particular, the present disclosure relates to a board game set in
which playing boards may be coupled to or decoupled from each other
and a building-miniature is fixed to a playing board during
gameplay.
2. DESCRIPTION OF RELATED ART
[0003] In a board game, while a player piece or a card is disposed
on a playing board, a game proceeds according to a certain rule.
The board game may include various kinds of games. Among them, in a
marble game, a player piece moves on the playing board by a sum of
the numbers of two dice as thrown, and an action corresponding to a
section at which the player piece has arrived is taken. Each of the
sections along which the player piece moves may correspond to a
capital of each country. A national certificate indicating an
ownership of a corresponding area contains simple information about
the area.
[0004] A board game set for playing such a board game includes a
playing board and a player piece. The playing board usually
includes a rectangular playing board. However, the conventional
board game set has a bulky playing board and takes up a lot of
storage space. Further, in the conventional board game set, a
building miniature is placed on the playing board. Accordingly, the
building miniature is not fixed on the playing board, so that when
the playing board is impacted during the game, the building
miniature moves or falls down from the playing board.
DISCLOSURE
Technical Purposes
[0005] A purpose of the present disclosure is to provide a board
game set with a building-miniature fixed on a playing board.
[0006] Further, another purpose of the present disclosure is to
provide a board game set in which various games may be operated on
a single board game via exchange between various section-defining
plates.
Technical Solutions
[0007] In one aspect of the present disclosure, there is provided a
board game set comprising: a playing board having a top face
divided into a plurality of sections; a building miniature having a
groove defined in a bottom face thereof, wherein the building
miniature is fixable to the board; and a building miniature-fixing

covering a top face of the elongate body; and an elongate
section-defining plate removably inserted between the elongate body
and the elongate cover, wherein the elongate section-defining plate
has a top face divided into a plurality of sections.
[0009] In one embodiment, the building miniature-fixing protrusion
is formed on the elongate cover, wherein a slit is defined in the
building miniature-fixing protrusion.
[0010] In one embodiment, the building miniature-fixing protrusion
includes a plurality of building miniature-fixing protrusions
spaced apart from each other, wherein a projection is formed on an
inner face of each building miniature-fixing protrusion in the
slit, wherein the projection protrudes horizontally from the inner
face of each building miniature-fixing protrusion, and each
building miniature-fixing protrusion protrudes vertically from a
top face of the cover.
[0011] In one embodiment, the projection is formed on one or the
other of both facing-away inner faces of each building
miniature-fixing protrusion in the slit. In one embodiment, the
projections are sequentially arranged in a staggered manner along
the plurality of building miniature-fixing protrusions.
Technical Effects
[0012] According to the present disclosure, the transparent
elongate cover may allow the elongate section-defining plate to be
viewable to a user. Further, the protrusion inserted into the
building miniature may be formed on the transparent elongate cover.
Thus, the building miniature does not easily deviate from the
playing board even when the user changes an orientation of the
playing board from a horizontal direction to a vertical direction
or when the playing board is impacted during the game.
[0013] Further, according to the present disclosure, various games
may be operated on a single board game via exchange between various
section-defining plates.

DETAILED DESCRIPTIONS
[0020] Hereinafter, an embodiment of the present disclosure will be
described in detail with reference to the drawings.
[0021] However, the present disclosure is not limited to the
embodiment disclosed below, but may be embodied in various forms.
The embodiment is merely provided to allow the present disclosure
to be complete, and to fully illustrate the scope of the present
disclosure to those skilled in the art. Like reference numerals
refer to like elements throughout the drawings.
[0022] FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a board game set according
to the present disclosure. FIG. 2 is a perspective view of a
playing board of a board game set according to the present
disclosure.
[0023] The board game set according to the present disclosure
includes a playing board assembly 100 having a plurality of boards,
each board having multiple sections as shown in FIG. 1; a plurality
of player pieces 200 moving between the plurality of sections, a
building miniature 300 fixedly disposed on at least one of the
plurality of sections, and a money piece 400 required for a board
game. Further, the board game set may further include a national
certificate as awarded when purchasing a country section and
marking a toll thereon, and special cards indicating various
events. Further, the game set may include a die (not shown) for
determining the number of sections along which the player piece
moves based on a play order. In one example, the die may include a
general die of a hexahedron. Alternative, an electronic die that
displays a corresponding natural number from 1 to 6 when a
corresponding button thereof is pressed.
