Flexible Simulated Carbon Bed
Abstract
The present invention relates to a stereo flexible charcoal bed
and an electric fireplace with a flexible charcoal bed comprising a
vessel with at least one transparent bottom, a number of charcoals
disposed in the vessel comprising a number of movable light-holding
charcoals with a plurality of transparent surfaces, an imaging
mechanism disposed on the charcoals. The essential effect of the
present invention is to solve the monotone charcoal flame, bad
sense of stereo and poor visual effect of the exiting electric
fireplace, meanwhile, the problems such as bad simulative effect,
and lack of reality and the sense of stereo are solved as well. The
charcoal flame structure of the present invention could change
arbitrarily and the light-spots of burning flame are sparkling
intermittently with bright and shade. The visual effect and the
authenticity are both perfect.

Claims
1. A stereo flexible charcoal bed, comprising: a vessel (1) with at
least one transparent bottom; a number of charcoals disposed in the
vessel (1) comprising a number of movable light-holding charcoals
(2) with a plurality of transparent surfaces; and an imaging
mechanism (3) disposed on the charcoals.
2. The stereo flexible charcoal bed as claimed in claim 1, wherein
the vessel (1) is of oblique structure or a strip-shaped
transparent flat box disposed obliquely, a transparent cover (7) is
disposed on the vessel (1), the imaging mechanism (3) is disposed
on the cover (7).
3. The stereo flexible charcoal bed as claimed in claim 2, wherein
the cover (7) is of flat structure, the imaging mechanism (3) is a
mat surface structure disposed on the lower side of the cover (7)
or a imaging piece attached on the lower side of the cover (7), the
area of the mat structure or the size of the imaging piece matches
the area or the size of the cover (7).
4. The stereo flexible charcoal bed as claimed in claim 3, wherein
a number of movable light-holding charcoals (2) with a plurality of
transparent surfaces are disposed under the cover (7).
5. The stereo flexible charcoal bed as claimed in claim 1, wherein
the light-holding charcoals (2) are a polyhedron with numerous
refracting surfaces, a charcoal flame bright section (5) is formed
at where the light-holding charcoals (2) are close to the imaging
mechanism (3), a wedge gap around the charcoal flame bright section
is a light-holding section (6).
6. The stereo flexible charcoal bed as claimed in claim 1, wherein
a plurality of simulative charcoals (4) with nature charcoal shape
are disposed in the vessel (1), the simulative charcoals (4) are of
transparent or translucent, the proportion of the simulative
charcoals (4) and the light-holding charcoals (2) is from 1:2 to
1:8.
7. The stereo flexible charcoal bed as claimed in claim 2, wherein
a plurality of simulative charcoals (4) with nature charcoal shape
are disposed in the vessel (1), the simulative charcoals (4) are of
transparent or translucent, the proportion of the simulative
charcoals (4) and the light-holding charcoals (2) is from 1:2 to
1:8.
8. The stereo flexible charcoal bed as claimed in claim 3, wherein
a plurality of simulative charcoals (4) with nature charcoal shape
are disposed in the vessel (1), the simulative charcoals (4) are of
transparent or translucent, the proportion of the simulative
charcoals (4) and the light-holding charcoals (2) is from 1:2 to
1:8.
9. The stereo flexible charcoal bed as claimed in claim 4, wherein
a plurality of simulative charcoals (4) with nature charcoal shape
are disposed in the vessel (1), the simulative charcoals (4) are of
transparent or translucent, the proportion of the simulative
charcoals (4) and the light-holding charcoals (2) is from 1:2 to
1:8.
10. The stereo flexible charcoal bed as claimed in claim 5, wherein
a plurality of simulative charcoals (4) with nature charcoal shape
are disposed in the vessel (1), the simulative charcoals (4) are of
transparent or translucent, the proportion of the simulative
charcoals (4) and the light-holding charcoals (2) is from 1:2 to
1:8.
11. A electric fireplace with stereo flexible charcoal bed,
comprising: a light source; a flame generator; an imaging screen;
and a stereo flexible charcoal bed disposed at the bottom of the
imaging screen, comprising: a vessel (1) with at least one
transparent bottom; a number of charcoals disposed in the vessel
(1) comprising a number of movable light-holding charcoals (2) with
a plurality of transparent surfaces; an imaging mechanism (3)
disposed on the charcoals; and a bottom flame generator (8)
disposed at the bottom portion of the vessel (1).
