Horizontally Pulled Exercising Device that is Stored Conveniently
and is Adapted to Function as Furniture
Abstract
An exercising device includes a cabinet, a pull board mounted on
the cabinet, and an exercise apparatus mounted in the cabinet and
connected with the pull board. The cabinet includes a top plate, a
back plate and two side plates. The cabinet has a receiving space
defined by the top plate, the back plate and the two side plates.
The receiving space has a side formed with an opening. The pull
board horizontally slides forward or backward relative to the
cabinet, to open or close the opening of the cabinet. The exercise
apparatus is received in the receiving space of the cabinet when
the pull board closes the opening of the cabinet, and is extended
outward from the receiving space of the cabinet when the pull board
opens the opening of the cabinet.

Claims
1. An exercising device comprising: a cabinet; a pull board mounted
on the cabinet; and an exercise apparatus mounted in the cabinet
and connected with the pull board; wherein: the cabinet includes a
top plate, a back plate and at least two side plates; the cabinet
has a receiving space defined by the top plate, the back plate and
the at least two side plates; the receiving space of the cabinet
has a side formed with an opening; the pull board is removably
mounted in the opening of the cabinet; the pull board horizontally
slides forward or backward relative to the cabinet, to open or
close the opening of the cabinet; the exercise apparatus has a side
assembled with the pull board; and the exercise apparatus is
received in the receiving space of the cabinet when the pull board
closes the opening of the cabinet, and is extended outward from the
receiving space of the cabinet when the pull board opens the
opening of the cabinet.
2. The exercising device of claim 1, further comprising:
corresponding slide tracks arranged between the cabinet and the
exercise apparatus; wherein the pull board slides forward or
backward relative to the opening of the cabinet by guidance of the
corresponding slide tracks.
3. The exercising device of claim 1, wherein the exercise apparatus
includes an electronic instrument mounted on the cabinet.
4. The exercising device of claim 1, wherein the exercising device
further comprises a shelf mounted on a top of the top plate of the
cabinet.
5. The exercising device of claim 1, wherein: the exercise
apparatus further includes a telescopically arranged handle
assembly; and when the pull board closes the opening of the
cabinet, the telescopically arranged handle assembly is received in
the receiving space of the cabinet.
6. The exercising device of claim 1, wherein: the back plate of the
cabinet is provided with an extension extending upward; and the
extension of the back plate is higher than the top plate of the
cabinet.
7. The exercising device of claim 1, further comprising: a seat
mounted on a top of the top plate of the cabinet and abutting the
extension of the back plate.
8. The exercising device of claim 2, wherein: the pull board is
provided with a bottom plate corresponding to the opening of the
cabinet and slidably mounted in the corresponding slide tracks; and
the bottom plate of the pull board is slidable on the corresponding
slide tracks, such that the pull board slides forward or backward
relative to the opening of the cabinet.
9. The exercising device of claim 1, wherein: the pull board is
further provided with an extension extending upward; and the
extension of the pull board is higher than the top plate of the
cabinet.
10. The exercising device of claim 1, wherein the pull board is
further provided with a foldable seat abutting the extension of the
pull board.
11. The exercising device of claim 1, wherein the exercise
apparatus is a stair stepper, a rowing machine, a pull exercise
machine, a treadmill or an exercise bike.
Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
1. Field of the Invention
[0001] The present invention relates to an exercising device and,
more particularly, to an exercising device that is pulled sideward
and horizontally.
2. Description of the Related Art
[0002] A conventional exercising device, such as a treadmill, a
step machine, an elliptic exercise machine or the like, is used in
the house to provide an exercising effect to the user. However, the
conventional exercising device has a determined volume and occupies
a larger space, such that it cannot be stored easily and
conveniently, thereby greatly causing inconvenience to the user in
storage of the exercising device. In addition, the conventional
exercising device has an outstanding appearance that cannot mate or
coordinate with that of the indoor appliances of the house.
Further, dust easily accumulates on the conventional exercising
device during a long period of time.
BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0003] The primary objective of the present invention is to provide
an exercising device that is stored easily and conveniently and is
adapted to function as furniture. The exercising device also has a
dustproof function.