[0024] The playing board assembly 100 is configured for playing a
board game. The playing board assembly 100 has a shape of a square
frame in a plan view, and a plurality of sections is displayed on a
top face thereof. The playing board assembly 100 includes a first
elongate playing board 110, a second elongate playing board 120
connected to the first elongate playing board 110, and a third
elongate playing board 130 connected to the second elongate playing
board 120, and a fourth elongate playing board 140 connected to the
third elongate playing board 130 and the first elongate playing
board 110. In this connection, the first elongate playing board 110
and the second elongate playing board 120, the third elongate
playing board 130 and the fourth elongate playing board 140
according to the present disclosure have the same shape. Further,
the second elongate playing board 120 includes a second elongate
body 121, a second elongate cover 122 and a second elongate
section-defining plate 123. The third elongate playing board 130
includes a third elongate body 131, a third elongate cover 132, and
a third elongate section-defining plate 133. Further, the fourth
elongate playing board 140 includes a fourth elongate body 141, a
fourth elongate cover 142 and a fourth elongate section-defining
plate 143. Therefore, the first elongate playing board 110 will be
mainly described below. However, the first elongate
section-defining plate 113 in the first elongate playing board 110
to be described later may be different from each of the second
elongate section-defining plate 123, the third elongate
section-defining plate 123, and the fourth elongate
section-defining plate 143 respectively belonging to the second
elongate playing board 120, the third elongate playing board 130
and the fourth elongate playing board 140.
[0025] FIG. 2 is a perspective view of a playing board of a board
game set according to the present disclosure. FIG. 2 is an exploded
perspective view of a first playing board of the board game set
according to the present disclosure. FIG. 3 is a perspective view
illustrating a combination of a first playing board and a fourth
playing board in the board game set according to the present
disclosure. FIG. 4 is an exploded perspective view illustrating a
coupling between first to fourth playing boards in the board game
set according to the present disclosure.
[0026] The first elongate playing board 110 is a unit constituting
a playing board assembly 100. As shown in FIG. 2, the first
elongate playing board 110 includes a first elongate body 111, a
first elongate cover 112 covering a top of the first elongate body
111, and a first section-defining plate 113 disposed between the
first elongate body 111 and the first elongate cover 112.
[0027] The first elongate body 111 is embodied as a hollow
rectangular box, and has a flat top surface and a flat bottom
surface. Further, a first elongate body hook-receiving groove 111b
is formed in a top edge of the first elongate body 111 to be
engaged with a first elongate cover hook 112b of the first elongate
cover 112. In this connection, the first elongate body
hook-receiving groove 111b may include at least one groove defined
along the top edge of the first elongate body 111. Accordingly, the
number of the first elongate cover hooks 112b is increased or
decreased in a corresponding manner to the number of the first
elongate body hook-receiving grooves 111b. Further, the first
elongate body 111 has a first elongate body protrusion 111a and
first elongate body groove (having the same shape as a component
141c in FIG. 3) such that the first elongate body 111 is combined
with adjacent elongate bodies. The first elongate body protrusion
111a is engaged with a groove in a first adjacent elongate body,
while the first elongate body groove is engaged with a protrusion
of a second adjacent elongate body. For example, referring to FIG.
3 and FIG. 4, the first elongate body protrusion 111a is joined
with a fourth elongate body groove, while the first elongate body
groove is engaged with the second elongate body protrusion.
[0028] In one example, a magnet may be provided on an inner face of
the groove of the first elongate body 111 and in an interior of the
first elongate body protrusion 111a. Further, although not shown, a
magnet may be provided on an inner face of the second elongate body
groove and in the second elongate body protrusion. Further,
although not shown, a magnet may be provided on an inner face of
the third elongate body groove and in the third elongate body
protrusion. Further, although not shown, a magnet may be provided
on an inner face of the fourth elongate body groove and in the
fourth elongate body protrusion. In this case, a coupling force
between the elongate body groove and the elongate body protrusion
as paired is increased by the magnetic force. That is, a coupling
force between the first elongate playing board 110 and the second
elongate playing board 120, and a coupling force between the third
elongate playing board 130 and the fourth elongate playing board
140 may be increased. Further, a special mark receiving groove may
be formed along an edge of the first elongate body 111. In this
connection, the special mark is allocated to a country section
owned by a single player. Thus, when the other player arrives at
the country section where the special mark is allocated, a toll may
be increased by a multiple of an indicated number thereon and may
be imposed to the other player.
[0029] FIG. 5A and FIG. 5B are perspective views showing a building
miniature fastened to a building miniature-fixing protrusion in a
board game set according to the present disclosure.
