Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0001] 1. Field of the Invention
[0002] A personal training system that includes a set of resistance
bands and customized handles to provide a full body workout from
the comfort and privacy of home.
[0003] 2. Description of Related Art
[0004] Resistance bands are popular pieces of strength training
equipment that allow individuals to build and tone their muscles
with a simple elongated strap. Most resistance bands are made from
a durable rubber strap or an elongated piece of elastic able to
withstand repeated stretching and relaxing. Many people enjoy the
convenience of utilizing the bands because they are easy to store
and transport compared to conventional strengthening pieces like
barbells, kettlebells or hand weights. Because they are basically a
flexible, elongated strap, people can easily take the bands
wherever they go for an instant workout.
[0005] Some resistance bands include a handle to pull and release
the strap. The handle allows the user to attach one end to a static
structure and then hold the handle at the other end. This allows
the users to manipulate the band back and forth while grasping the
handle. While the handle is more convenient for the user than
simply using the band, the handles do not allow for functional
movements like kicks, punches or large swinging arm and leg
movements. The user must continuously grasp the handle otherwise
risk injury to themselves or surrounding items if control is lost
in grip.
[0006] It would be beneficial in the art to provide a resistance
band training system that further allows for functional movements
like punching and kicking It would also be desirable in the art to
provide a resistance band training system that enables exchange
between different handles for easy transition between
exercises.

resistance band training system, configured to include all of the
advantages of the prior art, and to overcome the drawbacks inherent
therein.
[0008] Accordingly, an object of the present invention is to
provide a resistance band training system that includes multiple
resistance bands and handles to allow the user to exchange between
various exercises all in the convenience of the user's home.
[0009] Another object of the present invention is to provide a
resistance band training system that allows a user to attach the
resistance bands to the user rather than requiring them to grasp
the handles.
[0010] Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a
resistance band training system that allows attachment to a user's
leg for lower body exercises.
[0011] To achieve the above objects, in an aspect of the present
invention, a resistance band training system is described
comprising a set of resistance bands, where the set includes a

attachment end 14 may be fastened to a static structure like a
doorknob, handle, piece of furniture or piece of exercise
equipment. The attachment end 14 may be a loop or a strap of fabric
secured with a hook and loop fastener, commonly known as
Velcro.RTM.. The doorknob is inserted through an opening 16 within
the attachment end 14.
[0023] When the attachment end 14 is fastened to the static
structure the user may pull on the second attachment end 18 to
stretch the strap 12. The second attachment end 18 includes a
handle 20 for the user to grip while exercising. The handle 20 may
include a foam or neoprene cover for a comfortable feel against the
user's hand. During use, the user attaches the first attachment end
14 to the doorknob or furniture. Then they grasp the handle 20 to
pull and stretch the strap 12. The resistance band 10 provides the
user with a counter force to as they pull. The counter force
assists the user to gain strength in the arms and back depending on
the angle and direction they pull.
