support the user to sit on the chair. Since the picnic table and
the chairs are individual items, each individual item has its own
loading capacity. As a result, there is no connecting link between
the picnic table and the chair that is capable of transferring the
loading force between the picnic table and the chairs to enhance
the rigidity of the picnic table set. In addition, since there is
no interlock between the picnic table and the chairs, the picnic
table set does not include any means for maintain the stability
between the picnic table and the chairs.
[0005] An improved picnic table set further comprises a plurality
of linkage arms extended from a bottom side of the tabletop of the
picnic table to the sides of the chairs respectively to enhance the
stabilization of the picnic table set. However, the improved picnic
table set has the drawbacks of taking the seating area of each of
the chairs and blocking the user to get in and out of the chairs.

support unit 20, and an attachment frame 30.
[0035] The panel unit 10 comprises a plurality of panel tops 11,
wherein one of the panel top 11 serves as a tabletop 111 and at
least one of the panel tops 11 serves as a bench top 112.
Preferably, each of the panel tops 11 is made of mold injection
that each of the panel tops 11 forms an injection mold panel top to
provide a light weight but rigid configuration. It is appreciated
that the panel tops 11 can be made of other rigid materials, such
as wood or aluminum. Accordingly, the structural configuration of
the tabletop 111 is the same as that of the bench top 112.
Preferably, the width of the tabletop 111 is larger than the width
of the bench top 112, and the length of the tabletop 111 is the
same as the length of the bench top 112.
[0036] The support unit 20 comprises a plurality of leg frames 21
having different leg heights. One of the leg frames 21 with a
larger leg height serves as a table leg frame 211 foldably coupled
at a bottom side of the tabletop 111 to form a foldable table 40.
One of the leg frames 21 with a smaller leg height serves as a
bench leg frame 222 foldably coupled at a bottom side of the bench
top 112 to form a foldable bench 50.
[0037] In other words, the foldable table 40 is constructed to have
the tabletop 111 and the table leg frame 211, and the foldable
table 40 is constructed to have the bench top 112 and the bench leg
frame 212. The table leg frame 211 is longer than the bench leg
frame 212.
[0038] As shown in FIGS. 1, 2, 3A, and 3B, the leg frame 21 is
pivotally coupled to the bottom side of the panel top 11 and is
moved between a folded position and an unfolded position. At the
folded position, the leg frame 21 is pivotally moved to rest on the
bottom side of the panel top 11. At the unfolded position, the leg
frame 21 is pivotally moved to downwardly, preferably perpendicular
to, extend from the bottom side of the panel top 11. In particular,
an upper end portion of the leg frame 21 is pivotally coupled at
the bottom side of the panel top 11.
[0039] In other words, the table leg frame 211 is pivotally coupled
to the bottom side of the tabletop 111 and is moved between the
folded position that the table leg frame 211 is pivotally moved to
rest on the bottom side of the tabletop 111 and the unfolded
position that the table leg frame 211 is pivotally moved to
downwardly extend from the bottom side of the tabletop 111.
Preferably, two table leg frames 211 are pivotally coupled at two
transverse edge portions of the tabletop 111 respectively.
[0040] Preferably, the table leg frame 211 has a transverse table
member 2111 rotatably coupled at the transverse edge portion of the
tabletop 111 at the bottom side thereof and two table legs 2112
spacedly extended from the transverse table member 2111. At the
folded position of the foldable table 40, the transverse table
member 2111 is rotated to rest the table legs 2112 on the bottom
side of the tabletop 111. At the unfolded position of the foldable
table 40, the transverse table member 2111 is rotated to downwardly
extend the table legs 2112 from the bottom side of the tabletop
111.
[0041] Likewise, the bench leg frame 212 is pivotally coupled to
the bottom side of the bench top 111 and is moved between the
folded position that the bench leg frame 212 is pivotally moved to
rest on the bottom side of the bench top 112 and the unfolded
position that the bench leg frame 212 is pivotally moved to
downwardly extend from the bottom side of the bench top 112.
Preferably, two bench leg frames 212 are pivotally coupled at two
transverse edge portions of the bench top 112 respectively.