[0030] The first elongate cover 112 is disposed on a top surface of
the first elongate body 111 so that the first elongate
section-defining plate 113 may be provided between the first
elongate body 111 and the first elongate cover 112. The first
elongate cover 112 is formed to align with the first elongate body
111. Further, the first elongate cover 112 is formed of a
transparent material so that the section of the first elongate
section-defining plate 113 may be viewed to the user through the
first elongate cover 112. Accordingly, the first elongate
section-defining plate 113 is visible through the first elongate
cover 112. Thus, in one example, a slit or protruding line formed
on a top surface of the first elongate cover 112 defines a boundary
dividing the first elongate section-defining plate 113 into
sections. The player piece 200 moves on and along the top surface
of first elongate cover 112. The building miniature 300 is placed
on a top face of the cover 112. As shown in FIG. 5A, a fixing
protrusion 112a is formed on a top face of the first elongate cover
112. Thus, the fixing protrusion 112a is inserted into a recess
formed in a bottom face of the building miniature 300 to prevent
the building miniature 300 from being easily detached from the
first elongate cover 112. The first building
miniature-fixing-protrusion 112a may include two rectangular
protrusions separated from each other, each protrusion has a
rectangular shape as a whole as shown in FIG. 5A. However, the
present disclosure is not limited thereto. Two semicircular
protrusions may be spaced apart from each other, or two elliptical
protrusions may be spaced apart from each other, or two polygon
protrusions may be spaced apart from each other, to define the
first building miniature-fixing-protrusion 112a. In a marble game
as illustrated by way of example in this embodiment, at least three
building miniatures may be allocated to one section (one country
section). Thus, as shown in FIG. 5B, three first building
miniature-fixing-protrusions 112a are formed for each section, each
section being defined by a border corresponding to a slit or
protruding line. The present disclosure is not limited thereto. The
number of the first building miniature-fixing-protrusions 112a for
each section may vary according to game rules. In this connection,
the building miniature according to the present disclosure may be
embodied as a thin card form in addition to a three-dimension type
as shown in FIG. 5A. In this case, the first building
miniature-fixing-protrusion 112a, as shown in FIG. 5B, may have a
slit formed in the first building miniature-fixing-protrusion 112a.
Thus, the card-shaped building miniature 300 may be inserted and
fixed in the corresponding slit. In this case, the slit width in
the first building miniature-fixing-protrusion 112a is shown as
large in FIG. 5B. This is only for convenience of illustration of a
configuration of the slit. However, the actual slit is formed to be
narrow enough to allow the card-shaped building miniature from
being fitted into the slit and thus to be prevented from being
separated from the slit. That is, the slit width in the first
building miniature-fixing-protrusion 112a is sized to be smaller
than a thickness of the card-shaped building miniature. Further, a
projection e is formed on an inner face of the protrusion 112a in
the slit. As shown in FIG. 5B, the projections e are arranged in a
zigzag form along a plurality of first building
miniature-fixing-protrusions 112a so that the card-shaped building
miniature is more tightly fitted into the slit. Further, the first
elongate cover 112 has the number of first elongate cover hooks
112b corresponding to the number of the first elongate body
hook-receiving grooves 111b as described above. Each hook 112b may
extend downward from an edge of the first elongate cover 112.
Accordingly, the first elongate cover 112 is fastened to a top edge
of the first elongate body 111 while a space for receiving the
first elongate section-defining plate is formed between the top
surface of the first elongate body 111 and the bottom surface of
the first elongate cover 112.
[0031] FIG. 6 is a perspective view of a first playing board for
illustrating a first elongate section-defining plate in a board
game set according to the present disclosure.
[0032] The first elongate section-defining plate 113 is inserted
into the first elongate section-defining plate insert space formed
between the top face of the first elongate body 111 and a bottom
face of the first elongate cover 112, as shown in FIG. 6. The first
elongate section-defining plate 113 has a shape corresponding to a
shape of the top surface of the first elongate body 111 in the plan
view. A thickness of the plate 113 is preferably sized to a size of
a paper, so that the plate 113 may be inserted into the first
elongate section-defining plate insertion space formed between the
top face of the first elongate body 111 and a bottom face of the
first elongate cover 112. Further, a plurality of sections are
displayed on the top surface of the first elongate section-defining
plate 113. The plurality of sections may include a plurality of
first country sections and at least one or more first special
sections.
[0033] The first country section displays each of various
countries. In one example, the first elongate section-defining
plate 113 displays Bangkok, Beijing, Dokdo, Taipei, Dubai, and
Cairo listed as a national section. These country sections display
sales prices of the countries together with the name of the
country.
[0034] The first special section refers to a section in which a
special event occurs and which is different than the first country
section. This embodiment illustrates a start section and a bonus
game section as the first special section.
