[0002] (1) Field of Invention
[0003] The present invention relates to false eyelashes, and more
particularly to eyelash extensions having multiple roots for
applying the eyelash extensions to a user's eyelashes.
[0004] (2) Description of Related Art
[0005] Beauty products have long been known in the art. Users,
women in particular, have sought a variety of beauty products to
enhance their aesthetic, appearance. For example, blush is often
used to add color to a woman's cheeks. As another example, lipstick
is traditionally used to add a variety of colors and features to a
user's lips. To enhance the appearance of a user's eyelashes, the
user often applies mascara. Mascara is applied to the user's
eyelashes to both thicken and bring color to the eyelashes.
[0006] As an alternative to mascara, a user can apply
adhesive-backed false eyelashes. The adhesive-backed false
eyelashes typically consist of a tape-like material with a
plurality of eyelashes affixed thereto. The tape-like material can
be applied to the user's eyelid to add the appearance of thick and
hill eyelashes.
[0007] A problem with adhesive-backed false eyelashes is that they
typically do not look natural and because of their bulk, cannot be
worn comfortably for extended periods of time.
[0008] Therefore, there is a continuing need for eyelash extensions
that look, natural and that can be worn comfortably for extended
periods of time.
SUMMARY OF INVENTION
[0009] The present invention is directed to eyelash extensions
having double tapered ends for applying the eyelash extensions to a
user's eyelashes.
[0010] Finally, as can be appreciated by one in the art, the
present invention also comprises a method for forming and using the
invention described herein.

[0023] (1) Description
[0024] The present invention relates to false eyelashes, and more
particularly to eyelash extensions having multiple roots for
applying the eyelash extensions to a user's eyelashes. In short,
the eyelash extension is formed of multiple synthetic lashes that
are attached to one another using any suitable attachment
technique, such as being glued, melted, etc. While some of the
individual lashes may be cut to a blunt end, at least one on each
end is tapered. Importantly and in another aspect, the eyelash
extension is formed of a plurality of individual filaments (e.g.,
lashes) that are adhered to one another in a manner such that a gap
exists between the ends of at least two of the individual
filaments, thereby forming multiple roots or, in another aspect,
multiple heads, These aspects are depicted further in the
figures.
[0025] FIG. 1, for example, is an illustration depicting various
forms of single lashes that can be joined with one another to form
an eyelash extension with multiple roots according to the
principles of the present invention. The eyelashes can be formed of
any shape, thickness, length, color, curvature, etc., provided that
the resulting product is an eyelash extension with multiple roots.
For example, the multiple roots lashes can be formed of single
eyelashes (filaments) having double tapered ends 100, a regular
eyelash 102 having a. tapered end 101 and a blunt end 103, a
tapered cut eyelash 104 haying a tapered cut end 105 and a blunt
end 107, or a double tapered cut eyelash 106 having two tapered cut
ends 109, or a tapered cut tapered lash 110, haying a tapered cut
end 112 and a tapered end 114, or any combination thereof Thus, as
can be appreciated, the invention can be formed of filaments having
any suitable configuration, provided that the resulting eyelash
extension has multiple roots.
[0026] For example, FIG. 2 is an illustration depicting various
lashes with multiple roots and a single head. The eyelash extension
can be formed to have any number of roots, non-limiting examples of
which include 2, 3, 4, 5, etc. For example, FIG. 2 illustrates an
aspect of the eyelash 200 with three roots 202, where two of the
roots are tapered ends and one of the roots is a tapered cut.
Additionally, illustrated is an aspect of the eyelash 204 with two
tapered roots 205. Further, also illustrated is an aspect of the
eyelash 206 with three roots 207, where two of the roots are
tapered ends and one of the roots is a blunt end. It should also be
noted that the individual filaments (e.g., lashes) can be attached
with one another such that the root ends either align with one
another or protrude to any desired length beyond one another. For
example, some of the individual filaments can be shorter or longer
than one another to vary the root lengths, as illustrated.
[0027] Thus and as noted above, the lashes according to the
principles of the present invention are formed by adhering at least
two filaments with one another. FIG. 3 provides an illustration
clearly depicting the individual filaments as being attached with
one another. Although FIG. 3 illustrates individual filaments of
various colors, it should be noted that any suitable number, color,
shape, curvature, size, thickness, etc. can be incorporated and
attached with one another, in any combination thereof, according to
the principles of the present invention. As a nonlimiting and as
shown in FIG. 3, the individual filaments can be attached with one
another to form an eyelash extension that includes multiple roots
and multiple heads (e.g., with a gap existing between the head tips
to form the multiple heads). For example, the individual filaments
can be attached such that the heads of each filament are
approximately even 300 with one another, are uneven 302 with
different lengths, are of different lengths and protrude from one
another to form multiple heads of different lengths 304, and are of
similar lengths yet. protrude from one another to form multiple
heads of similar lengths 306, or any combination thereof. Thus, any
desired number of filaments, of varying lengths, attachment points,
colors, etc., can be attached with one another. For example and as
illustrated in FIG. 4, the filaments can be attached with one
another to form multiple roots with multiple heads 400. The
non-limiting examples as illustrated in FIG. 4 depict three roots
with three heads, however, it should be understood that any desired
number of filaments can be attached, with the filaments attached in
any desired configuration and combination.
