Description

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The present invention generally relates to a drill bit suspension structure, which provides complete enclosure of a working portion of a drill bit and allows for vertical suspension for exhibition, where a package arrangement that realizes complete enclosure of the working portion of the drill bit is provided and a bottom of the package case forming an insertion tube or supporting a retention seat for assisting positioning of the drill bit in a suspended condition, so that the drill bit can be set in an erected condition for secure suspending package to realize aesthetics, security, and practicability of suspending exhibition.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PRIOR ART

[0002] Display and sale of a drill bit are often done with a suspending enclosure form that is made of a transparent case or shell to provide a completely enclosed package. As shown in FIGS. 6 and 7, a transparent hollow package case body 30 is provided, which has a predetermined length, normally slightly greater than the length of a packaged drill bit like tool piece 31, and is used in combination with a cap 32 or a hanging plate 33 to seal and close the package, so as to safely receive and store the tool piece 31 therein. However, the whole package is nothing but simply placing the drill bit like tool piece in the package case. For a drill bit like tool piece that is of a substantial length, there must be such a situation that the tool piece is received in an inclined fashion, so that whether the tool piece is disposed in one direction or the other direction, the tool piece is placed in an inclined fashion and the spiral cutting edge of the drill bit is inevitably subjected to physical contact and thus potential risk of damage. Such a package design that allows for arbitrary placement can hardly provide and ensure protection and may cause such a trouble of inconsistency in product exhibition. These are problems that are hard to overcome. Further, a consumer is only allowed to make visual observation of the product through the transparent case or package shell. It is difficult to correctly inspect the product due to the inclined deposition of product and also due to light reflection caused by the transparent case. It has long been a challenge of the industry to overcome the problems associated with the existing packages that are unsafe and impractical and to provide a dill bit suspension device that allows for true convenience of suspended exhibition of drill bit like tool pieces and at the same time realizes theft resistance and easy inspection for consumers.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0003] In view of the above problems of the existing suspending packages that do meet the needs for package safety and aesthetics of exhibition and use, the present invention aims to provide an improved drill bit suspension structure, which adopts such an arrangement that an insertion tube or a retention seat is formed on a bottom of a package case to realize easy positioning and packing a cutting section of drill bit to thereby meet the needs for safe packaging and easy inspection of vertically suspended drill bit like tool pieces and effectively improve the insufficiency of practicability of the existing suspension means for drill bit like tool pieces.

[0004] An objective of the present invention is to provide a drill bit like tool piece with vertical disposition suspension package that ensures safe exhibition and use, so as to realize reliable protection and safety of cutting edge of drill bit like tool piece and aesthetics, security, and theft resistance for suspension exhibition of the bit like tool piece, as well as easy access, inspection, and use of the packaged product.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0014] The following descriptions are exemplary embodiments only, and are not intended to limit the scope, applicability or configuration of the invention in any way. Rather, the following description provides a convenient illustration for implementing exemplary embodiments of the invention. Various changes to the described embodiments may be made in the function and arrangement of the elements described without departing from the scope of the invention as set forth in the appended claims.

[0015] The present invention provides a drill bit suspension structure, which provides a dill bit like tool piece package that allows for easy suspension and exhibition of the package and ready inspection of the packaged product. As shown in FIGS. 1-3, the suspension structure comprises a package case 10 that is provided for product insertion and packaging. For easy inspection, it is made by a transparent packaging material in the form of a hollow box, which has a length that is slightly greater than the cutting edge portion of a drill bit like tool piece 20 to be packaged. The case has a bottom board 11 that forms centrally a through hole. The through hole has a circumferential rim that projects inward or outward the case to form an insertion tube 12 of a predetermined length. The case has an open top, which may form, for the purpose of coupling, apertures or recesses 13 in for example opposite side walls of the tetragonal case as shown in the drawing, so that a cap like cover 14 may be coupled thereto in a snap-in fashion to close and cover and fix to the top opening of the case 10 to realize package safety The cover 14 has a top forming a suspension board 15 that extends therefrom for suspending exhibition. To use the package container, the drill bit like tool piece 20 to be packaged is inserted, in a revered fashion, into the package, whereby the long stem like shank 21 of the drill bit like tool piece 20 directly fit into the insertion tube 12 and partially extending outside the case 10 by a predetermined length. The drill bit like tool piece 20 is thus in a naturally erected condition, where the cutting edge portion 22 of the drill bit inserted into the case 10 is set upright, instead in an inclined fashion as the existing ones do. There will be no concern about impacting and abrading against the cutting edge. As such, the purpose of safe suspension and package is achieved.

