Description

BACKGROUND

[0001] 1. Technical Field

[0002] The present disclosure relates to enclosures, more particularly to an enclosure with a mounting member.

[0003] 2. Description of Related Art

[0004] An electronic device usually includes an enclosure body and a mounting panel mounted to the enclosure body. The mounting panel is used for mounting a printed circuit board (PCB). The enclosure body has a plurality of mounting protrusions extending from a bottom panel of the enclosure body. The mounting panel is mounted to the enclosure body via the mounting protrusions. However, another mounting panel may not be mounted to the enclosure body, which has no structure corresponding to the mounting protrusions.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0005] Many aspects of the embodiments can be better understood with references to the following drawings. The components in the drawings are not necessarily drawn to scale, the emphasis instead being placed upon clearly illustrating the principles of the embodiments. Moreover, in the drawings, like reference numerals designate corresponding parts throughout the several views.

[0006] FIG. 1 is an exploded, isometric view of an enclosure in accordance with an embodiment.

[0007] FIG. 2 is an isometric view of a mounting member of FIG. 1.

[0008] FIG. 3 is an assembled view of FIG. 1.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

[0009] The disclosure is illustrated by way of example and not by way of limitation in the figures of the accompanying drawings in which like references indicate similar elements. It should be noted that references to "an" or "one" embodiment in this disclosure are not necessarily to the same embodiment, and such references mean at least one.

[0010] Referring to FIG. 1, an enclosure in accordance with an embodiment includes an enclosure body 10, a mounting panel 20, and a mounting member 30.

[0011] The enclosure body 10 includes a bottom panel 11 and a side panel perpendicularly extending from the bottom panel 11. The bottom panel defines a polygon-shaped recess portion 111. In one embodiment, the recess portion 111 is hexagon-shaped. A through hole 112 is defined in the center of the recess portion 111.

[0012] A mounting opening 21 is defined in the mounting panel 20. The mounting opening defines a wider part 211 and a narrower part 212 connected to the wider part 211. The mounting panel 20 includes a flange 22 surrounding the narrower part 212. In one embodiment, the flange 22 is U-shaped.

[0013] The mounting member 30 includes a mounting protrusion 31 and a securing element 32. The mounting protrusion 31 includes a positioning portion 311, a mounting portion 312 extending from the positioning portion 311, and a stopper portion 313 extending from the mounting portion 312. The positioning portion 311 is hexagon-shaped corresponding to the recess portion 111 for be prevented from rotating about an axis perpendicular to the bottom panel. A cross section of the mounting portion 312 is less than a cross section of the stopper portion 313 taken along a plane parallel to the bottom panel 11. The stopper portion 313 is column-shaped. A securing hole 314 is defined in the mounting protrusion 31 corresponding to the through hole 112. The securing hole 314 defines a plurality of inner screws

[0014] The securing element 32 includes a head portion 321 and a securing portion 322 extending from the head portion 321. A cross section of the head portion 321 is greater than a cross section of the securing portion 322. The securing portion 322 defines a plurality of outer screws corresponding to the inner screws of the securing hole 314.

[0015] Referring to FIGS. 1 to 3, in assembly, the positioning portion 311 of the mounting protrusion 31 is located in the recess portion 111 of the bottom panel 11, at the same time, the securing hole 314 of the mounting protrusion 31 is aligned with the through hole 112. The securing portion 322 of the securing element 32 is threaded into the securing hole 314 from an outer side of the bottom panel 11, thereby securing the mounting member 30 to the bottom panel 11 of the enclosure body 10. The positioning portion 311 of the mounting protrusion 31 is located in the recess portion 111, and the mounting protrusion 31 cannot move relative to the bottom panel 11.

[0016] The mounting opening 21 of the mounting panel 20 is aligned with the mounting protrusion 31. The mounting protrusion 31 extends through the wider part 211 of the mounting opening 21, and then it moves to the narrower part 212 until the mounting protrusion 31 contacts the flange 22 of the mounting panel 20. At this time, the mounting portion 312 is located in the narrower part 212 of the mounting panel 20. The stopper portion 313 resists the flange 22.

[0017] In disassembly, the mounting panel 20 is moved, in a direction parallel to the bottom panel 11. The stopper portion 313 of the mounting protrusion 31 disengages from the flange 22 and the mounting protrusion 31 moves to the wider part 211 from the narrower part 212. Thereby the mounting panel 20 is easily dismounted from the enclosure body 10.

[0018] It is to be understood, however, that even though numerous characteristics and advantages have been set forth in the foregoing description of embodiments, together with details of the structures and functions of the embodiments, the disclosure is illustrative only and changes may be made in detail, especially in matters of shape, size, and arrangement of parts within the principles of the disclosure to the full extent indicated by the broad general meaning of the terms in which the appended claims are expressed.
