BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

(1) Field of the Invention

(2) Description of Related Art Including Information Disclosed Under 37 CFR 1.97 and 1.98

[0005] The disclosure and prior art relates to bandana devices and more particularly pertains to a new bandana device for absorbing sweat when a hat is worn.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0006] An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a hat that is worn on a user's head. The hat has a rim and an inside surface, and the rim encircles the user's head when the hat is worn. A bandana is coupled to the hat. The bandana is positionable in a deployed position having the bandana extending downwardly from the rim. Thus, the bandana encircles the user's head when the hat is worn. The bandana is foldable into a stored position having the bandana being positioned in the hat.

[0007] There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.

[0008] The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWING(S)

[0009] The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:

[0010] FIG. 1 is a phantom in-use view of a combination hat and bandana assembly according to an embodiment of the disclosure.

[0011] FIG. 2 is a back view of an embodiment of the disclosure.

[0012] FIG. 3 is a bottom perspective view of an embodiment of the disclosure.

[0013] FIG. 4 is a cross sectional view taken along line 4-4 of FIG. 2 of an embodiment of the disclosure.

[0014] FIG. 5 is a perspective view of an alternative embodiment of the disclosure.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0015] With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 5 thereof, a new bandana device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.

[0016] As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 5, the combination hat and bandana assembly 10 generally comprises a hat 12 that is worn on a user's head 14. The hat 12 has a rim 16 and an inside surface 18, and the rim 16 encircles the user's head 14 when the hat 12 is worn. The hat 12 may be a baseball cap that includes a brim or other type of hat 12 commonly worn in summer. In an alternative embodiment 20 as shown in FIG. 5, the hat 12 may be a cowboy hat or other hat that includes a brim extending around an entire perimeter of the hat 12.

[0017] A bandana 22 is provided and the bandana 22 is coupled to the hat 12. The bandana 22 is positionable in a deployed position having the bandana 22 extending downwardly from the rim 16 thereby encircling the user's head 14. Moreover, the bandana 22 is comprised of a fluid absorbent material thereby facilitating the bandana 22 to absorb perspiration when the hat 12 is worn. In this way the bandana 22 inhibits sweat from entering the user's eyes and from running down the user's face and the back of the user's neck. The bandana 22 is foldable into a stored position having the bandana 22 being positioned in the hat 12.

[0018] The bandana 22 has a top edge 24, a bottom edge 26, a front surface 28 and a back surface 30. The front surface 28 is coupled to the inside surface 18 of the hat 12 having the top edge 24 being aligned with the rim 16 of the hat 12. The bandana 22 may be sewn to the hat 12, adhered to the hat 12 or bonded to the hat 12 through any permanent means. The back surface 30 of the bandana 22 abuts the user's head 14 when the bandana 22 is positioned in the deployed position and the hat 12 is worn. Additionally, the back surface 30 is folded onto itself when the bandana 22 is folded into the stored position such that 12 the bandana 22 does not extend below the rim 16 of the hat 12.

[0019] In use, the hat 12 is worn in the conventional means that the hat 12 would typically be worn. The bandana 22 is positioned in the deployed position when the user is sweating. In this way the bandana 22 absorbs the sweat thereby inhibiting the sweat from running in to the user's eyes. The bandana 22 is folded into the stored position when the user does not wish the bandana 22 to extend below the rim 16 of the hat 12. The bandana 22 is still capable of absorbing sweat when the bandana 22 is positioned in the folded position. In this way the bandana 22 enhances comfort for the user regardless of whether the bandana 22 is in the deployed position or the folded position.

[0020] With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.

[0021] Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word "comprising" is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article "a" does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