[0016] If desired for practical applications, the drill bit like tool piece 20 can be packaged in the form shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, wherein, based on the circumferential configuration of the case 10, a retention seat 16 that provides a predetermined raised elevation is provided and forms centrally a bore 17 for insertion, whereby a conic-shaped bit tip 23 of the drill bit like tool piece 20 can be directly set into the bore 17, for example through threading engagement therebetween, to fix and combine together. The drill bit like tool piece 20 is thus inserted in and held on the retention seat 16 in advance and the retention seat 16 is disposed into the lower end portion of the case 10 to set the drill bit like tool piece 20 in an erected and packaged condition. The retention seat 16 may be alternatively formed in combination with and raised from the bottom board of the case, whereby the bit tip 23 can be disposed to insert into and fix to the bore 17 that is formed above the board. This may then be combined with closure realized by the cover 14 to allow the suspension board 15 to readily suspend the drill bit for suspending exhibition.

[0017] The vertical suspension structure according to the present invention is characterized in that the unique insertion and retention arrangement provided on the bottom of the case 10, namely the insertion tube 12 that is formed through a central portion of the case 10 or the retention seat 16 that forms the central bore 17, the tool piece 20 inserted therein can be held in an erected condition to realize an inserted packaging and an additional efficacy of vertical positioning and protection of the inserted tool piece 20 can be realized to protect the tool piece 20, when packaged for suspension, from impact, shifting, and damaging. The reversely inserted shank 21 is allowed to extend outside the case 10 for hand touching and holding and rotating the tool piece 20 to realize effective inspection of the cutting edge portion 22 of the drill bit. The suspension package according to the present invention makes the suspending exhibition package case aesthetic in the outside appearance and reduces the package length of the case, due to the reverse insertion, so as to substantially reduce the package volume. The whole suspension package of drill bit can be molded easily to lower down the manufacturing cost and allows for easy insertion of the packaging of the drill bit like tool piece 20. Thus, the packaging of the tool piece 20 is simplified. In view of such a suspension package case structure, the present invention is advantageous for being economic and providing practical use of safety and convenience, and shows a milestone innovation of packaging for drill bit like tool piece 20 of this kind.

[0018] The top opening of the case 10 allows the cover 14 to couple thereto in a forcible snap-in fashion through the engagement recesses 13 or apertures formed in side walls of the case opening for securely fixing and positioning. The top of the cover 14 forms the suspension board 15 extending therefrom to allow the package case to be easily suspended for exhibition. The shank of the reversely inserted drill bit like tool piece 20 naturally depends and projects down below the case 10 to allow a consumer to tough with hand for inspection. The insertion tube 12 that is provided for insertion and positioning can be directly formed on the bottom board in a unitary fashion, or an alternative design of a separate lining board may be adopted, where the lining board forms centrally an insertion tube integrally extending therefrom and the lining board is then disposed in the case 10, this being in resemblance to the independent arrangement of the retention seat 16 and achieving the same result of insertion and positioning. This is thus considered a simple modification and is believed belonging to the scope of the present invention. The suspension device according to the present invention allows a drill bit like tool piece 20 to be vertically disposed by the gravity thereof. This ensures stability of suspending exhibition of the tool piece and surely sets the tool piece 20 in vertical suspension for exhibition to realize aesthetic and secure suspending exhibition of the tool piece. The present invention is an innovate design for packaging and suspending of drill bit and provides the advantages of secure suspension and use, which is an novel and practical design of drill bit suspending device of this kind.

[0019] It will be understood that each of the elements described above, or two or more together may also find a useful application in other types of methods differing from the type described above.

[0020] While certain novel features of this invention have been shown and described and are pointed out in the annexed claim, it is not intended to be limited to the details above, since it will be understood that various omissions, modifications, substitutions and changes in the forms and details of the device illustrated and in its operation can be made by those skilled in the art without departing in any way from the spirit of the present invention.
