Description
CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS
[0001] This is a non-provisional application of U.S. Provisional
Application No. 62/211,506, filed on Aug. 28, 2015.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0002] (1) Field of Invention
[0003] The present invention relates to eyelash extensions and,
more particularly, to a method for applying eyelash extensions via
double application of eyelash strips.
[0004] (2) Description of Related Art
[0005] Beauty products have long been known in the art. Users,
women in particular, have sought a variety of beauty products to
enhance their aesthetic appearance. For example, blush is often
used to add color to a woman's cheeks. As another example, lipstick
is traditionally used to add a variety of colors and features to a
user's lips. To enhance the appearance of a user's eyelashes, some
eyelash technicians apply individual eyelash extensions to a user's
natural lashes. While individual eyelash extensions provide a very
real appearance, the procedure is costly. Thus, in an attempt to
reduce application time and costs, some technicians apply eyelash
strips to the top of a user's natural eyelashes. A problem with
such a technique is that the eyelash strips may fall off and do not
typically add an appearance of tidiness to the existing lashes.
[0006] Therefore, there is a continuing need for a method for
applying eyelash strips that increase retention and add fullness to
existing lashes.
SUMMARY OF INVENTION
[0007] Described is a method for applying eyelash extensions via
double application of eyelash strips. For example, the method
includes acts of adhering a first eyelash strip below or on top of
a user's natural eyelashes and adhering a second eyelash strip on
top of or below the user's natural eyelashes, such that at least
one eyelash strip is on top of and another eyelash strip is below
the user's natural eyelashes.
[0008] Finally, as can be appreciated by one in the art, the
present invention also comprises a method for forming and using the
invention described herein.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0009] The objects, features and advantages of the present
invention will he apparent from the following detailed descriptions
of the various aspects of the invention in conjunction with
reference to the following drawings, where:
[0010] FIG. 1 is an illustration of a typical eyelash strip that
includes an elongated strip having a plurality of eyelashes
extending therefrom;
[0011] FIG. 2 is an illustration of a closed eye;
[0012] FIG. 3 is an illustration depicting a method of the prior
art for applying an eyelash strip to a user's closed eye; and
[0013] FIG. 4 is an illustration depicting a method for applying an
eyelash extensions according to various embodiments of the present
invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION
[0014] The present invention relates to eyelash extensions and,
more particularly, to a method for applying eyelash extensions via
double application of eyelash strips. The following description is
presented to enable one of ordinary skill in the art to make and
use the invention and to incorporate it in the context of
particular applications. Various modifications, as well as a
variety of uses in different applications will he readily apparent
to those skilled in the art, and the general principles defined
herein may be applied to a wide range of embodiments. Thus, the
present invention is not intended to be limited to the embodiments
presented, but is to be accorded the widest scope consistent with
the principles and novel features disclosed herein.
[0015] In the following detailed description, numerous specific
details are set forth in order to provide a more thorough
understanding of the present invention. However, it will be
apparent to one skilled in the art that the present invention may
be practiced without necessarily being limited to these specific
details, in other instances, well-known structures and devices are
shown in block diagram form, rather than in detail, in order to
avoid obscuring the present invention.
[0016] The reader's attention is directed to all papers and
documents which are filed concurrently with this specification and
which are open to public inspection with this specification, and
the contents of all such papers and documents are incorporated
herein by reference. All the features disclosed in this
specification, (including any accompanying claims, abstract, and
drawings) may be replaced by alternative features serving the same,
equivalent or similar purpose, unless expressly stated otherwise.
Thus, unless expressly stated otherwise, each feature disclosed is
one example only of a generic series of equivalent or similar

any particular fixed direction. Instead, they are used to reflect
relative locations and/or directions between various portions of an
object.
(1) Description
[0019] The present invention relates to eyelash extensions and,
more particularly, to a method for applying eyelash extensions via
double application of eyelash strips. For example, an eyelash strip
typically includes an elongated strip base (such as a tape or glue
strip) with a plurality of individual or branched lashes extending
therefrom. An example of such a typical eyelash strip 100 is
illustrated in FIG. 1. The traditional process for applying such an
eyelash strip 100 is to glue, tape, or otherwise adhere the strip
base 103 to the top of the users existing eyelashes 102 (e.g., top
eyelashes) or against the user's upper eyelid 104, as shown between
FIGS. 2 and 3.
[0020] The present invention improves upon the method of the prior
art by providing a method in which at least two eyelash strips are
applied to a single eye. For example and as shown in FIG. 4, a
first eyelash strip 400 is adhered below the user's natural lashes
102 and a second eyelash strip 402 is adhered on top of the user's
natural lashes 102. Thus, the method includes acts of (1) adhering
(via glue, tape, etc.) a first eyelash strip 400 below or on top of
the user's natural eyelashes 102 (either to the eyelashes directly
or to the user's eyelid 104, or any combination thereon, and (2)
adhering (via glue, tape, etc.) a second eyelash strip 402 on top
of or below the user's natural eyelashes 102 (either to the
eyelashes directly or to the user's eyelid 104, or any combination
thereof), such that at least one eyelash strip (e.g., first eyelash
strip 400) is on top of and another eyelash strip (e.g., second
eyelash strip 402) is below the user's natural eyelashes 102.
[0021] In one aspect, although not limited thereto, an eyelash
strip 400 is first affixed below the user's natural eyelashes 102
by having the user open their eyes to expose a bottom side of the
user's natural lashes 102. The first eyelash strip 400 is then
affixed (using glue, adhesive tape, etc.) below the user's natural
lashes 102 (such as being stuck with an adhesive strip to the
bottom side of the natural lashes 102). The user then closes their
eye, allowing the technician to then apply the second eyelash strip
402 on top of the user's natural lashes 102.
[0022] It should also be noted that the eyelash strip 400 and/or
402 can be adhered directly to the top of the user's natural lashes
102 or against the user's eyelid 104 (above the lashes) or any
other desired location. The eyelash strip 400 and/or 402 is adhered
to the natural lashes 102 or user's eyelid 104 using an adhesive,
tape, or any other method. (e.g., such as using the adhesive tape
on a common eyelash strip). Further, the eyelash strip 400 and/or
402 can be a complete eyelash strip or a strip of any size.
Additionally, the eyelash strip 400 and/or 402 can have a single
lash, a bundle or lashes, or any number of lashes.
[0023] It should also be noted that the eyelash strip 400 and/or
402 is any type of eyelash strip, non-limiting examples of which
include an eyelash strip with threads at the root, eyelash strip
with knots at the root, or strips without threads at the root, or
any other kind of eyelash strip. In other words, it should be
explicitly understood that the method described herein can be
employed with any type of eyelash strip that includes a plurality
of eyelashes.
