Description

BACKGROUND OF THE DISCLOSURE

Field of the Disclosure

[0001] The disclosure relates to pillow devices and more particularly pertains to a new pillow device for providing the comfort and warmth of a down pillow while preventing uneven distribution and flat areas in the device during use.

SUMMARY OF THE DISCLOSURE

[0002] An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a cover having an upper panel and a lower panel. The upper panel is coupled to the lower panel defining an interior space. A stuffing mixture is enclosed in the interior space. The stuffing mixture comprises down feathers and a plurality of foam pieces.

[0003] There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.

[0004] The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0005] The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:

[0006] FIG. 1 is a partial cut-away top view of a pillow device according to an embodiment of the disclosure.

[0007] FIG. 2 is a top front side perspective view of an embodiment of the disclosure.

[0008] FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional view of an embodiment of the disclosure taken along line 3-3 of FIG. 2.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

[0009] With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 3 thereof, a new pillow device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.

[0010] As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 3, the pillow device 10 generally comprises a cover 12 having an upper panel 14 and a lower panel 16. The upper panel 14 is coupled to the lower panel 16 defining an interior space 18. The cover 12 is constructed of a cotton fabric material or the like. The cover 12 has an inwardly turned hem 20 extending around a perimeter edge 22 of the cover 12 between the upper panel 14 and the lower panel 16. A stuffing mixture 24 is enclosed in the interior space 18. The stuffing mixture 24 comprises a combination of down feathers 26 and a plurality of foam pieces 28. Each of the foam pieces 28 is irregularly shaped and is resiliently compressible promoting formation of spaces between and distribution of the down feathers 26 between the foam pieces 28. The stuffing mixture 24 may comprise substantially equal parts of the down feathers 26 and the foam pieces 28 by volume or substantially equal parts of the down feathers 26 and the foam pieces 28 by weight.

[0011] In use, the down feathers 26 and the foam pieces 28 are combined and positioned in the interior space 18 of the cover 12. The device 10 is then used in the same manner as a conventional pillow with the foam pieces 28 within the stuffing mixture 24 providing enhanced support and inhibiting excessive deformation of the device 10 while supporting a user's head.

[0012] With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.

[0013] Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure.
