Claims
1. An article of manufacture comprising: a center textile portion
comprising an elongated top edge, an elongated bottom edge spaced
from the top edge, the bottom edge extending in spaced, opposed
parallel relation to the top edge, the center textile portion
further comprising a substantially uniform width; a first side
textile portion comprising a horizontal axis of symmetry, the first
side textile portion further comprising a tapering width; a second
side textile portion comprising a horizontal axis of symmetry, the
second side textile portion further comprising a tapering width; a
top side; a bottom side substantially symmetrical to the top side;
a first end, wherein the first end inhibits the tapering width of
the first side textile portion; a second end, wherein the second
end inhibits the tapering width of the second side textile portion;
and an attachment located substantially on the vertical axis of
symmetry.
2. The article of manufacture of claim 1, wherein the center
textile portion comprises a pocket.
3. The article of manufacture of claim 2, wherein the pocket
comprises dimensions of 4.5 inches in width and 5.5 inches in
height.
4. The article of manufacture of claim 2, wherein the distance
between the pocket and the attachment is 4.5 inches.
5. The article of manufacture of claim 1, wherein the attachment is
a sewn-on button.
6. The article of manufacture of claim 1, wherein the attachment is
5 inches from the top edge of the center textile portion and 15
inches from the bottom edge of the center textile portion.
7. The article of manufacture of claim 1, wherein the article of
manufacture is 208 inches in length.
8. The article of manufacture of claim 1, wherein the distance from
the top edge to the bottom edge is 20 inches.
9. The article of manufacture of claim 1, wherein the first end
comprises a height of 3 inches.
10. The article of manufacture of claim 1, wherein the second end
comprises a height of 3 inches.
11. An apparatus comprising: a center textile portion comprising a
vertical axis of symmetry, a top edge, and a bottom edge, the
center textile portion further comprising a substantially uniform
width; a first side textile portion comprising a horizontal axis of
symmetry, the first side textile portion further comprising a
tapering width; a second side textile portion comprising a
horizontal axis of symmetry, the second side textile portion
further comprising a tapering width; a top side; a bottom side
substantially symmetrical to the top side; a first end, wherein the
first end inhibits the tapering width of the first side textile
portion; a second end, wherein the second end inhibits the tapering
width of the second side textile portion; and an attachment located
substantially on the vertical axis of symmetry.
12. The apparatus of claim 11, wherein the center textile portion
comprises a pocket.
13. The apparatus of claim 12, wherein the pocket comprises
dimensions of 4.5 inches in width and 5.5 inches in height.
14. The apparatus of claim 12, wherein the distance between the
pocket and the attachment is 4.5 inches.
15. The apparatus of claim 11, wherein the attachment is a sewn-on
button.
16. The apparatus of claim 11, wherein the attachment is 5 inches
from the top edge of the center textile portion and 15 inches from
the bottom edge of the center textile portion.
17. The apparatus of claim 11, wherein the article of manufacture
is 208 inches in length.
18. The apparatus of claim 11, wherein the distance from the top
edge to the bottom edge is 20 inches.
19. The apparatus of claim 11, wherein the first end comprises a
height of 3 inches.
20. The apparatus of claim 11, wherein the second end comprises a
height of 3 inches.
21. A garment consisting of: a textile structure having an
elongated major front surface having a first end; the major front
surface having a second end opposite the first end, the second end
disposed in opposed relationship to the first end; the major front
surface having an elongated, continuous top edge extending from the
first end to the second end in intersecting relationship therewith;
the major front surface having an elongated continuous bottom edge
extending from the first end to the second end in intersecting
relationship therewith, the bottom edge spaced from the top edge in
opposed relationship relative thereto; the major front surface
having an elongated imaginary major central axis extending from the
first end to the second end, the major central axis defined
intermediate the top edge and bottom edge in equidistant
relationship therewith, the major central axis having a major
central axis midpoint, the major central axis midpoint equidistant
from the first end and second end; the major front surface having
an imaginary minor central axis extending from the top edge to the
bottom edge in perpendicular relationship to the major central
axis, the minor central axis having a minor central axis midpoint
equidistant from the top edge and bottom edge; the minor central
axis at the minor central axis midpoint intersecting the major
central axis at the major central axis midpoint; at the minor
central axis the top edge spaced from the major central axis by a
top edge maximum height; at the first end the top edge spaced from
the major central axis by a top edge minimum height, at the second
end the top edge spaced from the major central axis by the top edge
minimum height; intermediate the minor central axis and first end
