Description
CROSS REFERENCE
[0001] U.S. Patent Document Reference U.S. D473,998 S--I am the
inventor of the Cover-all Bib design as referenced in the design
patent. This utility patent application is to protect both the
design and concept of the Cover-all Bib, now known as the Zippy
Coverall Bib.
INTRODUCTION
[0002] Many approaches have been taken towards providing a
protective bib-like article for babies and toddlers, to be worn
over clothing to prevent food and liquids from staining the
clothing, mod of which only cover from the neck to the waist.
According to the illustrated embodiment of the present invention,
legs have been formed on the bib to cover the legs of the
child.
SUMMARY OF INVENTION
[0003] The Zippy Coverall Bib is designed with a zipper as an
inseam to form legs for the bib, but not limited to the zipper
closure thereof. The closure to form legs could include a zipper,
velcro, snaps, or other forms of closures. The bib has elastic
straps on the back of the leg portion to secure the legs while
being worn, but not limited to the elastic straps to secure the
legs. The bib covers the entire front of the body to protect from
spills, spit-ups and the like. The Zippy Coverall is constructed of
fabrics with a soft laminated poly urethane finish for easy
wipe-of, but not limited to the laminated finished material, but
could include a disposable material such as a fibered paper,
plastic, or other forms of material. The bib can be constructed in
a any desirable size, therefore not limited to infant or toddler
sizes, but can be constructed for adult sizes.
[0004] FIG. 1 The leg portion of the bib is the extension below the
waistline of the bib as shown in FIG. 1. The waistline starts below
the slight indention on the sides where the child's arms would fit.
The leg portion is what makes this design unique, not the closure;
for this bib design could be manufactured without a closure at the
leg portion and be worn in the open position at all times as shown
in FIG. 1. The fictitious pocket shown thereof in FIG. 1 covers the
top portion of the zipper, but is not necessary when the closure on
the leg portion is discarded. The bare minimum of the embodiment of
the present invention is an opening for the neck and an opening to
form the "legs portion" of the bib.
DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION
[0005] FIG. 1 is a front elevational view of a zippy coverall bib
design. The neck strap thereof shown in the opened position; the
leg portion thereof where the zipper is enclosed is shown in the
closed position; the fictitious pocket thereof shown covers the top
of the enclosed zipper.
[0006] FIG. 2 is the front elevational view of a zippy coverall
bib. The leg portion thereof, where the zipper is enclosed shown in
the closed position, the elastic straps thereof, shown are to
secure the individual's legs to the zippy coverall bib legs.
[0007] FIGS. 3, 4, and 5, are edge elevational views of a zippy
coverall bib.
[0008] FIG. 6 is the front elevational view of a zippy coverall
bib. The leg portion thereof, where the zipper is enclosed shown in
the opened position.
[0009] FIG. 7 is the back elevational view of a zippy coverall bib.
The leg portion thereof, where the zipper is enclosed shown in the
opened position, the elastic straps thereof, shown are to secure
the individual's legs to the zippy coverall bib legs.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
[0010] With reference to all figures, FIGS. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and
7, the embodiment is formed from a suitable material, such as, but
not limited to, fabrics with stain resistant properties. The design
shown is with a zipper as an inseam to form legs for the bib, but
not limited to the zipper closure thereof.
[0011] In FIG. 1 is a front elevational view of a zippy coverall
bib design. The neck strap thereof shown in the opened position
with snap closures; the leg portion thereof where the zipper is
enclosed is shown in the closed position; the fictitious pocket
thereof shown covers the top of the enclosed zipper.
[0012] FIG. 2 the back elevational view of a zippy coverall bib.
The leg portion thereof, where the zipper is enclosed shown in the
closed position, the elastic straps thereof, shown are to secure
the individual's legs to the zippy coverall bib legs. Stitching of
the fictions pocket is outlined, covering the upper edge of the
zipper.
[0013] FIG. 3 is the bottom edge elevational view of a zippy
coverall bib.
[0014] FIG. 4 is the top edge elevational view of a zippy coverall
bib.
[0015] FIG. 5 is the side edge elevational view of a zippy coverall
bib.
[0016] FIG. 6 is a front elevational view of a zippy coverall bib
design. The neck strap thereof shown in the opened position with
snap closures; the leg portion thereof where the zipper is enclosed
is shown in the opened position; the fictitious pocket thereof
shown covers the top edge of the enclosed zipper.
[0017] FIG. 7 is the back elevational view of a zippy coverall bib.
The leg portion thereof, where the zipper is enclosed shown in the
opened position, the elastic straps thereof, shown are to secure
the individual's legs to the zippy coverall bib legs. Stitching of
the fictions pocket is outlined, covering the upper edge of the
zipper.
[0018] Although the present invention has been described with
reference to the preferred embodiments, it will be understood that
the invention is not limited to the details described thereof.
Various substitutions and modifications in materials used, size,
and methods of construction will occur during manufacturing
process. Therefore, all such substitutions and modifications are
intended to be embraced within the scope of the invention as
defined in the appended claims.
