Posterior-Lifting Garment and Methods of Assembling The Same
Abstract
Disclosed herein are posterior-lifting garments for supporting a
buttocks of a wearer, the posterior-lifting garments comprising a
pant garment comprising a lift attachment positioned at an upper
portion of the pant garment above the buttocks of the wearer; and a
posterior-lifting article having a first end and a second end;
wherein the first end of the posterior-lifting article is attached
to a lower portion of the pant garment; and wherein the second end
of the posterior-lifting article is configured to attach to the
lift attachment and to provide traction pulling the lower portion
of the pant garment toward the upper portion of the pant garment so
as to more closely conform the pant garment to the buttocks and
provide support for the buttocks. Methods of assembling the
posterior-lifting garments are also disclosed.

Claims
1. A posterior-lifting garment for supporting a buttocks of a
wearer, the posterior-lifting garment comprising: a pant garment
comprising a lift attachment positioned at an upper portion of the
pant garment above the buttocks of the wearer; and a
posterior-lifting article having a first end and a second end;
wherein the first end of the posterior-lifting article is attached
to a lower portion of the pant garment; and wherein the second end
of the posterior-lifting article is configured to attach to the
lift attachment and to provide traction pulling the lower portion
of the pant garment toward the upper portion of the pant garment so
as to more closely conform the pant garment to the buttocks and
provide support for the buttocks.
2. The posterior-lifting garment of claim 1, wherein the
posterior-lifting article comprises elastic.
3. The posterior-lifting garment of claim 1, wherein the pant
garment further comprises a guide member; and wherein the
posterior-lifting article is configured to extend along the guide
member of the pant garment.
4. The posterior-lifting garment of claim 3, wherein the guide
member comprises a channel or a sleeve.
5. The posterior-lifting garment of claim 4, wherein the pant
garment is a pair of pants, a pair of jeans, or a pair of
shorts.
6. The posterior-lifting garment of claim 4, wherein the pant
garment comprises denim, twill, or woven fabric.
7. The posterior-lifting garment of claim 4, wherein the pant
garment further comprises a crotch seam, and wherein the guide
member is on a posterior side of the crotch seam.
8. The posterior-lifting garment of claim 4, wherein the guide
member is attached to the pant garment using one of a group
consisting of sewing, adhering, zipping, buttoning, snapping, heat
sealing, welding, gluing, bonding, laser cutting, and combinations
thereof.
9. The posterior-lifting garment of claim 4, wherein the guide
member comprises denim, twill, woven fabric, knit fabric, spandex,
elastic, or a mixture thereof.
10. The posterior-lifting garment of claim 4, wherein the pant
garment further comprises an inseam and a crotch seam, and wherein
the guide member is configured to extend along the pant garment
from the inseam up a posterior side of the crotch seam by a length
of from 4 inches to 20 inches.
11. The posterior-lifting garment of claim 4, wherein the pant
garment further comprises an inseam and a yoke, and wherein the
guide member is configured to extend along the pant garment from
the inseam to the yoke.
12. The posterior-lifting garment of claim 4, wherein the pant
garment further comprises an inseam and a waistband, and wherein
the guide member is configured to extend along the pant garment
from the inseam to the waistband.
13. The posterior-lifting garment of claim 4, wherein the pant
garment further comprises an inseam, a first back pocket on the
posterior of the pant garment and a second back pocket on the
posterior of the pant garment layer, and wherein the guide member
is configured to extend along the pant garment from the crotch seam
to a level even with a top of the back pockets, or to the top of
the waist edge.
14. The posterior-lifting garment of claim 4, wherein the pant
garment further comprises a waistband, and wherein the lift
attachment is attached to the waistband.
15. The posterior-lifting garment of claim 14, wherein the lift
attachment comprises a button, a buttonhole, a snap, a snap eyelet,
a hook, a hook eye, a fastener, Velcro, a rivet, or a stud.
16. The posterior-lifting garment of claim 4, wherein the pant
garment comprises one, two, or three lift attachments.
17. The posterior-lifting garment of claim 4, wherein the
posterior-lifting article comprises a stretch cord, an elastic
pull, or a woven ribbon.
18. The posterior-lifting garment of claim 4, wherein the pant
garment further comprises a crotch seam, and wherein the first
portion of the posterior-lifting article is attached to the crotch
seam of the pant garment.
19. The posterior-lifting garment of claim 4, wherein the pant
garment further comprises an inseam, and wherein the first portion
of the posterior-lifting article is attached to the inseam of the
pant garment.
20. The posterior-lifting garment of claim 4, wherein the first
portion of the posterior-lifting article is attached to the inside
of the guide member of the pant garment.