the top edge having a top edge first taper point, from the minor
central axis to the top edge first taper point the top edge having
the maximum height, the top edge tapering from the maximum height
at the top edge first taper point to the minimum height at the
first end; intermediate the minor central axis and second end the
top edge having a top edge second taper point, from the minor
central axis to the top edge second taper point the top edge having
the maximum height, the top edge tapering from the maximum height
at the top edge second taper point to the minimum height at the
second end; at the minor central axis the bottom edge spaced from
the major central axis by a bottom edge maximum depth; at the first
end the bottom edge spaced from the major central axis by a bottom
edge minimum depth, at the second end the bottom edge spaced from
the major central axis by the bottom edge minimum depth;
intermediate the minor central axis and first end the bottom edge
having a bottom edge first taper point, from the minor central axis
to the bottom edge first taper point the bottom edge having the
maximum depth, the bottom edge tapering from the maximum depth at
the bottom edge first taper point to the minimum depth at the first
end; intermediate the minor central axis and second end the bottom
edge having a bottom edge second taper point, from the minor
central axis to the bottom edge second taper point the bottom edge
having the maximum depth, the bottom edge tapering from the maximum
depth at the bottom edge second taper point to the minimum depth at
the second end; along the major central axis from the first end to
the second end the major front surface having an overall length in
the range of 204 inches to 212 inches; the top edge having a
maximum height of substantially 10 inches; the bottom edge having a
maximum depth of substantially 10 inches; the textile structure
having a central section top edge, the center section top edge
defined by the top edge from the top edge first taper point to the
top edge second taper point, the center section top edge having a
center section top edge length of substantially 48 inches; the
textile structure having a central section bottom edge, the center
section bottom edge defined by the bottom edge from the bottom edge
first taper point to the bottom edge second taper point, the center
section bottom edge having a center section bottom edge length of
substantially 48 inches; the textile structure comprising a
continuous major rear surface disposed in opposition to the major
front surface, the major rear surface being a mirror image of the
major front surface; one button mounted to the textile structure
proximate the major front surface at the minor central axis; and
one pocket defined by the textile structure, the pocket having an
openable mouth proximate the major front surface.
22. The garment according to claim 21, said garment further
consisting of the top edge at the top edge first taper point
tapering toward the major central axis at a top edge first taper
angle in the range of 83.4 degrees to 84.1 degrees.
23. The garment according to claim 21, said garment further
consisting of the top edge at the top edge second taper point
tapering toward the major central axis at a top edge second taper
angle in the range of 83.4 degrees to 84.1 degrees.
24. The garment according to claim 21, said garment further
consisting of the bottom edge at the bottom edge first taper point
tapering toward the major central axis at a bottom edge first taper
angle in the range of 83.4 degrees to 84.1 degrees.
25. The garment according to claim 21, said garment further
consisting of the bottom edge at the bottom edge second taper point
tapering toward the major central axis at a bottom edge second
taper angle in the range of 83.4 degrees to 84.1 degrees.
26. The garment according to claim 21, said garment further
consisting of the central section top edge length being equal to
the central section bottom edge length.
27. The garment according to claim 21, said garment further
consisting of the central section having a central section minor
centerline coextensive with the minor central axis, the central
section minor centerline dividing the central section into halves
of equal area.
Description
CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS
[0001] This application claims the benefit of Design Patent
application No. 29/515,266 filed Jan. 21, 2015, which is hereby
incorporated by reference in its entirety.
FIELD OF INVENTION
[0002] The present disclosure relates to garments and more
specifically to a carrying garment.
BACKGROUND
[0003] The present disclosure relates to garments and more
specifically a carrying garment. Embodiments provide a carrying
garment configured for carrying a baby.
BRIEF SUMMARY OF INVENTION
[0004] The present disclosure provides embodiments of a carrying
garment. The present disclosure further provides embodiments of a
carrying garment configured for carrying a baby in relation to an
individual wearing the carrying garment. As used herein, an
individual wearing a carrying garment according to embodiments is
referenced as an "individual wearer". According to embodiments, a
carrying garment configured for carrying a baby may be securely
wrapped around an individual wearer to enable the carrying of a
baby relative to the individual wearer.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF ILLUSTRATIVE EMBODIMENTS