[0004] In accordance with the present invention, there is provided
an exercising device comprising a cabinet, a pull board mounted on
the cabinet, and an exercise apparatus mounted in the cabinet and
connected with the pull board. The cabinet includes a top plate, a
back plate and at least two side plates. The cabinet has a
receiving space defined by the top plate, the back plate and the at
least two side plates. The receiving space of the cabinet has a
side formed with an opening. The pull board is removably mounted in
the opening of the cabinet. The pull board horizontally slides
forward or backward relative to the cabinet, to open or close the
opening of the cabinet. The exercise apparatus has a side assembled
with the pull board. The exercise apparatus is received in the
receiving space of the cabinet when the pull board closes the
opening of the cabinet, and is extended outward from the receiving
space of the cabinet when the pull board opens the opening of the
cabinet.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0034] Referring to the drawings and initially to FIGS. 1-4, an
exercising device in accordance with the preferred embodiment of
the present invention comprises a cabinet (or box) 1, a pull board
(or plate or plank) 50 mounted on the cabinet 1, and an exercise
apparatus 60 mounted in the cabinet 1 and connected with the pull
board 50.
[0035] The cabinet 1 includes a top plate 10, a back plate 20 and
at least two side plates 30. The cabinet 1 has a receiving space
101 defined by the top plate 10, the back plate 20 and the at least
two side plates 30. The receiving space 101 of the cabinet 1 has a
side formed with an opening (or entrance) 40. The opening 40 of the
cabinet 1 is disposed between the top plate 10 and the at least two
side plates 30, and located opposite to the back plate 20.
[0036] The pull board 50 is removably mounted in the opening 40 of
the cabinet 1. The pull board 50 horizontally slides forward or
backward relative to the cabinet 1, to open or close the opening 40
of the cabinet 1.
[0037] The exercise apparatus 60 has a side assembled with the pull
board 50. In practice, the exercise apparatus 60 is received in the
receiving space 101 of the cabinet 1 when the pull board 50 closes
the opening 40 of the cabinet 1, and is extended outward from the
receiving space 101 of the cabinet 1 when the pull board 50 opens
the opening 40 of the cabinet 1.
[0038] In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the
cabinet 1 is made of wood, plastics, iron, glass or the like.
[0039] In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the
exercise apparatus 60 is a stair stepper.
[0040] In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the
exercise apparatus 60 includes an electronic instrument 61 mounted
on the cabinet 1.
[0041] In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the
exercising device further comprises corresponding slide tracks 70
arranged between the cabinet 1 and the exercise apparatus 60. Thus,
the pull board 50 slides forward or backward relative to the
opening 40 of the cabinet 1 by guidance of the corresponding slide
tracks 70.
[0042] In operation, referring to FIGS. 2-4 with reference to FIG.
1, when the pull board 50 is pulled and extended outward from the
opening 40 of the cabinet 1, the user directly operates the
exercise apparatus 60 immediately, to perform a stepping movement,
so as to achieve an exercising effect. At this time, the electronic
instrument 61 indicates various values during movement. After the
user finishes exercising, the pull board 50 is pushed to close the
opening 40 of the cabinet 1, such that the exercise apparatus 60 is
retracted into and received in the receiving space 101 of the
cabinet 1. Thus, when the exercise apparatus 60 is not in use, the
exercise apparatus 60 is stored in the receiving space 101 of the
cabinet 1, such that the exercising device functions as a piece of
furniture, such as a cabinet.
[0043] Referring to FIGS. 5 and 6, the exercise apparatus 60 is
preferably a rowing machine or a pull exercise machine. The
exercising device further comprises a shelf (or placement rack) 80
mounted on a top of the top plate 10 of the cabinet 1. Thus, when
the exercise apparatus 60 is retracted into and stored in the
receiving space 101 of the cabinet 1, the exercising device
functions as a piece of furniture, and the shelf 80 is used to
place articles.
[0044] In operation, when the pull board 50 is pulled and extended
outward from the opening 40 of the cabinet 1, the user directly
operates the exercise apparatus 60 immediately, to perform a rowing
movement, so as to achieve an exercising effect. At this time, the
electronic instrument 61 indicates various values during movement.
After the user finishes exercising, the pull board 50 is pushed to
close the opening 40 of the cabinet 1, such that the exercise
apparatus 60 is retracted into and received in the receiving space
101 of the cabinet 1. Thus, when the exercise apparatus 60 is not
in use, the exercise apparatus 60 is stored in the receiving space
101 of the cabinet 1, such that the exercising device functions as
a piece of furniture, such as a cabinet, a shelf or a table.
