MULTIFUNCTIONAL TWISTING MOVEMENT APPARATUS
Abstract
The multifunctional twisting movement apparatus of the present
invention can perform various twisting movements while rollers
formed on the bottom surfaces of left and right foot plates execute
a surfing-like wave-form curvilinear movement along a wave-form
curvilinear bar provided separately at the periphery of a twisting
rotating plate while a half-turn movement is repeated by the
twisting rotating plate which is provided at the centre of a
moving-piece body as a rowing movement between handle operations.
Consequently, there are advantageous effects in that the rowing
movement, twisting movement, wave-form movement and the like can be
executed in parallel, and in that a step movement can be executed
by detaching the wave-form curvilinear bar as required.

second driving members 7 connected to the left and right ends of
the rope 10 different, such that it is possible to freely control
the load during the rowing exercise with the tension controller
10a.
Second Embodiment
[0065] FIG. 11 is a perspective view of a multifunctional twisting
movement apparatus according to a second embodiment of the present
invention. FIG. 11 shows only the different components from the
multifunctional twisting movement apparatus according to the first
embodiment of the present invention shown in FIGS. 1 to 5 and the
same components are not shown.
[0066] As shown in FIG. 11, in the multifunctional twisting
movement apparatus according to a second embodiment of the present
invention, the upper portions of pivot bars 22 are coupled to
fixing members 21a formed at the left and right sides of a body 21
to pivot forward/rearward and handle bars 23 are coupled to the
upper ends of the pivot bars 22 such that the angle can be adjusted
left and right.
[0067] Further, driving members 24 are coupled to driving pins 24a
fastened to the lower ends of the pivot members 22 in the body 21.
The pivot members 24 are moved forward/rearward by the pivot of the
pivot bars 22.
[0068] In addition, one end of an operation member 25 is connected
to the front end of the driving member 24. The middle portion of
the operation member is fixed to a sub-longitudinal support 21b-1
of the body 21 and the other end of the operation member 25 is
connected to a second circular gear plate 26. The circular gear
plate 26 is engaged with a first circular gear plate 29a, with a
larger diameter, to make the first circular gear plate 29a fastened
to the center of the body 21 repeat half-turn. In this
configuration, the first circular gear plate 29a corresponds to the
circular gear plate 9a according to the first embodiment of the
present invention. Further, a rotary plate, left and right foot
plates, and waving part mounted on the circular gear plate 29a
correspond to the rotary plate 13, the left and right foot plates
12, and the waving part 13a of the multifunctional twisting
movement apparatus according to the first embodiment of the present
invention, which are described above.
[0069] As described above, in the second embodiment, the rotational
force of the first circular gear plate 29a for twisting exercise is
provided through a simpler and stronger structure from the handle
bars 23 to the second circular gear plate 26. Meanwhile, the
multifunctional twisting movement apparatus according to the second
embodiment of the present invention can have three operational
features, as well as the first embodiment.
[0070] Further, the multifunctional twist movement apparatus
according to the second embodiment of the present invention further
includes pistons 27a connected at the middle portions fastened to
the other ends of the operation members 25 and cylinders 27b
connected to the rear end of the body 21 and protruding outward
from the rear end and equipped with controllers 27c controlling the
magnitude of the internal pressure. According to this
configuration, similar to the rope 10 and the tension controller
10a according to the first embodiment of the present invention, it
is possible to provide operation load during rowing exercise with
the handle bars 25 and adjust the operation load. The cylinders 27b
may be any one of hydraulic cylinders or pneumatic cylinders.
[0071] FIG. 12 is a view showing the connection between a handle
bar and a pivot bar according to the second embodiment of the
present invention.
[0072] As shown in FIG. 12, in the multifunctional twisting
movement apparatus according to the second embodiment of the
present invention, a fastening bolt hole 23a, a first adjusting
bolt hole 23b, and a second adjusting bolt 23c are formed in the
up-down direction at the lower end of the handle bar 23 while a
fastening bolt 22a, a first adjusting bolt 22b, and an oblong
second adjusting bolt hole 22c indicating the left-right pivot
angle are formed in the up-down direction at the upper end of the
pivot bar 22, such that they can be coupled by nuts (not shown).
The structure further includes the second adjusting bolt 23c and
the second adjusting bolt hole 22c, in comparison to the fastening
structure of the handle bars and the pivot bars according to the
first embodiment of the present invention shown in FIG. 9, such
that they are more firmly fastened and the left-right adjustment
angle is more clearly indicated, such that the user can be provided
with safety and convenience. Meanwhile, it is possible to remove
repulsive feel due to metal and further provide convenience by
cover the upper portions of the handle bars 23 with handle bar caps
23d made of synthetic resin. Further, it is possible to achieve
smoother pivot by implementing the shaft fastening the pivot bars
22 to the shaft fixing member 21a with bearings 21b, such that it
is possible to improve durability of the multifunctional twisting
movement apparatus.