21. The posterior-lifting garment of claim 4, wherein the second
portion of the posterior-lifting article comprises a button, a
buttonhole, a snap, a snap eyelet, a hook, a hook eye, a fastener,
Velcro, a rivet, or a stud.
22. The posterior-lifting garment of claim 4, wherein the length of
the guide member decreases in length by at least 10% when the
second portion of the posterior-lifting article is attached to the
lift attachment.
23. The posterior-lifting garment of claim 22, wherein the length
of the guide member decreases in length by at least 25% when the
second portion of the posterior-lifting article is attached to the
lift attachment.
24. The posterior-lifting garment of claim 23, wherein the length
of the guide member decreases in length by at least 35% when the
second portion of the posterior-lifting article is attached to the
lift attachment.
25. The posterior-lifting garment of claim 4, wherein the
posterior-lifting article does not include padding or a fabric
sling under the buttocks of the wearer.
26. A method of assembling a posterior-lifting garment, the method
comprising: attaching a lift attachment to a pant garment; and
attaching a first portion of a posterior-lifting article to the
pant garment, wherein a second end of the posterior-lifting article
is configured to attach to the lift attachment and to provide
traction pulling the lower portion of the pant garment toward the
upper portion of the pant garment.
27. The method of claim 26, further comprising positioning the
posterior-lifting article within a guide member, attaching the
guide member to the pant garment, and attaching the first portion
of the posterior-lifting article to the pant garment or to the
guide member of the pant garment.
28. The method of claim 27, wherein the guide member comprises a
channel or a sleeve.
29. The method of claim 28, wherein the pant garment is a pair of
pants, a pair of jeans, a pair of shorts, or leggings.
30. The method of claim 28, wherein the pant garment comprises
denim, twill, woven fabric, or knit fabric.
31. The method of claim 28, wherein the pant garment further
comprises a crotch seam, and wherein the guide member is positioned
on a posterior side of the crotch seam.
32. The method of claim 28, wherein the guide member is positioned
on the inside of the posterior side of the crotch seam.
33. The method of claim 28, wherein the guide member is attached to
the pant garment using one of a group consisting of sewing,
adhering, zipping, buttoning, snapping, heat sealing, welding,
gluing, bonding, laser cutting, and combinations thereof.
34. The method of claim 28, wherein the guide member is sewn to the
pant garment using a single-needle chain stitch, zigzag stitch, or
cover stitch.
35. The method of claim 28, wherein the guide member comprises
denim, twill, woven fabric, knit fabric, spandex fabric, cotton
fabric, elastic, or a mixture thereof.
36. The method of claim 28, wherein the pant garment further
comprises an inseam and a crotch seam, and wherein the guide member
is attached to the pant garment from the inseam up a posterior side
of the crotch seam by a length of from 4 inches to 20 inches.
37. The method of claim 28, wherein the pant garment further
comprises an inseam and a yoke, and wherein the guide member is
attached to the pant garment from the inseam to the yoke.
38. The method of claim 28, wherein the pant garment further
comprises an inseam and a waistband, and wherein the guide member
is attached to the pant garment from the inseam to the
waistband.
39. The method of claim 28, wherein the pant garment further
comprises an inseam, a first back pocket on the posterior of the
pant garment and a second back pocket on the posterior of the pant
garment layer, and wherein the guide member is attached to the pant
garment from the crotch seam to a level even with a top of the back
pockets or up to the top of the waistband.
40. The method of claim 28, wherein the pant garment further
comprises a waistband, and wherein the lift attachment is attached
to the waistband.
41. The method of claim 28, wherein the lift attachment comprises a
button, a buttonhole, a snap, a snap eyelet, a hook, a hook eye, a
fastener, Velcro, a rivet, or a stud.
42. The method of claim 28, wherein the pant garment comprises one,
two, or three lift attachments.
43. The method of claim 28, wherein the posterior-lifting article
comprises a stretch cord, an elastic pull, or a woven ribbon
44. The method of claim 28, wherein the pant garment further
comprises a crotch seam, and wherein the first portion of the
posterior-lifting article is attached to the crotch seam of the
pant garment.
45. The method of claim 28, wherein the pant garment further
comprises an inseam, and wherein the first portion of the
posterior-lifting article is attached to the inseam of the pant
garment.
46. The method of claim 28, wherein the first portion of the
posterior-lifting article is attached to the inside of the guide
member of the pant garment.
47. The method of claim 28, wherein the second portion of the
posterior-lifting article comprises a button, a buttonhole, a snap,
a snap eyelet, a hook, a hook eye, a fastener, Velcro, a rivet, or
a stud.