[0045] Referring to FIGS. 7-10, the exercise apparatus 60 is
preferably a treadmill. Thus, the corresponding slide tracks 70 are
arranged between the cabinet 1 and the exercise apparatus 60 as
shown in FIG. 10, to guide the sliding motion of the pull board 50
relative to the cabinet 1. In addition, when the exercise apparatus
60 is retracted into and stored in the receiving space 101 of the
cabinet 1, the exercising device functions as a piece of furniture,
and the shelf 80 is used to place articles.
[0046] In operation, referring to FIGS. 8-10 with reference to FIG.
7, when the pull board 50 is pulled and extended outward from the
opening 40 of the cabinet 1, the user directly operates the
exercise apparatus 60 immediately, to perform a walking or running
movement, so as to achieve an exercising effect. At this time, the
electronic instrument 61 indicates various values during movement.
After the user finishes exercising, the pull board 50 is pushed to
close the opening 40 of the cabinet 1, such that the exercise
apparatus 60 is retracted into and received in the receiving space
101 of the cabinet 1. Thus, when the exercise apparatus 60 is not
in use, the exercise apparatus 60 is stored in the receiving space
101 of the cabinet 1, such that the exercising device functions as
a piece of furniture, such as a cabinet, a shelf or a table.
[0047] Referring to FIGS. 11-15, the exercise apparatus 60 is
preferably an exercise bike and further includes a telescopically
arranged chair 62 located beside the pull board 50. In practice,
the telescopically arranged chair 62 is pulled and extended upward
when in use, and is pushed and retracted downward when not in use.
When the telescopically arranged chair 62 is extended upward, the
telescopically arranged chair 62 is higher than the pull board
50.
[0048] In operation, referring to FIGS. 12-15 with reference to
FIG. 11, when the pull board 50 is pulled and extended outward from
the opening 40 of the cabinet 1 as shown in FIGS. 12 and 13, the
telescopically arranged chair 62 is pulled and extended upward as
shown in FIGS. 14 and 15, such that the user is seated on the
telescopically arranged chair 62 and directly operates the exercise
apparatus 60 immediately, to perform the movement of riding a
bicycle, so as to achieve an exercising effect. At this time, the
electronic instrument 61 indicates various values during movement.
After the user finishes exercising, the telescopically arranged
chair 62 is pushed and retracted downward, and the pull board 50 is
pushed to close the opening 40 of the cabinet 1 as shown in FIG. 1,
such that the exercise apparatus 60 is retracted into and received
in the receiving space 101 of the cabinet 1. Thus, when the
exercise apparatus 60 is not in use, the exercise apparatus 60 is
stored in the receiving space 101 of the cabinet 1, such that the
exercising device functions as a piece of furniture, such as a
cabinet.
[0049] Referring to FIGS. 16-22, the exercise apparatus 60 is
preferably an exercise bike and further includes a telescopically
arranged handle assembly 63. The electronic instrument 61 is
pivotally mounted on the telescopically arranged handle assembly
63. In practice, the telescopically arranged handle assembly 63 is
pulled and extended upward when in use, and is pushed and retracted
downward when not in use. After the telescopically arranged handle
assembly 63 is contracted, the pull board 50 is pushed to close the
opening 40 of the cabinet 1, such that the telescopically arranged
handle assembly 63 is retracted into and received in the receiving
space 101 of the cabinet 1. The back plate 20 of the cabinet 1 is
provided with an extension 201 extending upward. The extension 201
of the back plate 20 is higher than the top plate 10 of the cabinet
1. The exercising device further comprises a seat (or cushion) 90
mounted on the top of the top plate 10 of the cabinet 1 and
abutting the extension 201 of the back plate 20. Thus, the user is
seated on the seat 90 and backed by the extension 201 of the back
plate 20, so as to operate the exercise apparatus 60.