12. The electric fireplace with stereo flexible charcoal bed as
claimed in claim 11, wherein the vessel (1) is of oblique structure
or a strip-shaped transparent flat box disposed obliquely, the
vessel (1) is disposed at front side of the imaging screen; the
length of the vessel (1) is equal to the width of the imaging
screen.
13. The electric fireplace with stereo flexible charcoal bed as
claimed in claim 11, wherein a transparent cover (7) is disposed on
the vessel (1), the imaging mechanism (3) is a mat surface
structure or a imaging piece attached the charcoals, the area of
the mat structure or the size of the imaging piece matches the area
or the size of the cover (7).
14. The electric fireplace with stereo flexible charcoal bed as
claimed in claim 11, wherein a plurality of simulative charcoals
(4) with nature charcoal shape are disposed in the vessel (1), the
simulative charcoals (4) are of transparent or translucent, the
proportion of the simulative charcoals (4) and the light-holding
charcoals is from 1:2 to 1:8.
15. The electric fireplace with stereo flexible charcoal bed as
claimed in claim 12, wherein a plurality of simulative charcoals
(4) with nature charcoal shape are disposed in the vessel (1), the
simulative charcoals (4) are of transparent or translucent, the
proportion of the simulative charcoals (4) and the light-holding
charcoals is from 1:2 to 1:8.
16. The electric fireplace with stereo flexible charcoal bed as
claimed in claim 13, wherein a plurality of simulative charcoals
(4) with nature charcoal shape are disposed in the vessel (1), the
simulative charcoals (4) are of transparent or translucent, the
proportion of the simulative charcoals (4) and the light-holding
charcoals is from 1:2 to 1:8.
Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The present invention relates to an electric fireplace, more
particularly, a stereo flexible charcoal bed and an electric
fireplace with a stereo flexible charcoal bed.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0002] The simulative charcoal bed of the conventional electric
fireplace is of integral strip structure made of translucent
material. The charcoal bed is disposed at the back of and below the
image screen of the electric fireplace, and a charcoal flame image
is formed on the image screen after the projection of imaging light
source. The structure described above leads to dull appearance of
the charcoal flame and bad visual effect. Moreover, the color of
the charcoal flame is achieved by coloring the simulative charcoal
bed and the image screen. The color and brightness of the charcoal
flame is very monotonous and lack of variety. To solve the
shortcomings described above, an independent light source for the
simulative charcoal bed is adopted. Such as the artificial wood for
electric fireplace disclosed in the patent with publication date
Apr. 7 2004 and publication number CN 2610233, comprises an
artificial wood base and a light source. The base is an irregular
transparent chamber with artificial wood figure. LED or light bulbs
are disposed in the chamber. Each LED tubes or light bulbs are
connected in series or in parallel and then lead out of the base by
a conducting wire to connect with an external power source. The
artificial wood base is of translucent material with pigment layers
disposed irregularly on the external surface. The pigment layers
can be chosen from various colors according to simulation needs,
ordinarily, the dark brown similar to the wood color. The patent
described above combines the artificial wood base and the light
source. The light source is disposed in the artificial wood base.
The base with pigment layer irregularly smeared on the external
surface is made of transparent material. Thus, when the light
source inside generates light, a kind of artificial burning effect
with light and shade stager with each other is achieved, which is
similar to the effect of burning charcoals. The structure is
simple, realistic, and independent light source is disposed inside
every simulative wood which means one could arrange and stack the
wood arbitrarily. The figure and realism is closely to the natural
burning flame. Such as the electric fireplace with LED light source
disclosed in the patent with publication date Apr. 14 2008 and
publication number CN 201050823, comprises a electric fireplace
housing, a image screen with a central portion disposed vertically,
simulative charcoals disposed in front of the image screen, a
reflective axis disposed at the back of the image screen to reflect
light to the image screen, a plurality of LED disposed in the
simulative charcoal, a plurality of LED projecting light to the
reflective axis disposed below the reflective axis. The LED with
various colors disposed inside the simulative charcoals acts as a
light source of the simulative effect to get multi-layers of
simulative colors in variation. The LED projecting light to the
reflective axis disposed below the reflective axis acts as the
light source of simulative flame, all of the light projects to the
reflective axis. The reflective axis reflects the light to the
image screen and a flame image is simulated on the image screen.