same reference numbers are used throughout the different figures to
designate the same components.

[0018] FIG. 1 displays an individual utilizing the carrying garment
10 in accordance with one embodiment. In embodiments, the garment
10 may comprise a center textile portion 12, first and second side
textile portions 14,16, top and bottom sides, first and second ends
18,20, and an attachment 22. The carrying garment 10 may allow an
individual to carry another individual, such as a baby (hereinafter
"baby"), by wrapping the garment 10 around both individuals in a
specific fashion.
[0019] FIG. 2 displays a top view of the carrying garment 10 in
accordance with an embodiment. The center textile portion 12 of the
garment 10 may comprise an elongated top edge, and an elongated
bottom edge spaced from the top edge. The bottom edge may extend in
spaced, opposed parallel relation to the top edge. The center
textile portion 12 may comprise a substantially uniform width.
[0020] The first side textile portion 14 may comprise a horizontal
axis of symmetry. In embodiments, the first side textile portion 14
may comprise a tapering width. The second side textile portion 16
may comprise a horizontal axis of symmetry. In embodiments, the
second side textile portion 16 may further comprise a tapering
width.
[0021] In embodiments, the first end 18 may inhibit the tapering
width of the first side textile portion 14. In further embodiments,
the second end 20 may inhibit the tapering width of the second side
textile portion 16.
[0022] FIG. 3 displays a bottom view of the carrying garment 10 in
accordance with an embodiment. In embodiments, the bottom side may
be substantially symmetrical to the top side.
[0023] In embodiments, the attachment 22 may be located
substantially on the vertical axis of symmetry. In embodiments, the
attachment 22 may be a button. In embodiments, the button may vary
in shape such as, but not limited to circular, square, triangular,
ovular, and heart-shaped. In embodiments, the attachment 22 may be
a sewn-on button. In embodiments, the attachment 22 may be 5 inches
from the top edge of the center textile portion 12 and 15 inches
from the bottom edge of the center textile portion 12.
[0024] The center textile portion 12 may include a pocket 24. In
embodiments, the pocket 24 may be substantially a square shape. In
embodiments, the pocket 24 may have a shape other than that of a
square. In embodiments, the pocket 24 may comprise folded-over
sides. These folded-over sides may be sewn over and seams may be
created that may exist on one or more sides of the pocket 24. In
embodiments, the pocket 24 may be 4.5 inches in width and 5.5
inches in height. It will be understood that in other embodiments,
the dimensions may differ. In embodiments, the distance between the
pocket 24 and the attachment 22 may be 4.5 inches. It will be
understood that in other embodiments, the dimensions may differ. In
embodiments, the garment 10 may be absent an attachment 22. In
embodiments, the garment 10 may be absent a pocket 24. In
embodiments, the garment 10 may be absent both a pocket 24 and an
attachment 22.
[0025] FIG. 4A displays a side view of the carrying garment in
accordance with an embodiment. In embodiments, the carrying garment
10 may be 208 inches in length. It will be understood that in other
embodiments, the dimensions may differ. This may provide an ample
length for which an individual may carry items or other individuals
using the garment 10. In embodiments, the distance from the top
edge to the bottom edge of the center textile portion 12 may be 20
inches. It will be understood that in other embodiments, the
dimensions may differ.
[0026] FIG. 4B displays a zoomed-in side view of the carrying
garment 10 in accordance with an embodiment. The pocket 24 and
attachment 22 may be shown in more detail than what is shown in
FIG. 4A. The pocket 24 may be shown as being adjacent to the
garment 10. In embodiments, the pocket 24 may be sewn onto the
garment 10. The attachment 22 may be shown with a thread running
through the attachment 22 and into the garment 24. The thread may
secure the attachment 22 by being intertwined within the attachment
22 and the garment 10. This attachment setup may be referred to as
a "sewn-on" button.
[0027] FIG. 5 and FIG. 6 display side views of the carrying garment
10 in accordance with an embodiment. These views may show the
pocket 24 and the attachment 22 protruding from the top side of the
garment 10. In embodiments, the tapering widths of the first and
second side textile portions 14,16 may end at first and second ends
18,20. In embodiments, the first end 18 may comprise a height of 3
inches (found near the middle of the garment). It will be
understood that in other embodiments, the dimensions may differ. In
embodiments, the second end 20 may comprise a height of 3 inches.
It will be understood that in other embodiments, the dimensions may
differ. In embodiments, the first and second ends 18,20 may each
comprise heights other than 3 inches. In embodiments, the first and
second ends 18,20 may comprise substantially the same height. In
embodiments, the first and second ends 18,20 may each comprise
different heights.
[0028] An embodiment may include a garment. The garment may
comprise a textile structure having an elongated major front
surface and a first end. The major front surface may have a second
end opposite the first end. The second end may be disposed in
opposed relationship to the first end. An elongated, continuous top
edge may extend from the first end to the second end in
intersecting relationship therewith. An elongated continuous bottom
edge may extend from the first end to the second end in
intersecting relationship therewith. The bottom edge may be spaced
from the top edge in opposed relationship relative thereto.
[0029] The major front surface may have an elongated imaginary
major central axis that may extend from the first end to the second
end and may be defined intermediate the top edge and bottom edge in
equidistant relationship therewith. The major central axis may
further comprise a major central axis midpoint equidistant from the
first end and second end.
[0030] An imaginary minor central axis may extend from the top edge
to the bottom edge of the major front surface in perpendicular
relationship to the major central axis. The minor central axis may
have a minor central axis midpoint equidistant from the top edge
and bottom edge. The minor central axis midpoint may intersect the