[0035] The start section is defined only in the first elongate
section-defining plate 113. From the start section, all player
pieces 200 participating in the board game depart. That is, all
player pieces 200 are placed on the start section before the board
game starts. When the player piece 200 has passed all of the first
elongate section-defining plate 113, the second elongate
section-defining plate 123, the third elongate section-defining
plate 133, and the fourth elongate section-defining plate 133 and
then arrived at the start section, the corresponding player piece
200 may receive a money piece 400 of a predetermined amount.
[0036] The bonus game section allows the player who arrives at the
bonus game section to perform a bonus game. For this purpose, a
separate bonus playing board may be provided. This bonus playing
board may be, for example, a rotatable board. Further, the bonus
playing board may display thereon various instructions that affect
a game progress of other players, or a player playing a bonus game,
such as, for example, rolling a die once, getting a money piece
from a bank, etc. The bonus game section may be displayed between
the start section and the country section, or between the country
sections.
[0037] The second elongate section-defining plate 123 is provided
on the top face of the first elongate body 111. Various sections
such as country sections are displayed on the second elongate
section-defining plate 123. Accordingly, a plurality of second
country sections and at least one second special sections are
displayed on the top face of the second elongate section-defining
plate 123.
[0038] The second country sections may include a number of country
sections. For example, the number of country sections may include
Bali, Tokyo, Sydney, Quebec, Hawaii and Sao Paulo.
[0039] The second special section refers to a section at which an
event occurs similarly to the first special section. In this
embodiment, the second special section illustrates an uninhabited
island section and a special card section.
[0040] The uninhabited island section prevents the player arriving
thereto from leaving the uninhabited island section for a
predetermined number of board game runs. In one example, in a
special circumstance, for example, a player in an uninhabited
island section might be able to get out of the uninhabited island
section immediately in a situation when the player rolling two dice
gets the same number therebetween.
[0041] The special card section allows a player who arrives at the
special card section to have a special card marked with a
predetermined event. In this connection, on the special card,
various events may be marked including an event at which the player
arriving at a country section owned by another player may not pay
for the toll corresponding to the country section owned by another
player, or an event at which the player sells a country section
with the highest selling price among the country sections owned by
the other players.
[0042] The third elongate section-defining plate 133 may display
thereon a third national section and a third special section
similarly to the first elongate section-defining plate 113 and the
second elongate section-defining plate 123 as described above. The
third elongate section-defining plate 133 may display thereon, Rome
and Geneva, Moscow, Berlin, Phuket and Prague.
[0043] The third special section includes the winner prize section.
The winner prize section pays the prize money to the player who has
the player piece arriving at that section. For example, a total
amount of taxes collected from players arriving at a national tax
office and including a corresponding player at arriving at the
third special section and other players may be provided to the
corresponding player arriving at the prize section as the third
special section.
[0044] The fourth elongate section-defining plate 143 displays,
thereon, a fourth country section and a fourth special section. In
this embodiment, the fourth elongate section-defining plate 143
displays, thereon, Seoul and New York, Paris, London and
Tahiti.
[0045] The fourth special section is displayed between the fourth
country sections. The fourth special section may include a national
tax office section, a special card section and a space travel
section. In this connection, the special card section is the same
as described above, so a description thereof will be omitted.
[0046] On the national tax office section, the player may pay for a
certain amount of tax. On the space travel section, the player who
arrives at this section may move a player piece thereof to a
desired section.
[0047] As described above, in accordance with the present
disclosure, a plurality of playing boards may be combined to form a
playing board assembly to reduce a storage volume when storing the
playing boards. Further, in accordance with the present disclosure,
an elongate section-defining plate may be replaced with another
elongate section-defining plate, so that a variety of games can be
implemented with a single game board. In accordance with the
present disclosure, the transparent elongate cover may allow the
elongate section-defining plate to be viewable to a user. Further,
the protrusion inserted into the building miniature may be formed
on the transparent elongate cover. Thus, the building miniature
does not easily deviate from the playing board even when the user
changes an orientation of the playing board from a horizontal
direction to a vertical direction or when the playing board is
impacted during the game.
[0048] It will be understood by those skilled in the art that
although the present disclosure has been described with reference
to the drawings and embodiments, various changes in form and
details may be made thereto without departing from the spirit and
scope of the present disclosure as defined by the appended claims.
That is, although the present disclosure is applied to the marble
game among the board games in the above-described embodiment, the
present disclosure is not limited thereto. The present disclosure
may be applied to a variety of board games that require a playing
board.
