Description
CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS
[0001] The present application claims the priority of Italian
Patent Application No. MI2014U000126, filed Mar. 31, 2014, the
contents of which are incorporated herein by reference.
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[0002] The present invention relates to a bottom base intended to
be filled with cosmetic products and inserted in outer containers
(primary packaging) made of plastic, glass or other material.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0003] In the prior art bottom bases are used, made of plastic or
metal (tinplate, aluminium, etc.), on which the cosmetic product is
pressed or cast, which generally have the rough aesthetic finish of
metal, or a coloured finish by glazing or given by the coloured
pigments of the plastic which they are made of.
[0004] Possibly, such bottom bases display, obtained by incision,
the logo or the name of the manufacturer. In general, however,
writing or other graphical markings using ink are not made because
the printing inks normally used can contaminate the cosmetic
product or, in any case, react with it, altering its properties.
Sometimes, however, it is desirable to be able to provide the
purchaser with a cosmetic product packaged in a container equipped
with a bottom base decorated on the inner surface intended to
receive the product itself, so that, if the cosmetic product is
substantially transparent or semi-transparent (consisting for
example of a gel substance), the decoration can be visible even
when the container is full, whereas if the cosmetic product is
opaque (for example in the form of powder, in anhydrous form,
non-transparent cream, etc.), the decoration becomes progressively
visible once the product is almost completely used up and the
surface of the bottom base begins to come into sight.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0005] The general purpose of the present invention is to avoid the
aforementioned drawbacks by providing a bottom base for cosmetic
products that makes it possible to appreciate a decoration thereof
placed on its inner surface when the cosmetic product contained
therein has not been used yet (if it is a transparent or
semi-transparent product) or it has been partially used (if it is
an opaque product), to a sufficient extent as to at least partially
let the surface of the bottom base appear.
[0006] In view of such a purpose, it has been devised, according to
the invention, a bottom base for cosmetic products, having an upper
surface intended to constitute a support for the cosmetic product
and a lower surface, opposite said upper surface, intended to rest
on the bottom of an outer container, characterised in that at least
one of said surfaces of the bottom base is decorated with
decorations made by thermal sublimation photographic printing.
[0007] According to the invention, it has also been devised a
package for cosmetic products, comprising an outer container, a
bottom base contained inside the container and having an upper
surface intended to constitute a support for a cosmetic product and
a lower surface, opposite said upper surface, intended to rest on
the bottom of the container, characterised in that at least one of
said surfaces of the bottom base is decorated with decorations made
by thermal sublimation photographic printing.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0008] In order to clarify the explanation of the innovative
principles of the present invention and its advantages with respect
to the prior art, hereafter a possible embodiment applying such
principles will be described, with the help of the attached
drawings. In the drawings:
[0009] FIG. 1 represents a general view of a container for cosmetic
products, with the bottom base inserted in it.
[0010] FIG. 2A schematically represents a view from above of a
bottom base according to the invention, having a decoration on its
surface designed to contain the cosmetic product.
[0011] FIG. 2B is a view like that of FIG. 2A, but represented
through a photographic image illustrating the aesthetical rendering
of a decoration applied on the surface of the bottom base according
to the invention.
[0012] FIG. 3A represents a view from above of a container for
cosmetic products with the bottom base of FIG. 2A present therein,
which is filled with a transparent or semi-transparent cosmetic
product.
[0013] FIG. 3B is a view like that of FIG. 3A, represented through
a photographic image illustrating the aesthetical rendering of a
decoration applied on the surface of the bottom base according to
the invention, visible through a transparent or semi-transparent
cosmetic product.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0014] With reference to the figures, FIG. 1 illustrates a
container 10 for cosmetic products, which represents the primary
packaging of the product itself. The container 10 can be made, as
well known to the person skilled in the art, with the most
appropriate shape and of the most appropriate material for the
specific marketing requirements. For example, it could be made of
plastic, glass, metal or another suitable material. Inside the
container 10, a bottom base 11 is housed for supporting and
containing a cosmetic product.
[0015] Advantageously, the container 10 is also equipped with a
closing lid 12 to protect the cosmetic product contained
therein.
[0016] In the case where the container 10 and/or the lid 12 are
made of glass or of transparent plastic, the cosmetic product may
be visible from the outside.
[0017] FIG. 2A separately illustrates the bottom base 11, having a
shape and size suitable for being inserted in the outer container
10 and for adequately supporting the cosmetic product.
Advantageously, the bottom base can be made of metal.
[0018] The bottom base 11 has an upper surface 13, intended to face
towards the inside of the container 10 and to constitute a support
for the cosmetic product, and an opposite lower surface (not
visible in the figures) intended to rest on the bottom of the
container 10.
[0019] According to the invention, at least one of the surfaces of
the bottom base 11, typically the upper surface 13 intended to
constitute a support for the cosmetic product, is decorated with
decorations 14 made by thermal sublimation photographic
printing.
[0020] As well known to the person skilled in the art, the thermal
sublimation photographic printing process, or thermal transfer,
exploits a transfer process of the colour (in the form of a polymer
in solid state) by direct transition from solid state to aeriform
state at a temperature normally around 400.degree. C., which allows
its firm and long-lasting attachment to the support to be
decorated. This technique is widely used, for example, for printing
on fabrics.
[0021] It has been found that, by using this printing technology on
bottom bases for cosmetic products, it is possible to obtain the
desired decorations without the product itself being contaminated,
or altered in its chemical-physical properties, by the pigment that
constitutes the decoration.
[0022] By "decoration" it is intended here any graphical image,
photograph, illustration, drawing, writing (mono-, bi- or
poly-chromatic), made by the aforementioned thermal sublimation
photographic printing process.
[0023] In FIG. 2B it is possible to see, by a photographic
illustration, the real aesthetical rendering of an example
decoration 14 applied onto the upper surface 13 of the bottom base
according to the invention.
[0024] FIGS. 3A and 3B show schematically and by a real
photographic illustration respectively, the assembly of the
container 10 and bottom base 11 filled with cosmetic product 15 in
the form of transparent substance. The attractive visual effect
that the package of cosmetic product as a whole can have is clearly
visible from FIG. 3B.
[0025] In the case of cosmetic product in form of opaque substance,
as stated, the image printed on the bottom base 11 will gradually
appear through the use of the product, when the surface 13 of the
bottom base is uncovered.
[0026] It is clear how making a bottom base according to the
invention makes it possible to obtain a package for cosmetic
products with an added value in terms of good appearance and
enjoyability during use.
[0027] Of course, the description made above of an embodiment
applying the innovative principle of the present invention is given
as an example of such innovative principles and therefore should
not be taken to limit the scope of protection claimed here.
[0028] For example, according to the invention, it is possible for
the decoration by thermal sublimation photographic printing to
also, or only, cover the lower surface of the bottom base, designed
to rest on the bottom of the container 10, if the container itself
was made of glass or another transparent material, and it was
wished to propose a decoration specifically linked to the product
contained in the bottom base, without having to specifically
provide a primary container that is necessarily intended for it,
said primary container therefore being able to be totally generic
and for universal use also for other products supported by bottom
bases of the same shape and size.
