COMBUSTION DEVICE FOR OUTDOOR FLAME HEATER

Abstract

An improvement of combustion device for outdoor flame heater direct to combustion device improvement below a glass tube comprises a burner having a gas distribution room in middle thereof and a plurality of flame holes at top surface thereof. Moreover, a cover covers a top of the burner to delimit an air distribution room therebetween, and has a plurality of airflow holes at a peripheral thereof; the air distribution room is provided for mixing and flaming up the combustion gas with the air, forming a huge flame row, in order to enhance combustion efficiency. Therefore, the flame emitted from the gas flame outlet along the glass tube up to the top outlet of the heat-resistant net tube by chimney effect to enhance the heating, safe and easy maintenance effects.

Claims



1. An improvement of combustion device for outdoor flame heater, comprising: a housing providing an inside space for installing a gas barrel; a base mounted on the housing and having a gas intake tube and a gas control switch; a burner arranged on the base; a plurality of support members having a bottom end fixed on the housing for delimiting a mounted space between the pluralities of support members; a glass tube arranged in the mounted space; wherein the burner has a gas distribution room in middle thereof; the gas distribution room includes a plurality of flame holes at a top surface thereof and a flange surface at a periphery thereof for fixing on the base by a screw; a bottom surface of the gas distribution room is connected to the gas intake tube; and a cover larger than the burner covering on the burner to delimit an air distribution room between the burner and the cover and having a plurality of airflow holes at a peripheral thereof; a top of the cover corresponding to a tube diameter of the glass tube has a recessed mounted hole for positioning a bottom surface of the glass tube; the glass tube having a lower opening located at a top of the plurality of flame holes and the air distribution room for the combustion gas from the plurality of flame holes mixing and flaming up with the air in the air distribution room.

2. The improvement of combustion device for outdoor flame heater as claimed in claim 1, wherein the housing has a front side corresponding to the base has an opening and the base has a front side exposed to the opening.

The improvement of combustion device for outdoor flame heater as claimed in claim 2, wherein the flange surface of the burner has a plurality of screw holes thereon; the periphery of the cover corresponding to the flange surface has an extended convex ring surface having an external periphery fixed on a support plate of top of the housing; the convex ring surface corresponding to the screw holes has a plurality of positioning holes for the convex ring surface to be locked on the flange surface and for the burner and base to be fixed under the cover.

4. The improvement of combustion device for outdoor flame heater as claimed in claim 3, wherein the burner and the base are detached from the cover and pulled out from the opening of the housing when the plurality of screws are removed.

The improvement of combustion device for outdoor flame heater as claimed in claim 1, the gas distribution room of the burner is a hollow body composed of an upper stamping plate and a lower stamping plate and the plurality of flame holes are tubular holes integrally molded with the stamping plate.

6. The improvement of combustion device for outdoor flame heater as claimed in claim 1, wherein the recessed mounted hole of the cover includes an annular support surface at a bottom edge thereof for positioning the glass tube.

7. The improvement of combustion device for outdoor flame heater as claimed in claim 1, further comprising several pieces of protective wire mesh fixing between the pluralities of support members.

The improvement of combustion device for outdoor flame heater as claimed in claim 1, wherein the glass tube includes an upper opening having a section of heat-resistant net tube; the heat-resistant net tube includes countless meshes at a periphery thereof, a lid body at an upper end thereof and a bottom outlet connected to the upper opening of the glass tube; a bowl-shaped body has a bottom locked at a top of the lid body by a bolt and a multitude of circulation holes at a periphery thereof.

The improvement of combustion device for outdoor flame heater as claimed in claim 8, wherein the heat-resistant net tube further includes an annular sleeve body having a bottom edge forming an inserted hole for inserting the upper opening of the glass tube and the inserted hole has a plurality elastic piece at a periphery thereof.

10. The improvement of combustion device for outdoor flame heater as claimed in claim 8, wherein the bowl-shaped body has a top connected to a reflection cover.
Description



BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] 1. Field of the Invention

[0002] The invention relates to an outdoor flame heater, and more particularly to the combustion device improvement below a glass tube to enhance combustion efficiency, easy maintenance and high security.

[0003] 2. Description of the Related Art

[0004] With reference to FIGS. 1A through 1C, US Patent Public No. 2010/0236544 A1 discloses an outdoor flame heater 100 comprising: a bottom housing 10 being composed of a set of four lower support members 11, a set of four panels 12, and other relative members for installing a gas barrel (not shown); a control box 13 releasing a flame to a gas flame outlet 141 of a base 14 on a top of control box 13; a set of four upper support members 15 together with a plurality of protection guards 16 forming a space for installing a glass tube 17; and a reflector 19 mounted onto a damper 191 and the damper 191 mounted on the upper plate 18 being affixed to the upper support members 15.

