Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0001] 1. Field of the Invention
[0002] The present invention relates to a pitcher, and more
particularly to one capable of keeping water, drink, or wine at a
cool temperature for a period of time.
[0003] 2. Description of the Prior Art
[0004] When the weather is hot or after exercise, it is a please to
drink a cool beverage. Usually, beverages are stored in a fridge
for cooling. When the beverage is taken out of the fridge,
temperature of the beverage will rise gradually. Sometimes, the
user may pour ice cubes into the beverage to keep the beverage
cool. However, the beverage will be diluted by the ice cubes, which
influences the flavor of the beverage.
[0005] Accordingly, the inventor of the present invention has
devoted himself based on his many years of practical experiences to
the development of a pitcher for keeping the drink in the pitcher
at a cool temperature. The pitcher has two spaces to contain the
drink and ice cubes separately, so that the drink won't be diluted
by the ice cubes.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0006] The primary object of the present invention is to provide a
pitcher structure capable of keeping drink, water or juice at a
cool temperature for a period of time. By the way of separating ice
cubes from the drink, the drink won't be diluted.
[0007] According to the present invention, there is provided a
pitcher, comprising a pitcher body having a space therein; a cover
body disposed on top of the pitcher body, the cover body having an
accommodating post extending downward from a central portion
thereof, the accommodating post having an inner space; and a top
lid covering the inner space of the accommodating post.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0008] FIG. 1 is a cross-sectional view of a preferred embodiment
of the present invention; and
[0009] FIG. 2 is a cross-sectional view of the preferred embodiment
of the present invention in use.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
[0010] Embodiments of the present invention will now be described,
by way of example only, with reference to the accompanying
drawings.
[0011] As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, a pitcher according to a
preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises a pitcher
body 1, a cover body 2, a washer 3, and a top lid 4.
[0012] The pitcher body 1 has a space 11 therein for filling with
drink, water, juice, or wine. The pitcher body 1 has an open top, a
handle 12 at one side thereof, and a spout 13 at an upper edge
thereof. A user can grasp the handle 12 and pour the drink in the
space 11 out of the pitcher via the spout 13.
[0013] The cover body 2 is disposed on the open top of the pitcher
body 1. The cover body 2 comprises a protruding ring 21 for
engaging with the open top of the pitcher body 1, a concave portion
22 at the center of the cover body 2, a circular rib 23 and a
circular groove 24 formed in the concave portion 22, and an
accommodating post 25 extending downward from the concave portion
22. The accommodating post 25 has an inner space 26. The concave
portion 22 is provided with a stop plate 27 at one side
thereof.
[0014] The washer 3 is made of a soft material and disposed in the
circular groove 24.
[0015] The top lid 4 disposed on the concave portion 22 comprises a
peripheral side wall 41 to press the washer 3 and an engaging block
42 at one side thereof. The engaging block 42 corresponds to the
stop plate 27.
[0016] FIG. 2 shows the present invention in use. The space 11 of
the pitcher body 1 is filled with a drink 5. The cover body 2 is
placed on the pitcher body 1. The inner space 26 of the cover body
2 is filled with ice cubes 6 to keep the drink 5 at a cool
temperature for a period of time. Because the ice cubes 6 and the
drink 5 are separated, the drink 5 won't be diluted.
[0017] The top lid 4 covers the concave portion 22, and the
peripheral side wall 41 corresponds in position to the washer 3 and
holds against the washer 3 so as to form a sealed state. The top
lid 4 is rotated with the engaging block 42 engaging with the stop
plate 27 so that the top lid 4 won't disengage from the concave
portion 22.
[0018] The inner space 26 is formed from the top to the bottom of
the cover body 2 so that the top of the inner space 26 is open for
filling with the ice cubes 6 easily.
[0019] Although particular embodiments of the present invention
have been described in detail for purposes of illustration, various
modifications and enhancements may be made without departing from
the spirit and scope of the present invention. Accordingly, the
present invention is not to be limited except as by the appended
claims.
