Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0001] 1. Field of the Invention
[0002] The present invention relates to a small purse and more
particularly to a small handheld sized purse that can be handheld
or attached to a regular purse or handbag or allow a key chain to
attach to it.
[0003] 2. Description of Related Art
[0004] There are currently a lot of larger carrying purses and
handbags that provide plenty of carrying space, but are
disadvantageous in that it is hard to find items in large bags.
Sometimes, even though the handbags have compartments to help
organize stuff, they are over compartmentalized and still make
finding stuff a challenging task. Getting those credit, gift or
other retail shopping cards, including driving licenses and other
identification cards out of pockets, purses or wallets whenever
requested or wanted to use has never been easy, not to mention the
time spent to do so. The same is true with other daily used items,
mainly cosmetics, pills, sanitizers, mouth fresheners, keys, etc.
Also there are the difficulties of carrying big purses, leaving
keys on store counters and the hassle of searching and trying to
remember the whereabouts of the keys. Therefore there is a need to
have a purse that can provide instant access to the daily used
items and cards. There is also a need to have a purse that allows
the key chain to be attached to it so that the key chain won't be
misplaced. There is also a need to have a purse that can be
attached to a typically large purse or handbag so that the purse,
the items inside the purse, and the attached key chain won't be
misplaced or difficult to find.
[0005] Moreover, handbags or purses are designed or used on
different occasions. One individual may have multiple handbags for
different occasions. However, the daily used items and cards that
are normally carried inside a handbag or purse for each individual
are almost the same every day. Thus an individual will need to
transfer these daily used items and cards from purse to purse when
they change purses. It is troublesome to remove the daily used
items from one bag and transfer to the other bag. Therefore, there
is a need to have a purse of a compact size, which can collectively
hold daily used items, cards and can be easily put in a handbag or
attach to a handbag so that such transfer process is hassle free.
Or this compact sized purse can be easily carried around by the
hand strap.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0006] The primary object of the invention is to provide an instant
access to daily used items such as chap sticks, pills, first aid
items, chewing gums, sanitizers, lip sticks, nail polishes, and
identification cards, credit cards, driver license, etc. whenever
needed, at home, in the car, at work or wherever it may be.
[0007] Another object of the invention is to provide access to an
integrated mirror that helps whenever it is needed such as when
putting on makeup, cleansing faces, etc.
[0008] A further object of the invention is to provide means for
connecting a key chain for holding a set of keys.
[0009] A further object of the invention is to provide a hassle
free means to collectively transfer daily used items and cards from
one handbag to another.
[0010] Yet another object of the invention is to provide a small
hand held purse that holds daily used items and cards so that the
purse can be hand held alone or put in a garment or a jacket for
easy access.
[0011] The present invention is related to a small purse and more
particularly to a small handheld sized purse that may be attached
to a keychain or a lady's bag/regular purse or handheld. The purse
comprises five panels, front panel, back panel, two side panels,
and a bottom panel, as well as a first flap. For each panel and
flap there is an inner wall and an outer wall. The inner walls of
the five panels define the body of the purse for holding daily used
items. The first flap is designed to form the top of the purse to
cover the body and the front cover of the purse. The front panel
and the back panel are equal in size.
[0012] In the preferred embodiment, a male and a female turn locks
are separately located on the first flap and on the front panel,
when engaged, to close the purse. Other locking mechanisms known in
the art may also be used.
[0013] The purse further comprises a sleeve pocket on the back
panel, which can hold credit cards and other cards and is secured
via a fastening mechanism on top of itself and on a second flap.
The fastening mechanism when mated will be hidden from view (i.e.,
the fastener structures are completely covered by the second flap).
A magnet locking mechanism or other locking mechanisms known in the
art may be used.
[0014] In the preferred embodiment, the purse further comprises a
D-ring located at the center of the edge connecting the back panel
and the top of the purse. The D-ring gives the user the option of
hooking the purse to a key chain. In other embodiments, this D
shaped ring can assume any other shapes.
[0015] The purse further comprises a hand strap with a hook and a
D-ring at one of the ends. The hook can be used to hook the D-ring
on the purse. The hand strap helps carry the purse by hand and to
hook it to the outside of lady's bags or a regular purse. In a
preferred embodiment, this hook is a snap hook. The D shaped ring
can also assume any other shapes.
[0016] The purse further comprises a mirror or a lighted mirror on
the inside of the top. It may further comprise a flash light, or a
digital clock either on the front or side of the body.
[0017] The purse can be made of leather, PVC, fabric or any other
materials known in the art. The purse may be made in different
sizes. It may assume different design features and appearance other
than what is indicated in the drawings.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
[0028] A purse comprises five panels, front panel, back panel, two
side panels, and a bottom panel, as well as a first flap. For each
panel and flap there is an inner wall and outer wall. The inner
walls of the five panels define the body of the purse to hold daily
used items. The first flap is designed to form the top of the purse
to cover the body and the front cover of the purse.
[0029] The outer wall of the front panel of the purse contains a
female end of a turn lock located at the center of the width and
about a third of the length of the front panel from the top
edge.
