Description

TECHNICAL FIELD & BACKGROUND

[0001] Pallets are often used during deliveries of large quantities of goods in order to minimize product damage and promote efficient use of available space. However, when delivering the product, it may be necessary to remove product from the pallet due to difficulty maneuvering within tight confines due to the pallet's size.

[0002] The present invention generally relates to a pallet. More specifically, the invention is a split pallet device.

[0003] It is an object of the invention to provide a split pallet device that allows a user to deliver a product set on the split pallet device without removing the product from the split pallet device.

[0004] It is an object of the invention to provide a split pallet device that allows a user to deliver a product relatively faster and with relatively less work than a traditional pallet.

[0005] It is an object of the invention to provide a split pallet device that allows a user to relatively more easily rotate a product set on the split pallet device than a traditional pallet.

[0006] What is really needed is a split pallet device that allows a user to deliver a product set on the split pallet device without removing the product from the split pallet device that allows a user to deliver a product relatively faster and with relatively less work than a traditional pallet that allows a user to relatively more easily rotate a product set on the split pallet device than a traditional pallet.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0007] The present invention will be described by way of exemplary embodiments, but not limitations, illustrated in the accompanying drawings in which like references denote similar elements, and in which:

[0008] FIG. 1 illustrates a top view of a split pallet device, according to an embodiment of the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF ILLUSTRATIVE EMBODIMENTS

[0009] Various aspects of the illustrative embodiments will be described using terms commonly employed by those skilled in the art to convey the substance of their work to others skilled in the art. However, it will be apparent to those skilled in the art that the present invention may be practiced with only some of the described aspects. For purposes of explanation, specific numbers, materials and configurations are set forth in order to provide a thorough understanding of the illustrative embodiments. However, it will be apparent to one skilled in the art that the present invention may be practiced without the specific details. In other instances, well-known features are omitted or simplified in order not to obscure the illustrative embodiments.

[0010] Various operations will be described as multiple discrete operations, in turn, in a manner that is most helpful in understanding the present invention. However, the order of description should not be construed as to imply that these operations are necessarily order dependent. In particular, these operations need not be performed in the order of presentation.

[0011] The phrase "in one embodiment" is utilized repeatedly. The phrase generally does not refer to the same embodiment, however, it may. The terms "comprising", "having" and "including" are synonymous, unless the context dictates otherwise.

[0012] FIG. 1 illustrates a top view of a split pallet device 100, according to an embodiment of the present invention.

[0013] The split pallet device 100 includes a base pallet 110, a plurality of detachable wheels 120 and a plurality of latch fasteners 130. The base pallet 110 has a first half 112, a second half 114 and a bottom surface 116 where the first half 112 and the second half 114 of the base pallet 110 are releasably attached together to form the base pallet 110. The first half 112 of the base pallet 110 has a bottom surface 113 and the second half 114 of the base pallet 110 has a bottom surface 115. The first half 112 and the second half 114 of the base pallet 110 can be separated and releasably attached together as desired by a user to accommodate relatively easier loading and unloading of objects such as products and goods onto and off of the base pallet 110. The base pallet 110 is made of durable plastic but can be made of other suitable durable materials such as wood or metal as well. The base pallet 110 is approximately 36 inches in width by 36 inches in length or approximately 36 inches in width by 40 inches in length or can have any other suitable dimensions as well.

[0014] The detachable wheels 120 are disposed on the bottom 116 of the base pallet 110 and the first half 112 and the second half 114 of the base pallet 110. FIG. 1 illustrates 8 detachable wheels 120 disposed on the bottom 116 of the base pallet 110 however any suitable number of detachable wheels 120 can be disposed on the bottom 116 of the base pallet 110. More specifically, there are 4 detachable wheels 120 on the bottom 113 of the first half 112 of the base pallet 110 and 4 detachable wheels 120 on the bottom 115 of the second half 114 of the base pallet 110. The 4 detachable wheels 120 are disposed on each corner 117 of the bottom 113 of the first half 112 of the base pallet 110 and each corner 119 of the bottom 115 of the second half 114 of the base pallet 110. The detachable wheels 120 can be removed as desired by a user as well. The detachable wheels 120 also allow a user to relatively better maneuver the first half 112 and the second half 114 of the base pallet 110 in a relatively cramped or confined space.

[0015] The latch fasteners 130 releasably secure the first half 112 and the second half 114 of the base pallet 110 together forming the base pallet 110. FIG. 1 illustrates two latch fasteners 130 disposed on a top outer edge 132 of the base pallet 110 and a bottom outer edge 134 of the base pallet 110 between the first half 112 and the second half 114 of the base pallet 110. The latch fasteners 130 however can be disposed at any suitable area and in any suitable quantity between the first half 112 and the second half 114 of the base pallet 110. The latch fasteners 130 can also be any suitable type of releasable fastener to secure the first half 112 and the second half 114 of the base pallet 110 such as a magnetic fastener or a hook and loop fastener (not shown).

[0016] The split pallet device 100 allows a user to deliver a product set on the split pallet device 100 without removing the product from the split pallet device 100 that allows a user to deliver a product relatively faster and with relatively less work than a traditional pallet that allows a user to relatively more easily rotate a product set on the split pallet device 100 than a traditional pallet.

[0017] The split pallet device can be split in half in order to facilitate use in relatively smaller areas. The split pallet device is a well-suited alternative to traditional pallet products. Relatively easy to use, when in a relatively cramped or confined space, the split pallet device is split in the middle, utilizing a plurality of built-in attaching and detaching fasteners located on either ends of the center of the split pallet device. The split pallet device is able to reduce physical strain on users as well as expedite a delivery process. The split pallet device can be utilized by pallet manufacturers, beverage companies, food product companies and any company which requires rotation of their product at the time of delivery.

[0018] The split pallet device features an approximate 40 inches.times.36 inches or an approximate 36 inches.times.36 inches plastic pallet capable of being attached or detached at the center, successfully facilitating the delivery process. The split pallet device is designed to allow for installation of 8 wheels at the base and 4 wheels on each half, in order to further assist in relieving physical strain on a user.

[0019] While the present invention has been related in terms of the foregoing embodiments, those skilled in the art will recognize that the invention is not limited to the embodiments described. The present invention can be practiced with modification and alteration within the spirit and scope of the appended claims. Thus, the description is to be regarded as illustrative instead of restrictive on the present invention.
