Wrap-Around Neck Pillow Assembly
Abstract
A wrap-around neck pillow assembly for neck support in an
inclined or upright position includes a casing defining an internal
space. The casing has a front, a back, a first end and a second
end. A support, which is pliable, is complementary to and
positioned in the internal space. A first fastener is coupled to
the casing proximate to the first end and a second fastener, which
is complementary to the first fastener, is coupled to the casing
proximate to the second end. The second fastener is positioned to
reversibly couple with the first fastener. A seam is positioned in
the casing substantially equally distant from the first end and the
second end defining a first section and a second section of the
casing. The casing is foldable along the seam for storage and the
casing is curvable along the seam for positioning around a user's
neck.

Description
BACKGROUND OF THE DISCLOSURE
Field of the Disclosure
[0001] The disclosure relates to neck pillows and more particularly
pertains to a new neck pillow for neck support in an inclined or
upright position.
SUMMARY OF THE DISCLOSURE
[0002] An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented
above by generally comprising a casing defining an internal space.
The casing has a front, a back, a first end and a second end. A
support, which is pliable, is complementary to and positioned in
the internal space. A first fastener is coupled to the casing
proximate to the first end and a second fastener, which is
complementary to the first fastener, is coupled to the casing
proximate to the second end. The second fastener is positioned to
reversibly couple with the first fastener. A seam is positioned in
the casing substantially equally distant from the first end and the
second end defining a first section and a second section of the
casing. The casing is foldable along the seam for storage and the
casing is curvable along the seam for positioning around a user's
neck.
[0003] There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more
important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed
description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in
order that the present contribution to the art may be better
appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that
will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject
matter of the claims appended hereto.
[0004] The objects of the disclosure, along with the various
features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed
out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part
of this disclosure.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0005] The disclosure will be better understood and objects other
than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration
is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such
description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
[0006] FIG. 1 is a back view of a wrap-around neck pillow assembly
according to an embodiment of the disclosure.
[0007] FIG. 2 is a bottom view of an embodiment of the
disclosure.
[0008] FIG. 3 is a front view of an embodiment of the
disclosure.
[0009] FIG. 4 is a cross-sectional view of an embodiment of the
disclosure.
[0010] FIG. 5 is an in-use view of an embodiment of the
disclosure.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
[0011] With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
FIGS. 1 through 5 thereof, a new neck pillow embodying the
principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and
generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be
described.
[0012] As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 5, the wrap-around
neck pillow assembly 10 generally comprises a casing 12 that has a
front 14, a back 16, a first end 18 and a second end 20. The casing
12 defines an internal space 22. The casing 12 comprises fabric 24
that preferably is decorative. The first end 18 and the second end
20 are rounded. The front 14 and the back 16 are substantially
rectangularly shaped.
[0013] A support 26, which is pliable, is complementary to and
positioned in the internal space 22. Preferably, the support 26
comprises a foam 28. The foam 28 may be beaded.
[0014] A first fastener 30 is coupled to the casing 12 proximate to
the first end 18. Preferably, the first fastener 30 is coupled to
the back 16 of the casing 12. A second fastener 32, which is
complementary to the first fastener 30, is coupled to the casing 12
proximate to the second end 20. Preferably, the second fastener 32
is coupled to the front 14 of the casing 12. The second fastener 32
is positioned to reversibly couple with the first fastener 30.
Preferably, the first fastener 30 and the second fastener 32 are
selected from the group of fasteners consisting of hook-type and
loop-type fasteners. The first fastener 30 and the second fastener
32 are substantially rectangularly shaped. The first fastener 30 is
dimensionally larger than the second fastener 32. The second
fastener 32 is variably couplable to the first fastener 30 such
that the casing 12 is configured to be adjustably positionable
around a user's neck.
[0015] A seam 34 is positioned in the casing 12 substantially
equally distant from the first end 18 and the second end 20,
defining a first section 36 and a second section 38 of the casing
12. The casing 12 is foldable along the seam 34 for storage. The
casing 12 also is curvable along the seam 34 for positioning around
the user's neck. The seam 34 is substantially parallel to the first
end 18 and the second end 20. The seam 34 extends from proximate to
a top 40 of the casing 12 to proximate to a bottom 42 of the casing
12, and from the front 14 to the back 16 of the casing 12. The seam
34 may comprise elastic. Preferably, the top 40 and the bottom 42
are rounded.
[0016] An indentation 44 is positioned in the back 16 of the casing
12 substantially equally distant from the first end 18 and the
second end 20. The indentation 44 is positioned in the casing 12
such that the first section 36 and the second section 38 of the
casing 12 are positionable in parallel. The first section 36 and
the second section 38 of the casing 12 also are curvable for
positioning around the user's neck. The indentation 44 comprises a
pair of sections 46 that extend from the seam 34. Preferably, the
sections 46 are arcuate.
[0017] In use, the casing 12 is configured to be positioned around
a user's neck. The first fastener 30 is positioned to couple with
the second fastener 32 to secure the casing 12 in position around
the user's neck. The support 26 positioned in the internal space 22
of the casing 12 is configured to maintain the user's head and neck
in a comfortable position when the user is in an inclined or
vertical position.
[0018] With respect to the above description then, it is to be
realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts
of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations
in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation,
assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one
skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those
illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are
intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
[0019] Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only
of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous
modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in
the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact
construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly,
all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to,
falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent
document, the word "comprising" is used in its non-limiting sense
to mean that items following the word are included, but items not
specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element
by the indefinite article "a" does not exclude the possibility that
more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly
requires that there be only one of the elements.
