Description
[0001] The current application is a continuation-in-part (CIP)
application of the U.S. design application Ser. No. 29/629,261
filed on Dec. 12, 2017.
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[0002] The present invention relates generally to infant clothing.
More specifically, the present invention is a versatile infant
garment that effortlessly changes in between a onesie and a swaddle
wrap. The present invention also includes a removable strap to
enhance the safety features as the removable strap secures the
versatile infant garment to a pillow.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0003] A onesie is an infant's one-piece and close-fitting
lightweight garment. Onesies usually have short or long sleeves but
leaving the legs uncovered and fastening with snaps at the crotch.
More specifically, the onesie is a garment that is designed to be
worn by infants much like a T-shirt, but they are distinguished
from T-shirts by an extension below the waist, with fastenings that
allow it to be closed over the crotch. The purpose of the opening
at the crotch is to facilitate access to the infant's diaper.
However, onesies fail to cover the legs of an infant similar to a
swaddle wrap as the infant's legs are generally exposed. The
swaddle wrap is a lightweight fabric and covers an infant's body,
except the head. The swaddle wrap generally includes a pouch and
adjustable wings so that the infant can be placed within the pouch
and wrapped by the adjustable wings. The swaddle wrap can keep an
infant from being disturbed by their own startle reflex, and it can
help them warm for the first few days of life until their internal
thermostat kicks in. The swaddle wrap may even help to calm your
baby when they just need to feel something similar to the tightness
and security of the womb.
[0004] It is therefore an object of the present invention to
provide a versatile infant garment that effortlessly changes in
between the onesie and the swaddle wrap. More specifically, the
present invention comprises openable leg holes which enable the
conversion between the onesie and the swaddle wrap. As a result,
caregivers can easily utilize the functionalities of the onesie and
the swaddle wrap without having to disturb the infant. Furthermore,
the present invention comprises a removable strap that allows the
caregivers to secure the present invention to any type of pillow.
As a result, the present invention is able to prevent accidental
slippage of the infant.
