Velcro Lint Remover

Abstract

An improved lint removing assembly consisting of Velcro hooks. The Velcro hooks hold and lift lint or hair from garments. The first embodiment calls for a predetermined square base comfortably fitting in the palm of the hand. The Velcro hooks attached to base completes the cleaning assembly. The garment will be completely lint free by utilizing vertical and/or horizontal palm motion. A serrated element will keep the Velcro hooks clean. In the second embodiment, the square base is replaced by rods. The Velcro hooks are attached to an expanded circular base that allows for maximum surface contact between the Velcro and the garment. The materials are readily available that would facilitate the second embodiment. Other cleaning embodiments can readily be created to fit cleaning specifications and needs because of the flexibility of the Velcro material. Color can be added to enhance the attractiveness of the embodiments.

BACKGROUND-PRIOR ART

[0003] Prior embodiments created for the removal of lint and hair from garments are several in numbers but lacking in effectiveness. Both U.S. Pat. No. 06/290,786 to McKay and Nicholas D. (1981) and U.S. Pat. No. 7, 2334,188 to McKay (2007) show the same general assembly dedicated for maintaining our clothes free of lint and hair--the adhesive tape roller. The adhesive tape roller seems to presently be the most adequate lint remover available to date; however, the adhesive portion of the assembly has to be continuously replaced and it does not produce a lint free garment. This is so often substantiated by our own effort to eradicate lint from our clothes. In the end, it seems to be a fruitless effort relegated to a semi-won battle. That will not be the case with The Velcro Lint Remover whose small hooks within the Velcro material lifts and hold the lint as it is brush against the garment.

SUMMARY

[0004] Lint removers found in the market today do not effectively accomplish the task of keeping us lint free. Even though, the adhesive tape roller is the ultimate choice for removing lint from garments. An improved lint remover that utilizes Velcro Hooks can accomplish the task of keeping our garments lint free. The Velcro Lint Remover comprises of a predetermined base and a predetermined piece of Velcro firmly attached to a base. To properly clean the Velcro, a serrated element would be essential.

DESCRIPTION

First Embodiment

[0009] The support of the lint remover should be light weight and properly sized and shaped as to fit comfortably in the palm of the hand. Preferably, the support can have the shape of a square with a predetermined scale- Scale: 5.08 cm. =8.89 cm. The Velcro part, FIG. 1, which removes the lint or the hair from a garment, would be the hook portion. This Velcro can be properly sized to a square support allowing for continuous 0.64 cm. crenation along the edges of the square. Black Velcro hooks made of Nylon/polyester Is most capable of removing the lint from garments. Some Velcro hooks can be too shallow to effectively remove the most lint from a garment. However, the aforementioned Velcro is most effective in the removal of lint from a garment. Lint removal is made possible not solely by the Velcro attached to a comfortable base but by the circular and/or linear motion of the palm of the hand coupled with the downward pressure on the garment. Hence, it is essential that the base be firmly and comfortably attached to the back of the hand via a flexible and comfortable strap, (FIG. 2.). Most essential is a small tooth comb, FIG. 3, that can be used clean the Velcro. The included diagrams provide a visual clarification of the support, the attached Velcro, the flexible strap and the small tooth comb.

Second Embodiment

[0010] A rod, FIG. 4, can also serve as the base for The Velcro Lint Remover. The material is presently available to facilitate this second embodiment. It will also remove lint found on garments. Because of the flexibility of the Velcro material, multiple embodiments are possible. Multiple Velcro cleaning systems and various sizes and shape are possible.

Claims

1. A method for removing lint from garments utilizing Velcro, comprising a) a predetermined sturdy support fitting comfortably in the hand and b) a predetermined piece of Velcro attached to said support and c) a serrated element to remove the lint from said Velcro, whereby the Velcro and said support jointly serve to remove lint from said garment and subsequently cleaned by serrated element.