Preferably, the bench leg frame 212 has a transverse bench member
2121 rotatably coupled at the transverse edge portion of the bench
top 112 at the bottom side thereof and two bench legs 2122 spacedly
extended from the transverse bench member 2121. At the folded
position of the foldable bench 50, the transverse bench member 2121
is rotated to rest the bench legs 2122 on the bottom side of the
bench top 112. At the unfolded position of the foldable bench 50,
the transverse bench member 2121 is rotated to downwardly extend
the bench legs 2122 from the bottom side of the bench top 112.
[0042] It is worth mentioning that the structural configuration of
the table leg frame 211 is the same as that of the bench leg frame
212, wherein only the length of the table leg frame 211 is longer
than the length of the bench leg frame 212. In other words, the
length of the table leg 2112 is longer than the length of the bench
leg 2122.
[0043] The support unit 20 comprises a retention arm 22 pivotally
coupled between the bottom side of the panel top 11 and the leg
frame 21 for retaining the leg frame 21 at the unfolded position.
Accordingly, the retention arm 22 comprises a first arm 221 having
an upper end pivotally coupled at the bottom side of the panel top
11 and a second arm 222 having a lower end pivotally coupled to the
leg frame 21, wherein a lower end of the first arm 221 is pivotally
coupled to an upper end of the second arm 222. When the leg frame
21 is moved at the folded position, the first arm 221 and the
second arm 222 are pivotally moved to overlap with each other. When
the leg frame 21 is moved at the unfolded position, the first arm
221 and the second arm 222 are pivotally moved to align with each
other end-to-end to form an elongated member between the panel top
11 and the leg frame 21.
[0044] For the foldable table 40, the retention arm 22 serves as a
foldable table retention arm, wherein the upper end of the first
arm 221 is pivotally coupled at the bottom side of the tabletop 111
and the lower end of the second arm 222 is pivotally coupled table
leg frame 211. For the foldable bench 50, the retention arm 22
serves as a foldable bench retention arm, wherein the upper end of
the first arm 221 is pivotally coupled at the bottom side of the
bench top 112 and the lower end of the second arm 222 is pivotally
coupled bench leg frame 212.
[0045] According to the preferred embodiment, the leg frames 21 are
detachably and spacedly coupled at the attachment frame 30, such
that the attachment frame 30 not only retains a distance between
the foldable table 40 and the foldable bench 50 but also interlocks
the foldable table 40 and the foldable bench 50 at their unfolded
positions by different leg heights.
[0046] According to the preferred embodiment, the attachment frame
30 comprises two spaced apart attachment runners 31 and a plurality
of attachment members 32 spacedly provided on the attachment
runners 31, wherein bottom ends of the leg frames 21 are detachably
to the attachment members 32 on the attachment runners 31 to lock
up each of the foldable table 40 and the foldable bench 50 at the
unfolded positions.
[0047] Accordingly, the folding path of the foldable table 40 is
that the table leg frame 211 is pivotally folded with respect to
the tabletop 111 via the length of the table leg frame 211. In
other words, the folding path of the foldable table 40 refers to
the length of the table leg frame 211. Likewise, the folding path
of the foldable bench 50 is that the bench leg frame 212 is
pivotally folded with respect to the bench top 112 via the length
of the bench leg frame 212, such that the folding path of the
foldable bench 50 refers to the length of the bench leg frame 212.
Therefore, the folding path of the foldable table 40 is different
from the folding path of the foldable bench 50 via different leg
heights.
[0048] When the bottom ends of the table leg frames 211 and the
bottom ends of the bench leg frames 212 are respectively coupled on
the attachment runners 31 via the attachment members 32, the
foldable table 40 and the foldable bench 50 will be interlocked
with each other at their unfolded position. In other words, due to
the length difference between the table leg frame 211 and the bench
leg frame 212, the length of the table leg frame 211 will lock up
the folding path of the foldable bench 50 and the length of the
bench leg frame 212 will lock up the folding path of the foldable
table 40.
