[0013] FIG. 7 is an assembled, isometric view of a base of the lens tray fastening device in FIG. 6.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

[0014] FIGS. 1-4, illustrate a lens tray fastening device 100 according to a first exemplary embodiment, for fastening a number of difference types of lens trays, such as a first lens tray 20, a second lens tray 30, a third lens tray 40, for example.

[0015] The lens tray fastening device 100 includes a base 10. In the present embodiment, the base 10 is substantially square. It should be noted that, the base 10 also can be other shapes, such as circular. The base 10 is separated into nine areas (shown as broken line in FIGS. 1-4). In the embodiment, the nine areas are arranged in a 3.times.3 array. The shape of each of the areas corresponds to that of the lens trays, and the shape and size of the nine areas are the same. In the embodiment, the shapes of both the area and the lens tray are substantially square. Alternatively, the shapes of the area and the lens trays also can be other shapes. Each area defined in the base 10 defines a first locating hole 11 and three second locating holes 11a. The three second locating holes 11a are adjacent to each other. The first and second locating holes 11, 11a are all blind holes. The connection line between the first and second locating holes 11, 11a are on the same diagonal line.

[0016] The number of the areas is not limited to nine, which can be set based on requirement. The number of the second locating hole 11a is not limited to three, which can also be set corresponding to the types of the lens tray. For example, in the embodiment, the number of the types of lens tray is three, such as, the first lens tray 20, the second lens tray 30, and the third lens tray 40, therefore, the base 10 defines three second locating holes 11a.

[0017] It is also noteworthy that, the areas of the base 10 are arranged in the 3.times.3 array, which can arrange based on requirement.

[0018] Also referring FIG. 5, the shapes of the first lens tray 20, the second lens tray 30, and the third lens tray 40 are the same, different among the first lens tray 20, the second lens tray 30, and the third lens tray 40 are only in the size. Therefore, it only takes the structure of the first lens tray 20 as an example. The first lens tray 20 includes a first surface 20a and a second surface 20b facing away from the first surface 20a. Two locating pins 21 substantially perpendicularly extend upwards from the first surface 20a. The position of one of the locating pins 21 corresponds to that of the first locating hole 11, and the position of the other locating pins 21 corresponds to that of one of the three second locating holes 11a. In the embodiment, the connection line between the two locating pins 21 are on the same diagonal line. The first lens tray 20 defines a number of receiving holes 22 on the second surface 20b. In the present embodiment, the receiving holes 22 are arranged in a 7.times.6 array. Each of the receiving holes 22 receives a respective lens (not shown).

[0019] In assembly, the first locating hole 11 is cooperative with one of the second locating holes 11a to engage with the two locating pins 21 to locate the first lens tray 20 onto the base 10.

[0020] FIGS. 6-7 illustrate a lens tray fastening device 200, in accordance with a second exemplary embodiment. The lens tray fastening device 200 is essentially similar to the lens tray fastening device 100 in the first embodiment. In this embodiment, the base 70 further defines two groups of threaded holes 72. Each group includes three threaded holes 72. The connection line of each group of threaded holes 72 is on the same line. Each of the threaded holes 72 is defined on a boundary defined by two adjacent areas of the base 10. The lens tray fastening device 200 further includes a number different type of plates 50 and six bolts 60. Each type of plates 50 corresponds to a respective type of lens trays. The plate 50 is a long strip and defines three through holes 51 each corresponding to a respective threaded hole 72.

[0021] In assembly, it only takes the assembling of the first lens trays 20 on the base 70 as an example. Each of the plates 50 bestrides two adjacent arrays of the first lens trays 20 and rests against peripheries of the first lens trays 20. Each of the through holes 51 aligns with a respective threaded hole 72. One of the bolts 60 passes through a respective through hole 51 and threadedly engages with a respective threaded hole 72 to firmly attach the first lens trays 20 on the base 70, without making the plate 50 masking the receiving holes 22.

[0022] The number of the through holes 51 of the plate 50 is not limited to three, which can be set basing on requirement.

[0023] It will be understood that the above particular embodiments are shown and described by way of illustration only. The principles and the features of the present disclosure may be employed in various and numerous embodiments thereof without departing from the scope of the disclosure as claimed. The above-described embodiments illustrate the scope of the disclosure but do not restrict the scope of the disclosure.
