Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0001] 1. Field of the Invention
[0002] The present invention relates to a cushion for headbands,
and more particularly to a cushion for headbands which is provided
with a vacant space having a cushion cover shape or an air tube
formed integrally with a cushion cover at the rear part of a
headband connected to one selected from safety appliances including
a welding mask, a protective mask, a safety helmet and a medical
device used in industrial fields or medical operations, to provide
excellent cushion feeling when contacting a wearer's head during
wearing, to have a flexible shape regardless of a shape of the
wearer's head, and thus not to generate inconvenience even when the
cushion for headbands is worn for a long time.
[0003] 2. Description of the Related Art
[0004] In general, a headband installed in on each of a welding
mask, a protective mask, a safety helmet used in industrial fields
and a medical device is formed of a synthetic resin to fix the
mask, helmet or device to a wearer's head, and thus a wearer may
wear the mask, helmet or device by the headband in a manner in
which the headband surrounds the wearer's head.
[0005] The headband connected to a welding mask, a protective mask
or a safety helmet does not form various contact areas with the
wearer's head according to a shape of the wearer's head, thus
causing discomfort in wearing.
[0006] In order to solve such a drawback, a pad may be installed on
the headband. The conventional pad is in the type of a fixed
cushion formed of a foamed material, and such a fixed cushion is
limited in flexible adaptation to all shapes of heads although
excellent cushion force may be provided.
[0007] Further, a cushion for headbands is connected to the rear
surface of the headband so as to adjust the length of the headband
according to a size of the wearer's head. Even if the conventional
pad contacting the rear part of the wearer's head is formed of a
material having high elasticity, the pad maintains identical
cushion force (repulsive force) in a designated direction, and thus
does not flexibly cope with the sizes or shapes of the
individuals.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0008] Therefore, the present invention has been made in view of
the above problems, and it is an object of the present invention to
provide a cushion for headbands which provides excellent cushion
feeling to a wearer when contacting the wearer's head during
wearing and does not cause inconvenience even when the cushion for
headbands is worn for a long time.
[0009] In accordance with the present invention, the above and
other objects can be accomplished by the provision of a cushion for
headbands which is connected to the rear surface of a headband such
that the length of the headband connected to a welding mask, a
working helmet, a safety mask, a protective mask or a medical
device may be adjusted according to the size of a wearer's head,
includes a connection case provided with a space recess formed on
the rear surface thereof and fixing protrusions formed at the edge
of the rear surface thereof, and a cushion cover provided with
fixing grooves formed at the edge of the rear surface thereof so as
to be connected to the connection case, so that a space having the
shape of an air cushion cover may be formed between a pad of the
cushion cover and the space recess of the connection case when the
fixing grooves of the cushion cover are connected to the fixing
protrusions of the connection case.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0025] Now, preferred embodiments in accordance with the present
invention will be described in detail with reference to the annexed
drawings.
[0026] Hereinafter, a cushion for headbands in accordance with each
of the embodiments of the present invention will be described with
reference to the accompanying drawings.
[0027] In a cushion for headbands in accordance with the present
invention, a cushion cover 50 is formed in the shape of one
selected from an oval pad, a protruding pad and a radial-shaped
pad. Further, in the cushion for headbands in accordance with the
present invention, the cushion cover 50 has a vacant space
structure and is provided with fixing grooves 52 formed at four
side surfaces thereof, as shown in FIG. 7, and thus covers a
connection case 20 so as to be connected to the connection case
20.
[0028] In the cushion for headbands in accordance with the present
invention, through holes 54 are formed at a part of the cushion
cover 50 contacting a wearer's head, thus forming vent holes
through which external air is circulated.
[0029] In accordance with embodiments of the present invention, as
shown in FIGS. 1 to 4, a cushion for headbands is connected to the
rear surface of a headband 10 so that the length of the headband 10
connected to one selected from a welding mask, a protective mask
and a safety helmet may be adjusted according to the size of a
wearer's head. Here, a connection case 20 is connected to the
cushion for headbands, the headband 10 and an adjustment band 30
are connected to both sides of the connection case 20, thereby
allowing the length of the headband 10 to be adjusted according to
the size of the wearer's head.
[0030] In accordance with embodiments of the present invention, as
shown in FIGS. 4 to 8, in the cushion for headbands, a space recess
46 forming a vacant space is formed on the connection case 20,
fixing protrusions 42, 42', 44 and 44' are formed at four side
surfaces of the connection case 20, and thus the cushion cover 50
covers the connection case 20 so as to be connected to the
connection case 20.
[0031] The cushion for headbands in accordance with the present
invention, which is connected to the rear surface of the headband
such that the length of the headband connected to a welding mask
may be adjusted according to the size of the wearer's head,
includes the connection case 20 provided with the space recess 46
having the shape of a curved surface and formed on the rear surface
thereof and the fixing protrusions 42, 42', 44 and 44' formed at
the edge of the rear surface thereof, and the cushion cover 50
provided with the fixing grooves 52 formed at the edge of the rear
surface thereof and formed in the shape of a cushion pad so that a
space having the shape of an air cushion cover may be formed
between the pad of the cushion cover 50 and the space recess 46 of
the connection case 20 when the fixing grooves of the cushion cover
50 are connected to the fixing protrusions 42, 42', 44 and 44' of
the connection case 20.