[0005] Base on the prior features disclosed, a flame F in the glass tube 17 is extended upward by the chimney effect, and the thermal energy radiates from the glass tube 17 while an upper outlet 171 of the glass tube 17 discharges an exhausted gas. Such flame heater 100 not only has a heating function but provides a visual perception of exuberant vitality by looking at the flaming flame. The flame heater 100 also increases the atmosphere and decoration. According to the safety regulations, the overall height of the flame heater 100 is at least 200 cm above to avoid people being in danger of the flame from a top end of the glass tube 17.

[0006] Therefore, the kind of flame heater 100 has some drawbacks; for example, the height of the flame heater demanded over 200 cm to comply with the safety regulations but the height hl of the flame F reaches only 1/2.about.2/3 height of the glass tube 17 by a ceramic burner 142 as sown in FIG. 1C; such that there is no flame at an upper region h2 of the glass tube 17, resulting in low temperature at the upper region h2 of the glass tube 17 and affecting the heating effect. Moreover, ceramic burner 142 is arranged inside the base 14, which is difficult to maintain. Therefore, there is room for improvement.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0007] It is a primary object of the present invention to provide an improvement of combustion device for outdoor flame heater, which provides a combustion device to enhance the combustion efficiency and the outdoor heating effect, and has a safe and easy maintenance effect.

[0008] In order to achieve the above object, the invention includes: a housing providing an inside space for installing a gas barrel; a base mounted on the housing and having a gas intake tube and a gas control switch; a burner arranged on the base; a plurality of support members having a bottom end fixed on the housing for delimiting a mounted space between the pluralities of support members; a glass tube arranged in the mounted space;

[0009] wherein the burner has a gas distribution room in middle thereof; the gas distribution room includes a plurality of flame holes at a top surface thereof and a flange surface at a periphery thereof for fixing on the base by a screw; a bottom surface of the gas distribution room is connected to the gas intake tube; and

[0010] a cover larger than the burner covering on the burner to delimit an air distribution room between the burner and the cover and having a plurality of airflow holes at a peripheral thereof; a top of the cover corresponding to a tube diameter of the glass tube has a recessed mounted hole for positioning a bottom surface of the glass tube; the glass tube having a lower opening located at a top of the plurality of flame holes and the air distribution room for the combustion gas from the plurality of flame holes mixing and flaming up with the air in the air distribution room.

[0011] Based on the features disclosed, the housing has a front side corresponding to the base has an opening and the base has a front side exposed to the opening. The flange surface of the burner has a plurality of screw holes thereon; the periphery of the cover corresponding to the flange surface has an extended convex ring surface having an external periphery fixed on a support plate of top of the housing; the convex ring surface corresponding to the screw holes has a plurality of positioning holes for the convex ring surface to be locked on the flange surface and for the burner and base to be fixed under the cover.

[0012] Further, the burner and the base are detached from the cover and pulled out from the opening of the housing when the plurality of screws is removed.

[0013] Further, the gas distribution room of the burner is a hollow body composed of an upper stamping plate and a lower stamping plate and the plurality of flame holes are tubular holes integrally molded with the stamping plate.

[0014] Further, the recessed mounted hole of the cover includes an annular support surface at a bottom edge thereof for positioning the glass tube.

[0015] Furthermore, the glass tube includes an upper opening having a section of heat-resistant net tube; the heat-resistant net tube includes countless meshes at a periphery thereof, a lid body at an upper end thereof and a bottom outlet connected to the upper opening of the glass tube; a bowl-shaped body has a bottom locked at a top of the lid body by a bolt and a multitude of circulation holes at a periphery thereof. The bowl-shaped body has a top connected to a reflection cover. The heat-resistant net tube further includes an annular sleeve body having a bottom edge forming an inserted hole for inserting the upper opening of the glass tube and the inserted hole has a plurality elastic piece at a periphery thereof.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

[0024] Referring to FIGS. 2 through 8, the preferred embodiment of an improvement of combustion device for outdoor flame heater in accordance with the present invention comprises: a housing 20 providing an inside space 21 for installing a gas barrel, a base 30 mounted on the housing 20 and having a gas intake tube 44 and a gas control switch 45, a burner 40 arranged on the base 30 and having a lighting device 47 at a side edge thereof, a plurality of support members 22 having a bottom end fixed on the housing 20 for delimiting a mounted space 23 between the pluralities of support members 22 and a glass tube 60 arranged in the mounted space 23. The glass tube 60 may be made of quartz glass which is heat-resistant. In this embodiment, the present invention comprises several pieces of protective wire mesh 25 fixing between the pluralities of support members 22 to avoid contacting to the high-temperature glass tube 60. However, the structure disclosed is a prior art and thus will not be described in details here.

[0025] The present invention is characterized in that the burner 40 has a gas distribution room 41 in middle thereof; the gas distribution room 41 includes a plurality of flame holes 42 at a top surface thereof and a flange surface 43 at a periphery thereof for fixing on the base 30 by a screw 48; a bottom surface of the gas distribution room 41 is connected to the gas intake tube 44. Moreover, the gas intake tube 44 is connected to the gas control switch 45 and a knob 46 arranged outside of the base 30. In the embodiment, the gas distribution room 41 of the burner 40 is a hollow body composed of an upper stamping plate 41a and a lower stamping plate 41b and the plurality of flame holes 42 are tubular holes integrally molded with the stamping pressed plate 41a.