The shift between light and shade of the LED as reflecting light
source makes a sparkling effect of the electric fireplace
simulative flame with more reality. The structures described above
improves the light source of the charcoal bed, but the simulative
charcoal bed itself is still of an integrally translucent
structure. The integral structure of charcoal bed influences the
transmission of light, and the translucent structure influences the
brightness of flame, so the improvement of these kinds can not
reach to an ideal visual effect. The charcoal flame simulated
through the structures like the fixed wood or charcoal bed
structure changes the color brightness mainly via the pigment
layers irregularly disposed on the external surface of the wood or
charcoals with intervals. Thus, the shape and brightness of the
charcoal flame are constant and do not change. Thereby, the
external shape of the charcoal flame is monotonous and the visual
effect of the charcoal flame is affected. In addition, the
brightness of charcoal flame does not change while the electric
fireplace is in use and the intermittent light and shad of the
sparkling light-spots is lacking, so the reality and the simulation
effect of the charcoal is seriously affected. Furthermore, the
structure of most exiting charcoal beds are long strip, the depth
from the front to the back of electric fireplace is small, which
brings poor three-dimensional effect of the simulative flame and
affects the reality of charcoal flame structure.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0003] To solve the problems such as dull appearance, bad three
dimension, poor visual effect and etc . . . The present invention
provides a stereo flexible charcoal bed used on an electric
fireplace. The main object of the present invention is to provide a
stereo flexible charcoal bed with varying charcoal flame structure,
intermittent light and shad of the sparkling light-spots, good
sense of stereo and perfect visual effect.
[0004] Another object of the present invention is to provide a
electric fireplace with stereo charcoal bed, the light-spots of
which is sparkling and intermittent light and shad, and the reality
and visual effect of which is perfect. The problems of the existing
technology such as bad simulation effect, lack of the sense of
stereo and reality are solved.
[0005] According to one exemplary embodiment, the present invention
relates to a stereo flexible charcoal bed comprising a vessel with
at least one transparent bottom, a number of charcoals disposed in
the vessel comprising a number of movable light-holding charcoals
with a plurality of transparent surfaces, an imaging mechanism
disposed on the charcoals. The charcoal bed is a kind of structure
of vessel, and a number of light-holding charcoals with a plurality
of transparent surfaces are disposed in the vessel, which replaces
the wood or charcoal bed with integral structure of the
conventional electric fireplace. Because of the relative
positioning function of the vessel, the light-holding charcoals of
various sizes and shapes in the vessel can change the stacking
position in the vessel arbitrarily to form a charcoal bed structure
of various shapes. Users can customize the figure of the charcoal
bed according to personal visual preference to satisfy every kind
of visual requirements. At the same time, the visual effect of the
electric fireplace is improved. The transparent surface on the
light-holding charcoal refers to a certain surface of the
light-holding charcoal, which is photic, then refracts and reflects
the light passing through, and simultaneously, reflects external
light, so the light is refracted and reflected inside the
light-holding charcoal, among the light-holding charcoal, as well
as between the light-holding charcoal and the image screen for
several times, and a light-holding effect is achieved. In addition,
the shape and size of the light-holding charcoal, the number and
transparent property of transparent surfaces can be chosen
according to personal preference. A plurality of light-tight
surfaces could be disposed on the light-holding charcoals as well.
The imaging mechanism is disposed on the charcoals. The light
projected by the light source disposed on the electric fireplace
and the flame generator passes through the transparent bottom of
the vessel and then projects to the charcoals disposed in the
vessel. An image of burning charcoal flame is formed on the imaging
mechanism disposed on the charcoals.
[0006] Preferably, the vessel (1) is of oblique structure or a
strip-shaped transparent flat box disposed obliquely, a transparent
cover is disposed on the vessel, the imaging mechanism is disposed
on the cover. The strip-shaped transparent flat box meets the
structure requirement of general electric fireplace. Although the
vessel could be disposed horizontally, the vessel with oblique
structure or disposed obliquely meets the structure characteristics
of general charcoal flame which is lower at front and higher at
back better. Meanwhile, the vessel is of constant thickness
structure, which avoids the regional brightness variation of the
imaging screen brought by the variation of the thickness of vessel.