48. The method of claim 28, wherein the method does not include
attaching padding or attaching a fabric sling under the buttocks of
the wearer.
Description
FIELD OF THE DISCLOSURE
[0001] The present disclosure relates to posterior-lifting garments
for supporting the buttocks of the wearer, comprising a pant
garment and a posterior-lifting article. The present disclosure
also relates to methods of assembling the posterior-lifting
garments disclosed herein.
BACKGROUND
[0002] Many people seek to accentuate the appearance of their
buttocks in pants. Designers have produced a variety of garments
and undergarments designed to help lift and accentuate the
garment-wearer's buttocks (for instance, by the use of
garment-slings or pads). However, a continuing need exists for
improved garments and undergarments that can lift and accentuate
the buttocks of the garment wearer.
SUMMARY OF THE DISCLOSURE
[0003] Disclosed herein are posterior-lifting garments for
supporting a buttocks of a wearer, the posterior-lifting garments
comprising a pant garment comprising a lift attachment positioned
at an upper portion of the pant garment above the buttocks of the
wearer; and a posterior-lifting article having a first end and a
second end; wherein the first end of the posterior-lifting article
is attached to a lower portion of the pant garment; and wherein the
second end of the posterior-lifting article is configured to attach
to the lift attachment and to provide traction pulling the lower
portion of the pant garment toward the upper portion of the pant
garment so as to more closely conform the pant garment to the
buttocks and provide support for the buttocks. In some embodiments,
the posterior-lifting article comprises elastic. In some
embodiments, the pant garment further comprises a guide member, and
the posterior-lifting article is configured to extend along the
guide member of the pant garment. The guide member can comprise,
for instance, a channel or sleeve.
[0004] The pant garment can be, for instance, a pair of pants, a
pair of jeans, or a pair of shorts. In some embodiments, the pant
garment comprises denim, twill, or woven fabric. In some
embodiments, the pant garment further comprises a crotch seam, and
the guide member is on a posterior side of the crotch seam. In some
embodiments, the guide member is on the inside of the posterior
side of the crotch seam. In some embodiments, the guide member is
on the outside of the posterior side of the crotch seam. The guide
member can be attached to the pant garment using, for instance, one
of a group consisting of sewing, adhering, zipping, buttoning,
snapping, heat sealing, welding, gluing, bonding, laser cutting,
and combinations thereof. The guide member can comprise, for
instance, denim, twill, woven fabric, knit fabric, spandex,
elastic, or a mixture thereof.
[0005] In some embodiments, the pant garment further comprises an
inseam and a crotch seam, and the guide member is configured to
extend along the pant garment from the inseam up a posterior side
of the crotch seam by a length of from 4 inches to 20 inches. The
pant garment can further comprise an inseam and a yoke, and the
guide member can be configured to extend along the pant garment
from the inseam to the yoke. The pant garment can further comprise
an inseam and a waistband, and the guide member can be configured
to extend along the pant garment from the inseam to the waistband.
In some embodiments, the pant garment further comprises an inseam,
a first back pocket on the posterior of the pant garment and a
second back pocket on the posterior of the pant garment layer, and
the guide member can be configured to extend along the pant garment
from the crotch seam to a level even with a top of the back
pockets, or to the top of the waist edge.
[0006] In some embodiments, the pant garment further comprises a
waistband, and the lift attachment is attached to the waistband.
The lift attachment can comprise, for instance, a button, a
buttonhole, a snap, a snap eyelet, a hook, a hook eye, a fastener,
Velcro, a rivet, or a stud. The pant garment can comprise one, two,
or three lift attachments. In some embodiments, the
posterior-lifting article comprises a stretch cord, an elastic
pull, or a woven ribbon.

crotch seam, and the first portion of the posterior-lifting article
is attached to the crotch seam of the pant garment. In some
embodiments, the pant garment further comprises an inseam, and the
first portion of the posterior-lifting article is attached to the

decreases in length by at least 10% when the second portion of the
posterior-lifting article is attached to the lift attachment. In
some embodiments, the length of the guide member decreases in
length by at least 25% when the second portion of the
posterior-lifting article is attached to the lift attachment. In
some embodiments, the length of the guide member decreases in
length by at least 35% when the second portion of the
posterior-lifting article is attached to the lift attachment. In
some embodiments, the posterior-lifting article does not include
padding or a fabric sling under the buttocks of the wearer.