[0050] In operation, referring to FIGS. 18-22 with reference to
FIGS. 16 and 17, when the pull board 50 is pulled and extended
outward from the opening 40 of the cabinet 1 as shown in FIGS. 18
and 19, the telescopically arranged handle assembly 63 is pulled
and extended upward as shown in FIGS. 20 and 21, such that the user
is seated on the seat 90 and directly operates the exercise
apparatus 60 immediately, to perform the movement of riding a
bicycle, so as to achieve an exercising effect. At this time, the
electronic instrument 61 is pivoted upward and unfolded as shown in
FIG. 22, to indicate various values during movement. After the user
finishes exercising, the telescopically arranged handle assembly 63
is pushed and retracted downward, the electronic instrument 61 is
pivoted downward and folded as shown in FIG. 21, and the pull board
50 is pushed to close the opening 40 of the cabinet 1 as shown in
FIG. 16, such that the exercise apparatus 60 is retracted into and
received in the receiving space 101 of the cabinet 1. Thus, when
the exercise apparatus 60 is not in use, the exercise apparatus 60
is stored in the receiving space 101 of the cabinet 1, such that
the exercising device functions as a piece of furniture, such as a
chair.
[0051] Referring to FIGS. 23-28, the exercise apparatus 60 is
preferably an exercise bike. The pull board 50 is provided with a
bottom plate 501 corresponding to the opening 40 of the cabinet 1
and slidably mounted in the corresponding slide tracks 70. Thus,
the bottom plate 501 of the pull board 50 is slidable on the
corresponding slide tracks 70, such that the pull board 50 slides
forward or backward relative to the opening 40 of the cabinet 1.
The pull board 50 is further provided with an extension 502
extending upward. The extension 502 of the pull board 50 is higher
than the top plate 10 of the cabinet 1. The pull board 50 is
further provided with a foldable seat 51 abutting the extension 502
of the pull board 50. The seat 51 is pivotally and foldably mounted
on the pull board 50. Thus, the user is seated on the seat 51 of
the pull board 50 and backed by the extension 502 of the pull board
50, so as to operate the exercise apparatus 60.
[0052] In operation, referring to FIGS. 25-28 with reference to
FIGS. 23 and 24, when the pull board 50 is pulled and extended
outward from the opening 40 of the cabinet 1 as shown in FIGS. 25
and 26, the telescopically arranged handle assembly 63 is pulled
and extended upward, and the seat 51 is pivoted upward and unfolded
as shown in FIGS. 27 and 28, such that the user is seated on the
seat 51 and directly operates the exercise apparatus 60
immediately, to perform the movement of riding a bicycle, so as to
achieve an exercising effect. At this time, the electronic
instrument 61 is unfolded as shown in FIG. 28, to indicate various
values during movement. After the user finishes exercising, the
telescopically arranged handle assembly 63 is pushed and retracted
downward, the seat 51 is pivoted downward and folded as shown in
FIG. 25, the electronic instrument 61 is folded as shown in FIG.
26, and the pull board 50 is pushed to close the opening 40 of the
cabinet 1, such that the exercise apparatus 60 is retracted into
and received in the receiving space 101 of the cabinet 1. Thus,
when the exercise apparatus 60 is not in use, the exercise
apparatus 60 is stored in the receiving space 101 of the cabinet 1,
such that the exercising device functions as a piece of furniture,
such as a chair.
[0053] Accordingly, when the user wishes to use the exercise
apparatus 60, the pull board 50 is pulled and extended outward from
the opening 40 of the cabinet 1, such that the user directly
operates the exercise apparatus 60 immediately, so as to achieve an
exercising effect. In addition, when the exercise apparatus 60 is
not in use, the pull board 50 is pushed to close the opening 40 of
the cabinet 1, and the exercise apparatus 60 is stored in the
receiving space 101 of the cabinet 1, such that the exercising
device functions as a piece of furniture, such as a cabinet, a
chair or a table. Further, when the pull board 50 closes the
opening 40 of the cabinet 1, the exercise apparatus 60 is stored in
the receiving space 101 of the cabinet 1 and protected by the pull
board 50, to achieve dustproof and storage purposes, and to enhance
the lifetime of the exercise apparatus 60. Further, the exercise
apparatus 60 is stored in the receiving space 101 of the cabinet 1
and does not occupies additional indoor space when not in use.
Further, the exercise apparatus 60 is stored easily and
conveniently, thereby facilitating the user storing the exercise
apparatus 60. Further, the exercising device is adapted to function
as furniture, such that the exercising device is incorporated into
the house environment, thereby enhancing the aesthetic quality of
the house.

preferred embodiment(s) as mentioned above, it is to be understood
that many other possible modifications and variations can be made
without departing from the scope of the present invention. It is,
therefore, contemplated that the appended claim or claims will
cover such modifications and variations that fall within the scope
of the invention.
