(j) DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0016] With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 5 thereof, a new exercise assembly embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.

[0017] As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 5, the modular multifunctional exercise assembly 10 generally comprises a treadmill 12. A stationary bike 14 is reversibly positionable on and couplable to the treadmill 12. In one embodiment, the treadmill 12 and the stationary bike 14 are sized to fit a child. In another embodiment, the stationary bike 14 comprises a frame 16 that is substantially squarely shaped.

[0018] A first coupler 18 is coupled to the treadmill 12. The first coupler 18 is positioned on a top 20 of the treadmill 12. A second coupler 22 is coupled to the stationary bike 14. The second coupler 22 is positioned on a lower face 24 of the stationary bike 14. The second coupler 22 is complementary to the first coupler 18. The second coupler 22 is positioned to couple to the first coupler 18 to couple the stationary bike 14 to the treadmill 12.

[0019] In one embodiment, the second coupler 22 comprises a pair of slats 26. The slats 26 are coupled to and extend from the lower face 24 of the stationary bike 14. Each slat 26 is longitudinally positioned along a respective opposing side 28 of the frame 16. In this embodiment, the first coupler 18 comprises a pair of tubes 30. The tubes 30 are coupled to and extend from the top 20 of the treadmill 12. Each tube 30 is positioned longitudinally along a respective opposing edge 32 of the treadmill 12. Each tube 30 has an upper surface 34. The upper surface 34 is open such that each tube 30 defines a channel 36. The channels 36 are positioned to slidably insert the slats 26 to couple the stationary bike 14 to the treadmill 12.

[0020] A plurality of first fasteners 38 is coupled to the tubes 30. A plurality of second fasteners 40 is coupled to the slats 26. The second fasteners 40 are complementary to the first fasteners 38. The second fasteners 40 are positioned to couple to the first fasteners 38 to couple the slats 26 to the tubes 30. In one embodiment, the plurality of second fasteners 40 comprises second fasteners 40 that are positioned singly proximate to each corner 42 of the frame 16. In another embodiment, the second fasteners 40 comprise penetrations 44 and the first fasteners 38 comprise pins 46. The pins 46 are spring-loaded. The pins 46 are positioned on the tubes 30 to selectively insert into the penetrations 44 to couple the slats 26 to the tubes 30.

[0021] A screen 48 is coupled to the treadmill 12. The screen 48 also is reversibly couplable to the stationary bike 14. The screen 48 is configured to interact with a user who is selectively positioned on the treadmill 12 and the stationary bike 14. In one embodiment, the screen 48 is configured to operationally control the treadmill 12 and the stationary bike 14. In another embodiment, the screen 48 is configured to present interactive video images, such as scenes and stories, to educate the user.

[0022] A first connector 50 is coupled to a front 52 of the stationary bike 14. A cord 54 is coupled to and extends from the screen 48. A second connector 56 is coupled to the cord 54 distal from the screen 48. The second connector 56 is complementary to the first connector 50. The second connector 56 is positioned to selectively couple to the first connector 50 to operationally couple the stationary bike 14 to the screen 48. In one embodiment, the second connector 56 comprises a plug 58 and the first connector 50 comprises a port 60.

[0023] In use, the tubes 30 are positioned on the treadmill 12 such that the channels 36 are positioned to slidably insert the slats 26 to couple the stationary bike 14 to the treadmill 12. The pins 46 are positioned to selectively insert into the penetrations 44 to couple the slats 26 to the tubes 30. The second connector 56 is positioned to selectively couple to the first connector 50 to operationally couple the stationary bike 14 to the screen 48. The screen 48 is configured to interact with a user who is selectively positioned on the treadmill 12 and the stationary bike 14.

[0024] With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.

[0025] Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word "comprising" is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article "a" does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
