CUSTOMIZABLE CAP
Abstract
A customizable cap that includes: a head portion; a removable
bill removably attached to the head portion; a top button, wherein
the top button removably attaches to the cap; a means to attach the
bill to the cap; and a size adjustment strap, where the size
adjustment strap is capable of being removed or interchanged. The
means to attach the bill and includes hook-and-loop fasteners on
the cap and the removable bill. The top button also includes a
flexible strap and a locking mechanism for the top button to attach
to the cap.

Claims
1. A customizable cap comprises: a head portion; a removable bill
removably attached to the head portion; a top button, wherein the
top button removably attaches to the cap; a means to attach the
bill to the cap; and a size adjustment strap, where the size
adjustment strap is capable of being removed or interchanged.
2. The customizable cap according to claim 1, where the means to
attach the bill and includes hook-and-loop fasteners on the cap and
the removable bill.
3. The customizable cap according to claim 1, further including a
flexible strap and a locking mechanism for the top button to attach
to the cap.
Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Field of Invention
[0001] The present invention relates to a customizable cap that has
interchangeable components.
Description of Related Art
[0002] Caps and hats provide accessory apparel for both men and
women. The typical hat comes with a covering portion with a
surrounding brim. Hats usually provide a more formal type of
headgear with certain styling attributes. Caps provide an
alternative headgear available in various colors and sizes. In
particular a baseball style cap includes a bill and may include an
adjustable strap for size adjustment. The cap includes a head
covering portion and a bill extension attached to the head covering
portion to provide some sun shading.
[0003] The caps also include various styling attributes that allow
the use it to wear different colors and to display associations
with certain themes such as sports teams, styles and brands. Most
caps have a single bill and a top button at the top of the cap. The
object of the present invention is to provide a customizable cap
that allows the user to interchange the bill, top button and even
the adjustable strap for various colors and contrasting
purposes.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0004] The present invention relates to a customizable cap that
includes: a head portion; a removable bill removably attached to
the head portion; a top button, wherein the top button removably
attaches to the cap; a means to attach the bill to the cap; and a
size adjustment strap, where the size adjustment strap is capable
of being removed or interchanged. The means to attach the bill and
includes hook-and-loop fasteners on the cap and the removable bill.
The top button also includes a flexible strap and a locking
mechanism for the top button to attach to the cap.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION
[0008] The present invention relates to a customizable cap that
includes a traditional cap portion with a removable bib and an
interchangeable top button at the top of the cap. The removable
bill is removably attached by using a hook and loop connectors
fasteners provided on the edge of the bill and as of the cap. The
top button is also removably attached through the use of an
adjustable strap and a lock. The lock locks the top button into an
opening at the top of the cap. Further the adjustable strap also
removably attaches to the cap allowing for size adjustment and
enabling the user to change colors or designs associated with the
strap.
[0009] In reference to FIG. 1, a perspective view of a customizable
cap according to present inventions depicted. This customizable cap
includes cap portion 30 with a bill 32. The bill 32 is shown as
attached to the cap portion 30 in FIG. 1. The top button 10 is
shown separated from the cap portion 30 and available for insertion
into an opening 20 of the cap portion 30. The top button 10 is
shown within this opening 20 in FIG. 2 and the bill 32 is removed
from cap portion 30 in FIG. 2. The means to lock and remove the top
button 10 includes a flexible strap 12 that extents downwardly
attached to a horizontal locking mechanism 14 shown in FIG. 1. The
bill 32 removably attaches through the use of a hook-and-loop
fastener 22 shown on bill 32 and a receiving hook-and-loop fastener
24 shown on cap 30. These components as shown may be removed and
therefore the styling of a cap may be changed as desired. Another
aspect of the removable strap 34 shown in FIG. 3 in that the
removable strap 34 fits into a sleeve and has snaps 36 to attach it
to the inner portion of the sleeve. The foregoing descriptions of
specific embodiments of the present invention have been presented
for purposes of illustration and description. They are not intended
to be exhaustive or to limit the invention to the precise forms
disclosed, and obviously many modifications and variations are
possible in light of the above teaching. The exemplary embodiment
was chosen and described in order to best explain the principles of
the invention and its practical application, to thereby enable
others skilled in the art to best utilize the invention and various
embodiments with various modifications as are suited to the
particular use contemplated.
