Abstract

A heat sink includes a plurality of fins. Each of the plurality of fins includes a fin body and a bent part located on one side of the fin body. The bent part of each of the plurality of fins includes an extension piece slanted relative to the fin body.

Claims



1. A heat sink comprising: a plurality of fins, each of the plurality of fins comprising a fin body and a bent part located on one side of the fin body, and the bent part of each of the plurality of fins comprising an extension piece slanted relative to the fin body.

2. The heat sink of claim 1, wherein the plurality of fins are substantially parallel to each other.

3. The heat sink of claim 2, wherein the bent part of each of the plurality of fins further comprises a bent piece substantially perpendicular to the plurality of fins, and the extension piece diagonally extends from the bent piece of each of the plurality of fins.

4. The heat sink of claim 3, wherein the extension piece of each of the plurality of fins comprises a top edge connected to the bent piece and a bottom edge abuts the fin body.

5. The heat sink of claim 4, wherein a right-angle triangle is defined by the bent piece, the extension piece, and a part of the fin body of each of the plurality of fins.

The heat sink of claim 1, further comprising a base piece, wherein the plurality of fins are located on and substantially perpendicular to the base piece, and the extension piece of each of the plurality of fins comprises a top edge connected to the fin body and a bottom edge abuts the base piece.

7. The heat sink of claim 6, wherein a right-angle triangle is defined by the fin body, the extension piece, and the base piece of each of the plurality of fins.

8. The heat sink of claim 1, wherein the bent part of each of the plurality of fins further comprises an expansion piece extending from the extension piece, an obtuse angle is defined between the extension piece and the expansion piece.

9. The heat sink of claim 8, wherein a K-shape is defined by the fin body, the extension piece, and the expansion piece of each of the plurality of fins.

10. The heat sink of claim 1, wherein an obtuse angle is defined between fin body of each of the plurality of fins and the extension piece of each of the plurality of fins.

11. The heat sink of claim 10, wherein each of the plurality of fins further comprises a base piece connected to the fin body, and the bent part of each of the plurality of fins further comprises a cover piece connected to the extension piece.

12. The heat sink of claim 11, wherein each of the plurality of fins has an "M" like shape.

BACKGROUND

[0002] The present disclosure relates to a heat dissipating device, and particularly to a heat sink.

[0003] 2. Description of Related Art

[0004] Heat sinks are provided in a computer system to dissipate heat generated from a CPU. Usually, the heat sink includes a plurality of fins, which are thin metal pieces that are parallel to each other. However, this type of heat sink has low efficiency.

[0005] Therefore, there is chamber for improvement within the art.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

[0017] The disclosure is illustrated by way of example and not by way of limitation in the figures of the accompanying drawings in which like references indicate similar elements. It should be noted that references to "an" or "one" embodiment in this disclosure are not necessarily to the same embodiment, and such references mean at least one.

[0018] FIGS. 1-2, show a first heat sink 10 in accordance with an embodiment. The first heat sink 10 includes a first base 11 and a plurality of first fins 15 located on the first base 11. Each first fin 15 includes a first fin body 151 and a first bent part 153. The first bent part 153 of each first fin 15 includes a first bent piece 1531, and a first extension piece 1533. The first fin bodies 151 of the plurality of the first fins 15 are substantially parallel to each other. The first fin body 151 of each first fin 15 is located on the first base 11. The first bent piece 1531 extends from the first fin body 151. The first extension piece 1533 diagonally extends from the first bent piece 1531. In an embodiment, each first bent piece 1531 is substantially perpendicular to each first fin body 151. A right-angle triangle is defined by the bent piece 1531, the first extension piece 1533, and a part of the first fin body 151 of each of the plurality of first fins 15.

[0019] FIGS. 3-4, show a second heat sink 20 in accordance with an alternative embodiment. The second heat sink 20 includes a second base 22 and a plurality of second fins 23 located between the second base 22. Each of the plurality of second fins 23 includes a second fin body 231 and a second bent part 25. Each second fin body 231 is connected to the second base 22. Each second bent part 25 includes a second bent piece 250 extending from the second fin body 231, a second extension piece 253 extending from the second fin body 231, and an expansion piece 251 extending from the second extension piece 253. A K-shape is defined by the second fin body 231, the second extension piece 253, and the expansion piece 251 of each of the plurality of second fins 23. An obtuse angle is defined between the second extension piece 253 and the expansion piece 251 of each of the plurality of second fins 23.

[0020] FIGS. 5-6, show a third heat sink 30 in accordance with another alternative embodiment. The third heat sink 30 includes a plurality of third fins 31. Each of the plurality of third fins 31 includes a third fin body 311, two third bent parts 313 located on a top edge and a bottom edge of the third fin body 311. Each third bent part 313 includes a third bent piece 3131 extending from the third fin body 311 and a third extension piece 3133 diagonally extending from the third bent piece 3131. A right-angle triangle is defined by the third bent piece 3131, the third extension piece 3133, and a part of the third fin body 311 of each of the plurality of third fins 31.

[0021] FIGS. 7-8, show a fourth heat sink 40 in accordance with another alternative embodiment. The fourth heat sink 40 includes a plurality of fourth fins 41. Each fourth fin 41 includes a fourth fin body 413, a fourth bent part 414, and a second base piece 415. The fourth bent part 414 of each of the plurality of fourth fins 41 includes a fourth extension piece 416, extending from the fin body 413, and a cover piece 417, extending from the fourth extension piece 416. The second base piece 415 extends from the fin body 413. Each of the fourth fins 41 has an "M" like shape. An obtuse angle is defined between in fourth fin body 413 and the fourth extension piece 416 of each of the plurality of fourth fins 41.

[0022] FIGS. 9-10, show a fifth heat sink 50 in accordance with another alternative embodiment. The fifth heat sink 50 includes a plurality of fifth fins 55. Each of the plurality of fifth fins 55 includes a fifth fin body 551 and a fifth bent part 552. The fifth bent part 552 includes a fifth base piece 5521 and a fifth extension piece 5523 extending from a top edge of the fifth fin body 551. The fifth extension piece 5523 is slanted relative to the fifth fin body 551. A right-angle triangle is defined by the fifth fin body 551, the fifth extension piece 5523, and a part of the fifth base piece 5521.