[0030] The outer wall of the back panel of the purse contains a
sleeve pocket with an open slot for easy access to put or remove
the credit card and identification cards into and from the sleeve
pocket. On the outer wall of the sleeve pocket, there is a female
end of the lock. A second flap is about one third of the width of
the back panel extending from the center of the upper edge of the
back panel and folds toward the outer wall of the sleeve pocket to
allow the male end of the lock on the edge of the second flap to
engage to the female end of the lock on the outer wall of the
sleeve pocket. A magnet locking mechanism or other locking
mechanisms known in the art may be used.
[0031] The first flap, which has the same width as the back panel,
extending from the upper edge of the back panel is divided
horizontally into two sections. The first section connected to the
upper edge of the back panel when folded inwards forms the top of
the purse to cover the body. The second section is folded downward
and perpendicular to the first section (top) towards the bottom of
the purse and overlapped the top portion of the outer wall of the
front panel to allow the male end of the turn lock on the second
section to engage with the female end of the lock on the front
panel to cover the front panel for securing the daily used items
stored inside the body.
[0032] There is a mirror located on the inner wall of the top,
which is the first section of the first flap, of the purse. The
mirror could be a lighted mirror. The integrated mirror helps
whenever it is needed, such as when putting on makeup, cleansing
faces, etc. A D-ring is located at the center of the edge
connecting the back panel and the top of the purse. The D-ring
gives the user the option of hooking the purse to a key chain. This
D shaped ring can assume any other shapes.
[0033] The purse further comprises a hand strap with a snap hook
and a D-ring at one of the ends. The snap hook can be used to hook
to the D-ring on the purse. The hand strap helps the user to carry
the purse by hand and to allow hooking onto the outside of lady's
bags or a regular purse.
[0034] FIG. 1 discloses a front view of a purse 100 in a closed
position wherein the second section of the flap 6b folded against
the outer wall of the front panel 1 to cover and lock the front
panel 1 via a turnlock 10. FIG. 1 also shows a D-ring 12 on the
edge between the first section of the flap 6a and the back panel 2
(both are not shown in FIG. 1).
[0035] The front view of an open purse is disclosed in FIG. 2. It
provides the outer wall of the front panel 1 and the inner wall of
the back panel 2 with a flap 6 extending from the upper edge of the
back panel 2. The flap 6 has two sections. The first section 6a
when folded inwards forms the top of the purse. Inner walls of the
front panel 1, back panel 2, two side panels 3 and 4 (not shown in
FIG. 2) and the bottom panel 5 (not shown in FIG. 2) form a body 14
of the purse for holding regular routine items. On the inner wall
of the first section 6a, which is the top of the purse, there is a
mirror 11. The mirror 11 could be a lighted mirror. On the inner
wall of the second section 6b there is a male end of the turn lock
10b.
[0036] FIG. 3 illustrates a back view of the purse wherein the
outer wall of the back panel 2 contains a sleeve pocket 7 which can
hold identification cards, credit cards, etc. A small second flap 8
extending from the upper edge of the back panel 2 when folded
against the outer wall of the sleeve pocket 7 can secure the
opening 15 of the sleeve pocket 7 via a locking mechanism 9, which
is hidden by the flap 8. The locking mechanism 9 is drawn in the
figure to show its location. The D-ring 12 is also shown in this
figure on the top of the purse.
[0037] FIGS. 4a and 4b show both a right and left side views of the
purse 100 respectively, wherein the right side panel 3 in FIG. 4a
and the left side panel 4 in FIG. 4b border the front panel 1 and
the back panel 2. On the outer wall of the front panel 1 there is a
flap 6b with a turn lock 10 that folds against and lock the front
panel 1. Both FIGS. 4a and 4b also show a sleeve pocket 7 on the
back panel 2 and a second flap 8 locked to the sleeve pocket 7 via
a locking mechanism which is not shown.
[0038] The top view of an embodiment is shown in FIG. 5a; the
bottom view of an embodiment is shown in FIG. 5b. From the top
view, the outer wall of the top of the purse, which is the first
section of the flap 6a can be seen in FIG. 5a. From the bottom
view, outer wall of the bottom 5 of the purse can be seen in FIG.
5b. The second flap 8, sleeve pocket 7 and turn lock 10 are also
shown in both FIGS. 5a and 5b.
[0039] FIG. 6 is a hand strap 13 with a snap hook 16 and a D-ring
17 connected at one of the ends. The snap hook 16 can be used to
hook the D-ring 12 on the purse. The hand strap 13 helps carry the
purse by hand and to hook it outside of lady's bags.
[0040] A perspective view of the purse is disclosed in FIG. 7
wherein the front panel 1, bottom panel 5, right side panel 3, edge
of back panel 2, sleeve pocket 7, the first flap 6b with a turn
lock 10, and strap 13 with hook 16 and D-ring 17 are shown.
[0041] The key chain purse can be made of leather, PVC, fabric or
any other materials known in the art. The key chain purse can be
made in different sizes. It may also assume different design
features and appearance other than what is indicated in the
drawings. A digital clock and a mini flash light may be
incorporated into the purse either in the front or side of the body
(not shown in the drawings). The inside of the body may be divided
into compartments to organize the items put in the purse.
