Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The present invention relates to a protective bag and, more
particularly, to a protective bag that can be secured to any beach
chair or object.
[0002] When going to or at the beach, a person may be carrying a
phone, a wallet, keys and other valuables. Certain valuables, such
as phones and leather wallets, may be destroyed if they come into
contact with water. Further, wallets, phones and keys may be easily
lost or may be covered in sand and become dirty.
[0003] As can be seen, there is a need for a protective device that
secures valuables while going to or at the beach.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0004] In one aspect of the present invention, a protective bag
comprises: a waterproof material comprising a front wall, a rear
wall, a first sidewall, a second sidewall, a top portion and a
bottom portion, wherein an opening is formed at the top portion
leading into an internal compartment; a waterproof sealer formed to
releasably open and close the opening; and at least one strap
attached to the rear wall and forming a loop, wherein the at least
one strap comprises a connector formed to releasably open and close
the loop.
[0005] These and other features, aspects and advantages of the
present invention will become better understood with reference to
the following drawings, description and claims.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0006] FIG. 1 is a perspective view of an embodiment of the present
invention with the flap open;
[0007] FIG. 2 is a perspective view of an embodiment of the present
invention with the flap closed; and
[0008] FIG. 3 is a perspective view of the bag of FIG. 1 attached
to a beach chair.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0009] The following detailed description is of the best currently
contemplated modes of carrying out exemplary embodiments of the
invention. The description is not to be taken in a limiting sense,
but is made merely for the purpose of illustrating the general
principles of the invention, since the scope of the invention is
best defined by the appended claims.
[0010] The present invention includes a water resistant insulated
carryall that is easily attachable to beach chairs or other
objects. A user may place their belongings, such as phones, wallets
and keys, within the water resistant insulated bag while the user
is at a beach. Therefore, the present invention may protect the
valuables from sand, water and prevents the user from misplacing
the valuables. Further, the present invention may be directly
attached to a beach chair and may thereby be easily in site.
[0011] Referring to FIGS. 1 through 3, the present invention
includes a protective carrying bag 20. The protective carrying bag
20 may be made out of a temperature insulating and a waterproof
material 1. The protective carrying bag 20 may include a front
wall, a rear wall, a first sidewall, a second sidewall, a top
portion and a bottom portion. An opening is formed at the top
portion leading into an internal compartment 7. A waterproof sealer
3 may be attached to the material 1 at the opening and may
releasably open and close the opening.
[0012] In certain embodiments, the present invention may include a
sealing cover flap 9. The sealing cover flap 9 may be attached to
the top portion and may fold over the opening and releasably attach
to at least one of the front wall and the rear wall. As illustrated
in FIG. 1, the flap 9 may fold over and attach to the front wall by
a hook 4 and loop 5 fastener. Therefore, the user may fold the flap
9 over the opening to further protect the contents within the
internal compartment 7. The present invention may further include
at least one strap 18. The at least one strap 18 may be attached to
the rear wall and may form a loop. The strap 18 may include a
connector 2 that may releasably open and close the loop. In certain
embodiments, the present invention may include two straps 18. A
first strap 18 may be attached to a first side of the rear wall and
a second strap 18 may be attached to a second side of the rear
wall. The connector 2 may be a clip, snaps, ties and the like.
Therefore a user may unclip the straps 18, wrap the straps 18
around an arm of a beach chair 30, and clip the clips back together
to attach the protective carrying bag 20 to the beach chair 30.
[0013] In certain embodiments, the waterproof sealer 3 may include
a zipper, ridge and channel connectors, or the like. In certain
embodiments, the present invention may include an internal pocket 8
within the internal compartment 7. The internal pocket 8 may be
small and may secure smaller items, such as makeup, money, keys,
and the like. The internal pocket 8 may be opened and closed by a
zipper. The inside pocket may secure the smaller items with the
water resistant zipper.
[0014] The present invention may further include a carrying strap
6. The carrying strap 6 includes a first end attached to the first
sidewall and a second end attached to the second sidewall. The
carrying strap 6 may be detachable and adjustable in length.
Therefore, the carrying strap 6 may be used to carry the protective
carrying bag 20 over a user's shoulders. Alternatively, the strap 6
may be wrapped around a user's waist.
[0015] A method of using the present invention may include the
following. A person would be able to use the present invention at
the beach or at any type of event. The present invention may attach
easily to a chair at the beach with adjustable straps for most size
chairs or used as a pouch that can be carried with the extra
adjustable strap on the shoulder or around the waist. A user's
personal items such as a phone, keys, lipstick, sunscreen, and the
like may be kept insulated and waterproof from the sun and sand.
The present invention may keep your valuables close to the user for
personal safety even while bringing a chair down to the water's
edge, sporting event, concerts, and the like.
[0016] It should be understood, of course, that the foregoing
relates to exemplary embodiments of the invention and that
modifications may be made without departing from the spirit and
scope of the invention as set forth in the following claims.