[0073] FIG. 13 is a view illustrating a operational load structure
provided for the handle bar according to the second embodiment of
the present invention.
[0074] As shown in FIG. 13, the multifunctional twisting movement
apparatus according to the second embodiment of the present
invention includes elastic supports 28a and fixing members 28b in
order to adjust and provide operation load directly to the handle
bar 23 during rowing exercise, in addition to the pistons 27a and
the cylinders 27b described above.
[0075] The elastic support 28a protrudes through the handle bar 23
to be movable forward/rearward and an elastic member 28c, such as a
spring, is disposed between the front protrusion and the handle bar
23. The fixing member 28b is formed ahead of the elastic support
28a and provides operation load by compressing the elastic member
28c while the handle bar 23 moves forward (see (b) of FIG. 13). In
this configuration, as the fixing member 28b is thread-fastened to
a fixing member support 28d such that the position can be adjusted
forward/rearward, it is possible to adjust the intensity of the
operation load. That is, as the fixing member 28b is moved
rearward, the operation load is increased, while as the fixing
member 28b is moved forward, the operation load is decreased.
[0076] FIGS. 14 and 15 are views illustrating the structure of a
safety device of the multifunctional twisting movement apparatus
according to the second embodiment of the present invention.
[0077] As shown in FIGS. 14 and 15, the multifunctional twisting
movement apparatus according to the second embodiment of the
present invention includes foot plate caps 32a, foot plates 32b,
and brakes 32c to prevent an accident due to rapid turn when a
beginner places the feet on the left and right foot plates 32.
[0078] The foot plate caps 32a are the bases where the foot plates
32b and the brakes 32c are mounted. The foot plates 32b are mounted
on the foot plate caps 32a such that the front portions can pivot
up/down, such that the rear portions are placed to pivot up/down.
The brakes 32c are fastened to the rear ends of the sides of the
foot plate caps 32a and pivot from the lower portion when the foot
plates 32b come in contact with the foot plate caps 32a. In detail,
the brakes 32c face down by lower support springs 32d in a normal
state, and when an external force is applied to the foot plates 32b
and the foot plates 32b come in contact with the foot plate caps
32a, the fixed brakes 32c are operated, such that the lower support
springs 32d are compressed and the brakes 32c pivoted forward from
the lower portion.
[0079] According to this structure, as shown in (a) of FIG. 15, the
brakes 32c of the left and right foot plates 32 face down in the
normal state, and as shown in (b) of FIG. 15, when an external
force is applied to the foot plates 32 by a user getting on, the
brakes 32c are operated. That is, when the user gets on the foot
plates for the first time, the left and right foot plates 32 can be
prevented from rapidly turning left and right due to a friction
force of a cover plate 21-1 being in contact with the lower
portion. As the external force is applied, the brakes 32c are
gradually moved forward, and kept fixed at the front by the weight
of the user exercising, without interfering with the exercise.
[0080] Further, even though the user gets off the foot plates after
finishing exercise and the external force applied to the left and
right foot plates 32 is removed, the friction force from the cover
plate 21-1 is exerted by the operational features described above,
such that the brakes 32c are operated. Accordingly, it is possible
to preclude an accident.
[0081] FIG. 16 is a view illustrating the structure of another
safety device of the multifunctional twisting movement apparatus
according to the second embodiment of the present invention.
[0082] As shown in FIG. 16, the multifunctional twisting movement
apparatus according to the second embodiment of the present
invention may further include anti-rear turn members 32e that are
formed at the left and right rear potions on the cover plate 21-1
and prevent the left and right foot plates 32 from turning
rearward. In this configuration, the anti-rear turn members 32e are
formed in an elastic roller shape, such that it is possible to
prevent the left and right foot plates 32 from turning rearward by
a predetermined level by locking them while absorbing the contact
shock.
Other Embodiments
[0083] (A) According to another embodiment of the present
invention, it is possible to replace the roller support 11d with a
support rope (33 in FIG. 15) of use both of them. In the support
rope, the center is supported by the middle upper portions of the
left and right foot plates and both ends are fastened to the left
and right foot plates. According to this structure, the support
rope supports the left and right foot plates while moving left and
right on the left and right foot plates during step exercise, such
that the step exercise can be smoothly performed.
[0084] (B) As show in FIGS. 1 and 11, the multifunctional twisting
movement apparatus according to an embodiment of the present
invention may further include body wheels 31 fastened to the left
and right rear ends of the bodies 1 and 21. The multifunctional
twisting movement apparatus can be moved easily by providing the
body wheels 31.
[0085] As described above, it should be understood that the
technical configuration of the present invention may be implemented
in various ways without changing the spirit or the necessary
components of the present invention by those skilled in the
art.