[0026] A cover 50 larger than the burner 40 covers on the burner 40 to delimit an air distribution room 53 between the cover 50 and the burner 40. The cover 50 includes a plurality of airflow holes 52 at a peripheral thereof and a top thereof corresponding to a tube diameter of the glass tube 60 has a recessed mounted hole 51 for positioning a bottom surface of the glass tube 60. The glass tube 60 includes a lower opening 61 located at a top of the plurality of flame holes 42 and the air distribution room 53 for the combustion gas F from the plurality of flame holes 42 mixing and flaming up with the air A in the air distribution room 53, in order to enhance combustion efficiency.

[0027] In this embodiment, the housing 20 has a front side corresponding to the base 30 has an opening 26 and the base 30 has a front side exposed to the opening 26. The flange surface 43 of the burner 40 has a plurality of screw holes 431 thereon; the periphery of the cover 50 corresponding to the flange surface 43 has an extended convex ring surface 54 having an external periphery fixed on a support plate 24 of top of the housing 20; the convex ring surface 54 corresponding to the screw holes 431 has a plurality of positioning holes 541 for the convex ring surface 54 to be locked on the flange surface 43 and for the burner 40 and base 30 to be fixed under the cover 50. When removing the plurality of screws 55, the burner 40 and the base 30 are detached from the cover 50 and pulled out from the opening 26 of the housing 20 as shown in FIG.

[0028] With the referenced to FIGS. 5 and 6, the recessed mounted hole 51 of the cover 50 includes an annular support surface 511 at a bottom edge thereof for positioning the glass tube 60. The glass tube 60 includes an upper opening 62 having a section of heat-resistant net tube 70; the heat-resistant net tube 70 includes countless meshes 71 at a periphery thereof, a lid body 74 at an upper end thereof and a bottom outlet 72 connected to the upper opening 62 of the glass tube 60; a bowl-shaped body 80 has a bottom locked at a top of the lid body 74 by a bolt 81 and a multitude of circulation holes 82 at a periphery thereof.

[0029] In the embodiment, the heat-resistant net tube 70 further includes an annular sleeve body 75 having a bottom edge forming an inserted hole 76 for inserting the upper opening 62 of the glass tube 60 and the inserted hole 76 has a plurality elastic pieces at a periphery thereof for positioning the upper opening 62 of the glass tube 60. Moreover, a top of the bowl-shaped body 80 is connected to a reflection cover 90 locked by a plurality of screws 91. The reflection cover 90 is hollow 92 at a top thereof for distributing exhaust.

[0030] With the referenced to FIGS. 7 and 8, the flame F emitted from the plurality of flame holes 42 along the glass tube 60 up to the top outlet 73 of the heat-resistant net tube 70 by chimney effect to heat the heat-resistant net tube 70, and after accumulating the heat, the heat-resistant net tube 70 produces infrared IR to increase the radiation thermal of the glass tube 60; an exhaust gas in the glass tube 60 outflows from the meshes 71 of the heat-resistant net tube 70 to the circulation hole 82 of the bowl-shaped body 80 and discharges upward.

[0031] Base on the technical features disclosed, compering to the ceramic burner 142 of the conventional outdoor flame heater 100, the burner 40 of an outdoor flame heater in accordance with the present invention has the following differences:

[0032] 1. The present invention provides a combustion device having the burner 40 with the gas distribution room 41, and the burner 40 shaped like a flying saucer mounted on the top of the base 30. When removing the plurality of screws 55, the burner 40 and the base 30 are detached from the cover 50 and pulled out from the opening 26 of the housing 20 and thus it is easy for repairing.

[0033] With the referenced to FIGS. 5 and 6, the burner 40 of the combustion device has the cover 50 on a top thereof to delimit the air distribution room 53 between the burner 40 and the cover 50, and the cover 50 has the plurality of airflow holes 52 at a peripheral thereof. Moreover, the top of the cover 50 corresponding to the tube diameter of the glass tube 60 has a recessed mounted hole 51, and the lower opening 61 of the glass tube 60 is located on the plurality of flame holes 42 and the air distribution room 53; such that the combustion gas F from the plurality of flame holes 42 is mixed and flamed up with the air A in the air distribution room 53, and the mutual series connection of the plurality of flame holes 42 on the top surface of the gas distribution room 41 forms a huge flame row. Comparing with the ceramic burner 142 of the conventional outdoor flame heater 100 as shown in FIG. 1C, the present invention has better combustion efficiency. With reference to FIG. 7, the flame height hl of the conventional ceramic burner 142 can only reach to 1/2 to 2/3 height of the glass tube 60. However, the flame height h2 of the combustion device of the present invention can be increased, at least more than 1/3 flame height, to enhance the heating effect.
