140. Therefore, the ball
10 would also rotate towards direction 22, and the "flying saucer"
is produced.
[0026] Therefore, the player pitches "flying saucer" with normal
technique without using the special technique on the wrist.
Besides, the core of bowling ball 100 is a central component in the
bowling ball. The ball 10 can be manufactured by a normal method
(E. g resin infusion) with the core of bowling ball 100.
[0027] According to Newton's first law, the objects in motion
always keep constant velocity linear motion, the stationary object
always keep stationary. In the instant application, the kinetic
energy of vertical roll produced by pitching can be transformed
into kinetic energy of horizontal roll, and the ball 10 can keep
linear movement. The player just normally pitches the bowling ball
then the "flying saucer" is produced, no longer needed special
technique on the wrist. Moreover, the "flying saucer" would not be
limited by Physiological Structure and Ergonomics. Everyone can use
and enjoy the "flying saucer" with the core of bowling ball 100 of
the instant application. It also can reduce sports injuries of the
"flying saucer" and increase the entertainment of the bowling
ball.
[0028] Those skilled in the art will readily observe that numerous
modifications and alternatives of the device and method may be made
while retaining the teachings of the invention. Accordingly, the
above disclosure should be construed as limited only by the meters
and bounds of the appended claims.