[0032] That is, band insertion grooves 45 and 45' are formed at the
circumference of the front surface of the connection case 20 so
that the headband 10 and the adjustment hand 30 may be inserted
into the band insertion grooves 45 and 45' from both sides of the
connection case 20, the space recess 46 having the shape of a
curved surface is formed on the rear surface of the connection case
20 so that when the cushion cover 50 is connected to the rear
surface of the connection case 20, a space having the shape of the
cushion cover 50 may be formed between the pad of the cushion cover
50 and the rear surface of the connection case 20, and the fixing
protrusions 42, 42', 44 and 44' are formed at the edge of the rear
surface of the connection case 20.
[0033] FIGS. 9 to 12 are views illustrating a detaching process of
a cushion for headbands in accordance with one embodiment of the
present invention. In order to separate the cushion for headbands
from the headband 10, the cushion cover 50 is removed from the
fixing protrusions 42, 42', 44 and 44' formed at the edge of the
rear surface of the connection case 20, and in order to mount the
cushion for headbands on the headband 10, the cushion cover 50 is
connected to the fixing protrusions 42, 42', 44 and 44' formed at
the edge of the rear surface of the connection case 20. As shown in
FIGS. 9 to 12, when a wearer presses the center of the cushion
cover 50 with the thumb while pulling the upper part of the cushion
cover 50 with the forefinger, the cushion cover 50 may be easily
removed from the connection case 20 in order of {circle around
(1)}{circle around (2)}{circle around (3)}{circle around (4)}.
[0034] In a cushion cover 50-1 in accordance with another
embodiment of the present invention, as shown in FIGS. 13 and 14, a
space recess 46 having the shape of a curved surface is formed on
the rear surface of the connection case 20 so that when the cushion
cover 50-1 is connected to the rear surface of the connection case
20, a space having the shape of the cushion cover 50-1 may be
formed between the pad of the cushion cover 50-1 and the rear
surface of the connection case 20.
[0035] The cushion cover 50-1 is formed of one selected from the
group consisting of elastic rubber, silicon, PVE, PE, PP and
flexible urethane.
[0036] Further, fixing protrusions 52-1 which are inserted into
fixing holes 42-1 of the connection case 20 are formed at the edge
of the rear surface of the cushion cover 50-1, and when the fixing
protrusions 52-1 of the cushion cover 50-1 are inserted into the
fixing holes 42-1 of the connection case 20, the space having the
shape of the cushion cover 50-1 is formed between the pad of the
cushion cover 50-1 and the rear surface of the connection case 20.
The cushion cover 50-1 is configured so as to form the space having
the shape of the cushion cover 50-1. Since the cushion cover 50 is
connected to the connection case 20, the cushion for headbands in
accordance with the present invention provides excellent cushion
feeling to a wearer when contacting the wearer's head and does not
cause inconvenience even when the cushion for headbands is worn for
a long time.
[0037] Further, in the cushion for headbands in accordance with the
present invention, the cushion cover 50 may be formed in the shape
of one selected from an oval pad, a protruding pad and a
radial-shaped pad, so as to softly and comfortably contact the
wearer's head if the wearer wears the headband.
[0038] In a cushion cover 50-1 in accordance with another
embodiment of the present invention, as shown in FIG. 15, an air
tube 50-2 is formed within a space having the shape of an air
cushion cover between the cushion cover 50 and a space recess of
the connection case.
[0039] In a cushion cover 50-1 in accordance with another
embodiment of the present invention, as shown in FIG. 16, two air
tubes 50-2 divided from each other by a diaphragm are formed
between the rear surface of cushion cover 50-1 and a space recess
of the connection case.
[0040] As shown in FIG. 19, a conventional rear cushion 100 for
headbands is configured such that, when a wearer wears a welding
mask with a headband having the cushion 100, the entirety of the
cushion 100 is adhered to the wearer's head in the central
direction, thus being not completely adhered to the wearer's head.
On the other hand, as shown in FIGS. 17 and 18, in the case of the
cushion 50 for headbands in accordance with the present invention,
when a wearer wears a welding mask with a headband having the
cushion 50, the center of the cushion 50 surrounds the wearer's
head in the direction A and both edges of the cushion 50 are
expanded in the direction B, and thus the cushion 50 may be
completely adhered to the wearer's head.
[0041] As apparent from the above description, the present
invention provides a cushion for headbands in which a rear cushion
cover is connected to a connection case connected to one selected
from a welding mask, a protective mask and a safety helmet, and a
space recess having the shape of a curved surface or a plane
surface is formed on the rear surface of the connection case so
that a space having the shape of the cushion cover may be formed
between a pad of the cushion cover and the rear surface of the
connection case when the cushion cover is connected to the rear
surface of the connection case, thereby providing excellent cushion
feeling to a wearer when contacting the wearer's head and does not
cause inconvenience even when the cushion for headbands is worn for
a long time.
[0042] Further, the cushion for headbands in accordance with the
present invention is easily attached to and detached from the
headband, thus being conveniently used.
[0043] Although the preferred embodiments of the present invention
have been disclosed for illustrative purposes, those skilled in the
art will appreciate that various modifications, additions and
substitutions are possible, without departing from the scope and
spirit of the invention as disclosed in the accompanying
claims.
