Description

BACKGROUND

[0001] The present invention relates to a hairbrush usable either to simply brush hair or straighten wavy hair, and more particularly to, a hairbrush enabling heat from a hair dryer to evenly stay longer in the hair while brushing hair by applying a metal plate in the hairbrush so that the heat from a hair dryer can stay longer between hairbrush bristles thus to improve a hair straightening capacity.

[0002] A variety of hair tools are used to manage hair. One of the leading hair managing tools is a hairbrush which is widely loved in households as well as in hair dressing shops. In particular, professional hair dressing shops commonly use hairbrushes together with hair dryers either to generate wavy hairs or to straighten wavy hairs depending on needs.

[0003] A developing trend in hair dressing shops is to get equipped with a variety of specific types of or custom made types of hairbrushes depending on needs of professional hair dressers.

[0004] A conventional hairbrush is shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, where FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a conventional hairbrush and FIG. 2 is a cross section of FIG. 1.

[0005] As shown therein, a conventional hairbrush has a body 11 having an opening 12 and a frame 13 surrounding the opening 12. A handle 14 is fixed to a side of the body 11 and a hook opening 15 extending from the opening 12 is formed along an outer periphery of the frame 13 to hold a cover plate 16.

[0006] Bristles 17 are formed extending from the cover plate 16 spaced and curved to surround the opening 12. The cover plate 17 is usually formed of a rubber material with elasticity.

[0007] The conventional hairbrush is used to simply brush hair or straighten wavy hair using a hair dryer. The function and usage of the conventional hairbrush will be explained. When using for brushing hair, the body 11 is turned holding the handle 14 to let the bristles 17 face down up and moved toward hair, where the bristles 17 move between the hair to achieve the hair brushing effect.

[0008] To use the conventional hairbrush for straightening wavy hair, a hair dryer is utilized so that a heat blow from the hair dryer can reach the hair while moving the hairbrush and straighten the wavy hair with a relatively low efficiency.

[0009] A disadvantage of the conventional hairbrush is a low efficiency in hair straightening when using a hair dryer since the heat from the hair dryer is mostly wasted without being applied to the hair. When the hairbrush holds the hair to get straightened, the heat of a hair dryer usually applies to the hair in about a right angle but the hair dryer heat is more absorbed by the rubber material cover plate 16 due to a rubber property characteristic, thus requiring more time to straightening the hair.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0010] Accordingly, the present invention is contrived to overcome the disadvantages of the conventional hairbrush.

[0011] An objective of the present invention to solve the prior art disadvantages is to improve reflection of the heat blow from a hair dryer when used by a hairbrush according to the present invention, so that more heat can apply to the hair.

[0012] Another objective of the present invention is to enable the straightening of wavy hair to take less time and more quickly straighten the wavy hair.

[0013] Still another objective of the present invention is to improve the efficiency of wavy hair care and management to thus meet a user satisfaction and product reliability.

[0014] In order to meet the objectives, the present invention comprises: a body having a channel opening; an elastic plate formed to surround the channel opening; a handle attached to one end of the body; a hook opening formed along an edge line of an outer frame; an elastic plate inserted through the hook opening; bristles planted vertical to the elastic plate and extending upward; metal plate attached on an upper surface of the elastic plate and inserted through the hook opening; elongate openings formed through the metal plate and allowing the bristles to pass vertically through the elongate openings; and a cap fixing the metal plate and elastic plate to the body and closing the channel opening.

[0015] Advantages of the president invention includes letting the heat from a hair dryer stay longer in the hair using a heat reflection property in the hairbrush, straightening wavy hair more quickly utilizing additional heat from the heat reflection, and saving time and electric energy with an improved hair straightening efficiency.

[0016] Although the present invention is briefly summarized, the full understanding of the invention can be obtained by the following drawings, detailed description, and appended claims.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0017] These and other features, aspects and advantages of the present invention will become better understood with reference to the accompanying drawings, wherein:

[0018] FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a conventional hairbrush;

[0019] FIG. 2 is a cross section taken along line I-I in FIG. 1;

[0020] FIG. 3 is a perspective view showing a construction of a hairbrush according to the present invention;

[0021] FIG. 4 is a perspective view of a metal plate according to the present invention;

[0022] FIG. 5 is a cross section taken along line II-II in FIG. 3;

[0023] FIG. 6 is a cross section taken along line III-III in FIG. 5; and

[0024] FIG. 7 is an enlargement view of "A" in FIG. 5.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PRESENT INVENTION

[0025] Referring to FIGS. 3-7, a hairbrush according to the present invention includes a body 1 having a channel opening 2, an outer frame 3, a handle 4 attached to one end of the body 1, a hook opening 5, an elastic plate 6, bristles 7, a metal plate 8, elongate openings 9, and a cap 10. The channel opening 2 is formed by and between the outer frame 3 and the elastic plate 6. The hook opening 5 is formed along a circumference of the outer frame 3 to fixedly hold therein the circumferential edge of the elastic plate 6 so as to shape the body 1. The handle 4 is attached to one end of the body 1 and the cap 10 is detachably attached to another end of the body 1.

[0026] The elastic plate 6 is formed straight from the handle 4 side to the cap 10 side but substantially waved from side to side to maintain a predetermined length of the channel opening 2 serving as a longitudinal channel to decrease weight of the hairbrush.

[0027] In order to construct the hairbrush, the metal plate 8 is fittingly attached on top of the elastic plate 6 and the attached plates are inserted through the hook opening 5 from the cap 10 side toward the handle 4 side and then fixedly closed by the cap 10 to maintain the plates and the body between the handle and the cap. Preferably, the elastic plate 6 is formed of a rubber material to improve elasticity.

[0028] A plurality of elongate openings 9 are formed through the metal plate 8 in a longitudinal direction or the cap side to the handle side direction to evenly allow the bristles 7 planted in the elastic plate 6 to come out through the elongate openings 9. The bristles 7 are formed in the elastic plate 6 to be perpendicular to the surface of the elastic plate 6.

[0029] The outer surface of the metal plate 8 may be ceramic-coated to improve reflection ratio of heat from a hair dryer so as to achieve maximum effect of straightening wavy hair.

[0030] While the invention has been shown and described with reference to different embodiments thereof, it will be appreciated by those skills in the art that variations in form, detail, compositions and operation may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as defined by the accompanying claims.