[0049] As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the attachment runners 31 are
extended parallel with each other, wherein the two table leg frames
211 of the foldable table 40 are coupled at the attachment runners
31 respectively and the two bench leg frames 212 of the foldable
bench 50 are also coupled at the attachment runners 31
respectively. In other words, the distance between the attachment
runners 31 is the same as the distance between the bottom ends of
the table leg frames 211 at the unfolded position of the foldable
table 40, which is also the same as the distance between the bottom
ends of the bench leg frames 212 at the unfolded position of the
foldable bench 50.
[0050] As shown in FIGS. 4A and 4B, each of the attachment members
32 has a tubular attachment socket 321, having a top inserting
opening 322, upwardly extended from the attachment runner 31 to
detachably receive the bottom end of the leg frame 21 through the
top inserting opening 322. In other words, the bottom ends of the
table legs 2112 of the table leg frame 211 are slidably inserted
into the tubular attachment sockets 321 through the top inserting
opening 322 thereof to detachably couple the table leg frame 211 at
the attachment runners 31. Likewise, the bottom ends of the bench
legs 2122 of the bench leg frame 212 are slidably inserted into the
tubular attachment sockets 321 through the top inserting opening
322 thereof to detachably couple the bench leg frame 212 at the
attachment runners 31. Preferably, the tubular attachment sockets
321 are affixed to the attachment members 31 in an immovable
manner, such that when the bottom ends of the table leg frames 211
and the bench leg frames 212 are coupled at the attachment runners
31, the distance between the foldable table 40 and the foldable
bench 50 is retained and non-adjustable.
[0051] In one embodiment as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, two foldable
benches 50 are provided that the foldable table 40 is located
between the two foldable benches 50. Therefore, there are six
tubular attachment sockets 321 provided on each of the attachment
runners 31. Two of the attachment sockets 321 are coupled to the
bottom ends of the table legs 2112 of each table leg frame 211 and
two of the attachment sockets 321 are coupled to the bottom ends of
the bench legs 2122 of each bench leg frame 212.
[0052] Preferably, each of the table legs 2112 of the table leg
frame 211 has a bend portion and a vertical portion wherein the
vertical portion of the table leg 2112 is detachably inserted into
the tubular attachment socket 321. The bend portion of the table
leg 2112 is extended in a horizontal configuration to rest on the
attachment runner 31. In other words, two vertical portions of the
table leg frame 211 are detachably inserted into the tubular
attachment sockets 321 respectively while two bend portions of the
table leg frame 211 are extended oppositely to rest on the
attachment runner 31 to enhance the stabilization of the foldable
table 40 at the unfolded position.
[0053] FIGS. 5A and 5B illustrate a first alternative mode of the
attachment frame 30A which comprises two spaced apart attachment
runners 31A and a plurality of attachment members 32A spacedly
provided on the attachment runners 31A, wherein bottom ends of the
leg frames 21 are detachably to the attachment members 32A on the
attachment runners 31A to lock up each of the foldable table 40 and
the foldable bench 50 at the unfolded positions.
[0054] As shown in FIGS. 5A and 5B, each of the attachment members
32A has a tubular attachment socket 321A, having a side inserting
opening 322A, slidably coupled at the attachment runner 31A to
detachably receive the bottom end of the leg frame 21 through the
side inserting opening 322A. Accordingly, the bottom end of the leg
frame 21 has a L-shaped configuration to detachably insert into the
tubular attachment socket 321A through the side inserting opening
322A. The L-shaped bottom ends of the table legs 2112 of the table
leg frame 211 are extended oppositely.
[0055] In other words, the bottom ends of the table legs 2112 of
the table leg frame 211 are slidably inserted into the tubular
attachment sockets 321A through the side inserting opening 322A
thereof to detachably couple the table leg frame 211 at the
attachment runners 31A. Likewise, the bottom ends of the bench legs
2122 of the bench leg frame 212 are slidably inserted into the
tubular attachment sockets 321A through the side inserting opening
322A thereof to detachably couple the bench leg frame 212 at the
attachment runners 31A.