[0009] Also disclosed herein are methods of assembling
posterior-lifting garments, the methods comprising attaching a lift
attachment to a pant garment; attaching to the pant garment a first
portion of a posterior-lifting article configured to attach to the
lift attachment. The disclosed methods can further comprise
positioning the posterior-lifting article within a guide member,
attaching the guide member to the pant garment, and attaching the
first portion of the posterior-lifting article to the pant garment
or to the guide member of the pant garment.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION
[0014] Disclosed herein are posterior-lifting garments comprising a
pant garment comprising a lift attachment and a posterior-lifting
article, and methods of assembling the same.
[0015] The posterior-lifting garments disclosed herein can be any
lower-body garment wherein enhancing and/or lifting of the buttocks
could be desirable. In some embodiments, the posterior-lifting
garment is a pair of pants, jeans, a pair of shorts, leggings, or
tights. FIGS. 1-3 depict exemplary embodiments of the
posterior-lifting garments described herein.
[0016] As depicted in FIG. 1, the posterior-lifting garments 10
disclosed herein comprise a pant garment 9. Pant garment 9 can
comprise a waistband 1, a yoke 2, back pockets 3, a crotch seam 4,
an inseam 5, a lift attachment 6, or a combination thereof.
[0017] The pant garment can comprise any fabric known in the art
for use in a lower-body garment. The pant garment can comprise a
natural fabric, a synthetic fabric, or a blended fabric. In some
embodiments, the pant garment comprises denim, twill, woven fabric,
or knit fabric. Exemplary pant garment can comprise, for example,
cotton, leather, faux leather, suede, faux suede, polyester, denim,
twill, tweed, wood pulp, bamboo, corn fibers, leaves, moleskin,
barkcloth, barathea, silk, rayon, nylon, wool, batiste, Bedford
cord, bengaline, acetate, berber fleece, burlap, flannel, canvas,
lace, goat skin, satin, sateen, charmeuse, cheesecloth, corduroy,
linen, crinoline, velvet, spandex, animal pelts, faux animal pelts,
jersey, terry cloth, velour, velveteen, nonwoven fabrics such as
felt, and blends thereof. The pant garment can comprise any number
of layers of fabric. In some embodiments, the pant garment
comprises one layer. In some embodiments, the pant garment
comprises two layers. The pant garment can comprise, for instance,
a bonded fabric comprising two or more layers joined together with,
for instance, an adhesive, resin, foam, fusible membrane, or sewn
together. In some embodiments, the pant garment has a yoke. In some
embodiments, the pant garment has back pockets.
[0018] The pant garment also comprises a posterior-lifting article.
One embodiment of the posterior lifting article is depicted in
FIGS. 2 and 3. The pant garment 9 in FIGS. 2 and 3 comprises a lift
attachment 6 and a posterior-lifting article 7, wherein the
posterior-lifting article has a first end 8b and a second end 8a.
The first end of the posterior-lifting article can be attached to
an inner side of the pant garment at any location that allows the
buttocks to be lifted and/or enhanced when the second end of the
posterior-lifting article is attached to the lift attachment. The
posterior-lifting article can comprise any material capable of
providing traction to pull the lower portion of the pant garment
toward the upper portion of the pant garment so as to more closely
conform the pant garment to the buttocks and provide support for
the buttocks, when attached to a lift attachment. In some
embodiments, the posterior-lifting article can comprise any
material known in the art for use in a lower-body garment. In some
embodiments, the posterior-lifting article comprises elastic. In
some embodiments, the posterior-lifting article comprises a stretch
cord, and elastic pull, or a woven ribbon.
[0019] In some embodiments, the pant garment further comprises a
guide member. In some embodiments, the guide member comprises a
channel or sleeve. The guide member can comprise any fabric known
in the art for use in a lower-body garment. In some embodiments,
the guide member comprises denim, twill, woven fabric, knit fabric,
spandex, elastic, or a mixture thereof. In some embodiments, the
posterior-lifting article extends along the guide member. In some
embodiments, the posterior-lifting article is located within the
guide member. In some embodiments, the guide member is attached on
or adjacent to the inner side of the crotch seam of the pant
garment. In some embodiments, the guide member is attached on or
adjacent to the outside of the crotch seam of the pant garment.

extend along the pant garment from the inseam up an inner posterior
side of the crotch seam by a length of 4 inches or greater (e.g., 5
inches or greater, 6 inches or greater, 7 inches or greater, 8
inches or greater, 9 inches or greater, 10 inches or greater, 11
inches or greater, 12 inches or greater, 13 inches or greater, 14
inches or greater, 15 inches or greater, 16 inches or greater, 17
inches or greater, 18 inches or greater, or 19 inches or greater).