central axis, the top edge may be spaced from the major central
axis by a top edge maximum height. At the first end, the top edge
may be spaced from the major central axis by a top edge minimum
height, while at the second end, the top edge may be spaced from
the major central axis by the top edge minimum height. In an
embodiment, the top edge of the central textile portion 12 may be
48 inches in length. It will be understood that in other
embodiments, the dimensions may differ. In an embodiment, the
bottom edge of the central textile portion 12 may be 48 inches in
length. It will be understood that in other embodiments, the
dimensions may differ.
[0031] The top edge may have a top edge first taper point
intermediate the minor central axis and first end. The top edge may
have the maximum height from the minor central axis to the top edge
first taper point. The top edge may taper from the maximum height
at the top edge first taper point to the minimum height at the
first end. The top edge may further comprise a top edge second
taper point intermediate the minor central axis and second end. The
top edge may comprise a maximum height extending from the minor
central axis to the top edge second taper point. The top edge may
taper from the maximum height at the top edge second taper point to
the minimum height at the second end.
[0032] At the minor central axis, the bottom edge may be spaced
from the major central axis by a bottom edge maximum depth. The
bottom edge may be spaced from the major central axis by a bottom
edge minimum depth at the first end and the second end. The bottom
edge may have a bottom edge first taper point intermediate the
minor central axis and first end. The bottom edge may have the
maximum depth from the minor central axis to the bottom edge first
taper point. The bottom edge may taper from the maximum depth at
the bottom edge first taper point to the minimum depth at the first
end.

may have the maximum depth from the minor central axis to the

second end, the major front surface has an overall length in the
range of 204 inches to 212 inches. In embodiments, the top edge may
have a maximum height of substantially 10 inches from the major

maximum depth of 10 inches from the major central axis. It will be
understood that in other embodiments, the dimensions may
differ.

defined by the top edge from the top edge first taper point to the
top edge second taper point. In embodiments, the center section top
edge may have a center section top edge length of substantially 48
inches (24 inches on each side of the minor central axis). It will
be understood that in other embodiments, the dimensions may differ.
The textile structure further has a central section bottom edge
defined by the bottom edge from the bottom edge first taper point
to the bottom edge second taper point. In embodiments, the center
section bottom edge may have a center section bottom edge length of
substantially 48 inches (24 inches on each side of the minor
central axis). It will be understood that in other embodiments, the
dimensions may differ.
[0036] The textile structure may comprise a continuous major rear
surface disposed in opposition to the major front surface. The
major rear surface may be a mirror image of the major front
surface. In embodiments, the major rear surface may not be a mirror
image of the major front surface. The textile structure may further
comprise one button mounted proximate to the major front surface at
the minor central axis. The textile structure may further comprise
one pocket defined by the textile structure and having an openable
mouth proximate the major front surface.

edge at the top edge first taper point that may taper toward the
major central axis at a top edge first taper angle in the range of
5.9 degrees to 6.6 degrees (based on the major front surface length
range of 204 to 212 inches). It will be understood that in other

edge at the top edge second taper point that may taper toward the
major central axis at a top edge second taper angle in the range of
5.9 degrees to 6.6 degrees (based on the major front surface length
