Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0001] 1. Field of the Invention
[0002] The present invention relates to a range hood, more
specifically, to a range hood that provides a filter screen which
may not only be secured easily but also be replaced quickly.
[0003] 2. Description of the Prior Art
[0004] The A range hood is a sort of kitchen equipment for removing
airborne grease, combustion products, fumes, steam and odors
produced from indoor cooking. A prior art range hood generally
contains a casing, at least one motor, at least one fan and a
protective net; wherein said motor is configured inside the casing,
and the drive axle of said motor is connected with the center of
said fan to drive said fan to rotate so that said fan may axially
suck fumes, and then, by the centrifugal force, the fumes may be
exhausted; wherein said protective net is arranged under the fume
inlet so as to prevent the users from stretching their hands into
the fan to keep safe. When in use, said fan may rotate at high
speed to produce suction force so as to upwards extract the fumes
thereunder, and thus the fumes may be removed through the fume
outlet. In order to increase the fume-exhaust filtering efficiency,
certain of prior art range hoods are provided with an activated
carbon filter screen for filtering and purifying fumes; wherein the
activated carbon filter screen is arranged under the aforesaid
protective net, so that the fumes may be exhausted through the
aforementioned filter screen which may absorb and purify the fumes;
thus, the fumes may even exhaust indoors instead of being removed
outside after being filtered and purified.
[0005] However, said prior art range hoods have certain drawbacks
described as follows: it is not convenient for the users to change;
when said prior art activated carbon filter screen needs to be
replaced, it cannot be detached without tools; moreover, said
casing easily gathers oil stains so that the users may get their
hands dirty with oil stains when the activated carbon filter screen
is replaced. Thus, replacing said prior art activated carbon filter
screen becomes not only inconvenient but also time consuming. It is
against the background and the drawbacks associated therewith that
the present invention has been developed.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0006] The object of the present invention is to provide a range
hood provided with a filter screen that may not only be secured
easily but also be replaced quickly.
[0007] In order to achieve the aforementioned objective, the
present invention characterized in that said fixation holder
configured under said filter screen has one end pivotally connected
with a hollow joint of said partition plate inside the bottom
portion of said casing, the other end clasped with a resilient
hooked plate of said partition plate, and a middle section holding
said filter screen. Therefore, the present invention provides a
function that said filter screen may be secured and replaced not
only easily but also quickly.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
[0016] The means for achieving the aforesaid objective and the
functions of the present invention will become apparent from the
following description, taken in connection with the accompanying
drawings, wherein a preferred embodiment of the present invention
is disclosed.
[0017] Referring to FIGS. 1 to 3, the range hood disclosed in the
present invention comprises as follows:
[0018] A casing 1 has a concave hollow bottom portion of which the
interior is arranged with a partition plate 2 to form a hollow
chamber 10. The top surface of said casing 1 and the back plate la
of said casing 1 are respectively provided with a fume outlet 11
connecting said chamber 10. Said outlet 11 may be opened or closed
according to the work area where the range hood is mounted and the
needs of the users. However, one of said fume outlets 11 must keep
open. The bottom surface of said partition plate 2 is provided with
a fume inlet 20.
[0019] A motor 3, of which the top surface is fixed to the
aforementioned casing 1, is provided with a drive axle 30 secured
to the center of a fan 4; said fan 4 is configured inside the
aforementioned chamber 10 and has a bottom end corresponding to
said fume inlet 20. When rotating, said fan 4 may axially suck
fumes into said chamber 10, and then, by the centrifugal force, the
fumes may be exhausted through said fume outlet 11.
[0020] A protective net 5 arranged under said fume inlet 20, is
provided with an outer margin fastened to the bottom surface of
said partition plate 2.
[0021] A filter screen 6, which is an activated carbon filter
screen for absorbing, filtering and purifying fumes, is arranged
under said protective net 5.
[0022] A fixation holder 7, fashioned into the shape of a trapezoid
and configured under said filter screen 6, provides a bottom base
70 which has two sides respectively disposed with a pivot pin 71
protruding outward so as to be pivotally connected with a hollow
joint 21 of said partition plate 2; wherein, said hollow joint 21
and the body of said partition plate 2 are formed in an integral
stamping mode. Moreover, said fixation holder 7 is also provided
with a top base 72 clasped with a resilient hooked plate 22 of said
partition plate 2. Said resilient hooked plate 22, having a curved
shape, is formed with the body of said partition plate 2 in an
integral stamping mode. Wherein, the back of said resilient hooked
plate 22 is arranged toward said joint 21. The middle section 73 of
said fixation holder 7 may hold said filter screen 6.
[0023] A screen cover 8, configured under said filter screen 6, as
shown in FIG. 5, has one end placed onto a folded lip lb of the
bottom margin of said the back plate 1a; wherein said folded lip 1b
is flat folded toward the inner side of the casing 1. Moreover, the
other end of said screen cover 8 is arranged with a retractable pin
80 allowed to extend outwards to be inserted into a hole of said
casing 1 so that said screen cover 8 may be secured to said casing
1. Wherein, said retractable pin 80 is controlled by a hand-pull
plate 81 to be able to withdraw inwards so as to be unfastened.
[0024] Referring to FIG. 2, FIG. 4 and FIG. 5, the range hood
disclosed in the present invention includes the aforementioned
members. When the range hood is in use, said fan 4 may rotate at
high speed to produce suction force so as to upwards extract the
fumes thereunder. The fumes may pass said screen cover 8 and said
filter screen 6 so as to allow the fumes to be absorbed, filtered
and purified; the filtered and purified fumes may enter the chamber
10 through said protective net 5 and said fume inlet 20, and then
the fumes may be removed through said fume outlet 11. Said fume
outlets 11 may be opened or closed according to the work area where
the range hood is mounted and the needs of the users. If the
filtered fumes are exhausted indoors, a fume filter arrangement may
be configured at said fume outlet 11 to increase the filtering
efficiency.
[0025] When said filter screen 6 needs to be replaced, the user may
pull said top base 72 of said fixation holder 7 outward to enable
said top base 72 to detach from the resilient hooked plate 22 of
said partition plate 2 so as to allow said middle section 73 of
said fixation holder 7 to release said filter screen 6, and thus
the user may take down said filter screen 6 and replace it with a
new filter screen; next, the user may turn said top base 72 of said
fixation holder 7 to clasp said resilient hooked plate 22 of said
partition plate 2 so as to fix the new filter screen 6. Therefore,
the present invention provides a function that said filter screen 6
may be secured and replaced not only easily but also quickly.
[0026] Moreover, the bottom surface of the partition plate 2
disposed in a range hood may be arranged with two or more than two
fume inlets 20. As mentioned above, a protective net 5, a filter
screen 6, a fixation holder 7, and a screen cover 8 may be arranged
in sequence under each of said fume inlets 20. The structures of
said members and the assembling mode thereof are also the same as
the mentioned above.
[0027] It will be appreciated by those skilled in the art that
variations and modifications to the invention described herein will
be apparent without departing from the spirit and scope thereof.
The variations and modifications as would be apparent to persons
skilled in the art are deemed to fall within the broad scope and
ambit of the invention as herein set forth.