In some embodiments, the guide member is configured to extend along
the pant garment from the inseam up the inner posterior side of the
crotch seam by a length of 20 inches or less (e.g., 19 inches or
less, 18 inches or less, 17 inches or less, 16 inches or less, 15
inches or less, 14 inches or less, 13 inches or less, 12 inches or
less, 11 inches or less, 10 inches or less, 9 inches or less, 8
inches or less, 7 inches or less, 6 inches or less, or 5 inches or
less). In some embodiments, the guide member is configured to
extend along the pant garment from the inseam up the inner
posterior side of the crotch seam to the yoke. In some embodiments,
the guide member is configured to extend along the pant garment
from the inseam up the inner posterior side of the crotch seam to
the waistband. In some embodiments, the guide member is configured
to extend along the pant garment from the inseam up the inner
posterior side of the crotch seam to a level even with a top of the
back pockets. In some embodiments, the guide member is configured
to extend along the pant garment from the inseam up the inner
posterior side of the crotch seam to a level even with the top of
the waist edge.
[0021] The posterior-lifting article can be attached to the pant
garment or to the guide member by any means capable of attaching
garment layers together. In some embodiments, the pant garment is
attached by sewing, adhering, zipping, buttoning, snapping, heat
sealing, welding, gluing, bonding, laser cutting, and combinations
thereof. The posterior-lifting article can be attached to the pant
garment at any location on the pant garment that allows the
posterior-lifting article to attach to the lift attachment and
provide traction pulling the lower portion of the pant garment
toward the upper portion of the pant garment so as to more closely
conform the pant garment to the buttocks and provide support for
the buttocks. In some embodiments, the first end of the
posterior-lifting article is attached to an inner side of the pant
garment. In some embodiments, the first end of the
posterior-lifting article is attached to an inner side of the guide
member. In some embodiments, the first end of the posterior-lifting
article of the posterior-lifting article is attached to or adjacent
to the inner side of the crotch seam the pant garment. In some
embodiments, the first end of the posterior-lifting article of the
posterior-lifting article is attached to or adjacent to the inner
side of the inseam the pant garment. In some embodiments, the first
end of the posterior-lifting article is attached to or adjacent to
the outside of the inseam of the pant garment, the crotch seam of
the pant garment, or a combination thereof. The second end of the
posterior-lifting article can comprise any fastener allowing it to
be attached to a lift attachment. In some embodiments, the second
portion of the posterior-lifting article comprises a button, a
buttonhole, a snap, a snap eyelet, a hook, a hook eye, a fastener,
Velcro, a rivet, or a stud.
[0022] The pant garment further comprises a lift attachment. In
some embodiments, the pant garment comprises one, two, or three
lift attachments. The lift attachment can be located anywhere on
the pant garment that allows the posterior-lifting article to
provide traction pulling the lower portion of the pant garment
toward the upper portion of the pant garment so as to more closely
conform the pant garment to the buttocks and provide support for
the buttocks, when the posterior-lifting article is attached to the
lift attachment. The lift attachment can be attached to the
waistband, for instance. In some embodiments, lift attachment
comprises a button, a buttonhole, a snap, a snap eyelet, a hook, a
hook eye, a fastener, Velcro, a rivet, or a stud.
[0023] The garments described herein are capable of lifting the
garment-wearer's buttocks and enhancing the appearance of the
garment-wearer's buttocks by pulling the lower portion of the pant
garment toward the upper portion of the pant garment so as to more
closely conform the pant garment to the buttocks and provide
support for the buttocks when the second end of the
posterior-lifting article is attached to a lift attachment. In
embodiments having multiple lift attachments, greater enhancement
and/or lift occurs when the second end of the posterior-garment is
attached to the lift attachment closest to the top of the pant
garment's waistband. In some embodiments, the length of the guide
member decreases in length by 10% or greater (e.g., 15% or greater,
20% or greater, 25% or greater, 30% or greater, 35% or greater, 40%
or greater, 45% or greater, 55% or greater, 60% or greater, 65% or
greater, or 70% or greater) when the second portion of the
posterior-lifting article is attached to the lift attachment. In
some embodiments, the length of the posterior-lifting article
decreases in length by 10% or greater (e.g., 15% or greater, 20% or
greater, 25% or greater, 30% or greater, 35% or greater, 40% or
greater, 45% or greater, 55% or greater, 60% or greater, 65% or
greater, or 70% or greater) when the second portion of the
posterior-lifting article is attached to the lift attachment.
Unlike garments of the prior art, the garments disclosed herein
enhance and/or lift the buttocks without the use of padding or a
fabric sling under the buttocks of the garment wearer.
[0024] Also disclosed herein are methods of assembling
posterior-lifting garments, comprising attaching a lift attachment
to a pant garment, and attaching to the pant garment a first
portion of a posterior-lifting article configured to attach to the