[0056] In particular, when the bottom ends of the table legs 2112
of the table leg frame 211 are rested on the attachment runner 31A,
the tubular attachment sockets 321A are slid to engage with the
bottom ends of the table legs 2112 of the table leg frame 211.
Likewise, the bottom ends of the bench legs 2122 of the bench leg
frame 212 are rested on the attachment runner 31A, the tubular
attachment sockets 321A are slid to engage with the bottom ends of
the bench legs 2122 of the bench leg frame 212. Since the tubular
attachment socket 321A are slidably coupled at the attachment
runner 31A, the positions of the foldable table 40 and the foldable
bench 50 are adjustable to selectively adjust the distance between
the foldable table 40 and the foldable bench 50.
[0057] FIGS. 6A and 6B illustrate a second alternative mode of the
attachment frame 30B which comprises two spaced apart attachment
runners 31B and a plurality of attachment members 32B spacedly
provided on the attachment runners 31B, wherein bottom ends of the
leg frames 21 are detachably to the attachment members 32B on the
attachment runners 31B to lock up each of the foldable table 40 and
the foldable bench 50 at the unfolded positions.
[0058] As shown in FIGS. 6A and 6B, each of the attachment members
32B has an elastic clip 321B upwardly extended from the attachment
runner 31A to detachably receive the bottom end of the leg frame
21. Preferably, each of the elastic clips 321B has a U-shaped
configuration to form a top elastic clip opening. Accordingly, the
bottom end of the leg frame 21 has a L-shaped configuration to
detachably insert into the elastic clip 321B through the top
elastic opening. The L-shaped bottom ends of the table legs 2112 of
the table leg frame 211 are extended oppositely.
[0059] In other words, the bottom ends of the table legs 2112 of
the table leg frame 211 are detachably engaged with the elastic
clips 321B to detachably couple the table leg frame 211 at the
attachment runners 31B. Likewise, the bottom ends of the bench legs
2122 of the bench leg frame 212 are detachably engaged with the
elastic clips 321B to detachably couple the bench leg frame 212 at
the attachment runners 31B.
[0060] In particular, the bottom ends of the table legs 2112 of the
table leg frame 211 are pressed to engage with the elastic clips
321B and to rest on the attachment runner 31B
[0061] Likewise, the bottom ends of the bench legs 2122 of the
bench leg frame 212 are pressed to engage with the elastic clips
321B and to rest on the attachment runner 31B. The positions of the
foldable table 40 and the foldable bench 50 are adjustable to
selectively adjust the distance between the foldable table 40 and
the foldable bench 50.
[0062] In order to set up the foldable banquet table and bench set
of the present invention, the user is able to unfold each of the
foldable table 40 and the foldable bench 50 at their unfolded
positions by pivotally and outwardly folding the table leg frames
211 from the tabletop 111 and by pivotally outwardly folding the
bench leg frames 212 from the bench top 112. Then, by locating the
attachment runners 31 to space apart from each other, the bottom
ends of the table leg frames 211 and the bench leg frames 212 are
detachably coupled at the attachment runners 31 via the attachment
members 32. As a result, the attachment frame 30 not only retains a
distance between the foldable table 40 and the foldable bench 50
but also interlocks the foldable table 40 and the foldable bench 50
at the unfolded positions. It is worth mentioning that the foldable
table 40 and the foldable bench 50 can be individually used without
the attachment frame 30. The attachment frame 30 serves as an
interlocking means to interlock foldable table 40 and the foldable
bench 50 with each other at their unfolded positions.
[0063] For folding up the foldable banquet table and bench set of
the present invention, the user is able to detach the bottom ends
of the table leg frames 211 and the bench leg frames 212 from the
attachment runners 31. Then, the user is able to fold each of the
foldable table 40 and the foldable bench 50 at their folded
positions by pivotally and inwardly folding the table leg frames
211 to rest on the bottom side of the tabletop 111 and by pivotally
inwardly folding the bench leg frames 212 to rest on the bottom
side of the bench top 112. As a result, the foldable table 40 and
the foldable bench 50 at the folded positions and the attachment
runners 30 can be packed in a storage bag or the like for carriage
or storage.
