Child carry bag
Abstract
A carrying bag is provided which is able to be fully opened on
all sides so as to provide easy access, and complete visibility, as
to the contents. The bag has pockets attached to the sides, with
each pocket having a smaller adjacent pocket which accommodates a
label denoting the intended contents of that particular pocket. The
bag also has means to allow it to be hung in either a flattened or
partially closed state, with stowable hooks or re-enforced holes
added to the sides for this purpose.

fastened together with their adjacent sides, so that the bag is
capable of being fully closed.
2) A bag, as claimed in claim 1, wherein said sides have pockets
attached.
3) A bag as in claim 2 wherein said pockets have flaps which close
said pockets.
4) A bag as in claim 2 wherein said pockets are transparent.
5) A bag as in claim 2 wherein said pockets have smaller adjacent
pockets, to accommodate labels denoting the intended contents of
the said pockets.
6) A bag comprising: Six sides, in which four of said sides are
extended from one of said sides at its four edges, and where each
of said four sides have a rectangular lower portion and a
triangular upper portion extending from said lower portion with
said lower portion and said upper portion connected by a crease,
and wherein said sides are connected to the adjacent sides by
fasteners at their edges, to enable said sides to be fastened
together to their adjacent sides, so that the bag is capable of
being fully closed.
7) A bag, as claimed in claim 6, wherein said sides have pockets
attached to their inside or outside faces or to both their inside
and outside faces.
8) A bag as in claim 7 wherein said pockets have flaps which close
said pockets.
9) A bag as in claim 7 wherein said pockets are transparent.
10) A bag as in claim 7 wherein said pockets have smaller adjacent
pockets, to accommodate labels denoting the intended contents of
the said pockets.
11) A bag that has features to permit it to be hung in either a
closed state, or partially open, or fully open state.
12) A bag as in claim 11 wherein said hanging features may be
carrying handles.
13) A bag as in claim 11 wherein said hanging features may be hooks
which are attached to the bag.
14) A bag as in claim 11 wherein said hanging features may be
reinforced openings in one or more sides of the bag.

Description
CROSS REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATION
[0001] This application claims priority of U.S. provisional patent
application No. 61/378,452 filed on Aug. 31, 2010.
BACKGROUND OF INVENTION
[0002] Many children live in two homes and need to carry many
personal items back and forth, such as toys, books, clothes, and
medications. Backpacks are often used to transport these items, but
the way backpacks are loaded without visibility of their contents
provides inadequate protection against the possibility of items
being left behind in either home.
[0003] The subject invention provides for a bag that can be opened
out flat, to reveal pockets within. Each pocket can be dedicated,
and labeled with a written label, indicating the item or items
carried in each pocket. Once the bag, subject of this invention, is
loaded and the contents verified by labels related to each pocket,
the bag can be closed with zip fasteners, velcro, or other
fasteners. The bag may have carrying handles and, if required, can
be hung in its flattened state or semi closed state (complete with
contents) on a hook or on a closet pole, by means of the carrying
handles or a stowable hook, or the bag may be hung by means of a
reinforced hole in one of the open sides of the bag.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0004] FIG. 1 View of bag in its flattened state.
[0005] FIG. 2 View of bag with 3 sides closed.
[0006] FIG. 3 View of bag fully closed.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
[0007] With reference to FIG. 1. In a preferred embodiment there is
provided a bag 10 having sides 11 around the periphery, and
preferably transparent pockets 12 attached to the sides 11. The bag
10 can be opened out, on one or more of the sides 11, to reveal
pockets 12. In a second embodiment (not shown), pockets 12 may also
be added to the outside of sides 11. When all sides of the bag 10
are fully opened it can be laid out flat, with all of the inside
pockets then accessible for inserting or removing items.
[0008] The sides 11 hinge relative to the base 13 at folds 14, and
lower part of sides 25 further hinge relative to their upper
triangular extensions 26 at folds 27, with the sides 11 able to be
attached to the adjacent sides 11 along their edges by means of
four zip fasteners, or Velcro, or other fasteners 15, said
fasteners terminating at points 16.
[0009] The pockets 12 may have smaller preferably transparent
adjacent pockets 20 for inserting labels which identify the
intended contents of pockets 12. The pockets 12 may also have flaps
21 attached above their openings 22 with closure devices 23, such
as Velcro, attached to said flaps 21 that allow the pockets 12 to
be closed by the flaps 21.
[0010] With reference to FIG. 1, bag 10 is preferably loaded and
unloaded with its intended contents when it is in a flattened
state. However, with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2, it may also be
loaded and unloaded with one or more sides 11 of the bag 10
attached to adjacent sides 11 by means of fasteners 15.
[0011] Bags 10 may be made from suitable fabrics or plastics, and
may be in a variety of colors.
[0012] With reference to FIGS. 2 & 3, bag 10 may have one or
more re-enforced openings 18 for hanging bag 10 vertically on a
hook. Alternatively, or additionally, a hook 19 may be attached to
the bag 10, for hanging the bag 10 on a closet pole 24. When not in
use, hook 19 may rotate for stowage.
[0013] With reference to FIG. 3. The sides 11 may have carrying
handles 17.