Therefore, the vessel with oblique structure or disposed obliquely
not only simulates the structure characteristics of charcoal flame
which is lower at front and higher at back, but also avoid the
regional brightness variation of the imaging screen brought by the
variation of the thickness of vessel. The transparent cover
disposed on the vessel can guarantee the exterior structure
strength of charcoal bed, as well as facilitate the charcoal
adjustment in the vessel.
[0007] Preferably, the cover is of flat structure, the imaging
mechanism is a mat surface structure disposed on the lower side of
the cover or a imaging piece attached on the lower side of the
cover, the area of the mat structure or the size of the imaging
piece matches the area or the size of the cover. The imaging
mechanism is disposed on or close to the cover with flat structure.
Since the imaging mechanism and the cover are on the same plane, a
clear charcoal flame image is achieved and the definition of the
charcoal flame is guaranteed. Besides, both the imaging mechanism
with mat structure and the image film are existing technology, and
others available imaging mechanism structures could also be
acceptable.
[0008] As a metamorphic exemplary embodiment of the charcoal bed, a
number of movable light-holding charcoals with a plurality of
transparent surfaces are disposed under the cover. A number of
movable light-holding charcoals disposed under the cover increase
the three dimension of the charcoal bed figure. Furthermore, the
position of charcoals disposed under the cover could be moved
arbitrarily. Users can customize the figure of the charcoal bed
according to personal visual preference to satisfy the visual
requirements of every kind.
[0009] Preferably, the light-holding charcoals are a polyhedron
with numerous refracting surfaces, a charcoal flame bright section
is formed at where the light-holding charcoals are close to the
imaging mechanism, a wedge gap around the charcoal flame bright
section is a light-holding section. The polyhedron light-holding
charcoal with numerous refracting surfaces has the functions of
refraction and reflection. Under the projection of irregular light
from the electric fireplace flame generator, the refraction effect
of the light-holding charcoal makes the light of a certain period
and a certain angle focus on the imaging screen. Viewing from the
image screen, the surface of the light-holding charcoal disposed
close to the imaging screen forms a charcoal flame bright section
which is similar to the sparkling light-spots of burning charcoal.
The light from the flame generator is intermittent, so the
sparkling light-spots are intermittently bright and shade, which is
very similar to the burning and lighting circumstance of real
charcoal, and with strong reality. Besides, some varying light
feels like being held in the charcoal bed after numbers of
refraction and reflection by the light-holding charcoal, and some
varying light project directly onto the image screen, some light
reflect several times by the surface of the light-holding charcoal,
that is to say numerous reflections in the wedge gap, and
superposition of several lights, together with the remained visual
and the image combination function of individual brain, the a
light-holding section is formed in the wedge gap around the
charcoal flame bright section which makes people feel like that the
flame stays near the gap space of the charcoals and burns with a
rolling and phantasmagoric configuration, further improves the
reality of the charcoal bed and the visual aesthetic feeling of the
electric fireplace. The light-holding charcoals can also be of a
translucent structure. As the transparent effect of the translucent
structure is relatively worse, the light transmittance of the
charcoal bed is lower, and the brightness of sparkling light-spots
and the light-holding section is of lower. However, the simulative
charcoal flame of the charcoal bed has a haze feeling and thus
another kind of prospect.
[0010] Preferably, a plurality of simulative charcoals with nature
charcoal shape are disposed in the vessel, the simulative charcoals
are of transparent or translucent, the proportion of the simulative
charcoals and the light-holding charcoals is from 1:2 to 1:8. By
interlarding optimum amount of simulative charcoals with
transparent or translucent structure in the light-holding
charcoals, the charcoal bed structure is more close to the real
charcoal flame. What need to be illustrated is that the shape of
the charcoal could be of nubbly structure or stick or stick
structure with branch. As to the simulative charcoals with
transparent and translucent structure, the simulative charcoal with
translucent structure is preferred because the relatively weak
light transmit capability of the simulative charcoal with
translucent structure makes the imaging screen looks darker thereon
and some charcoals among the charcoal bed appears to be of burning
less intensely. At the same time, the brightness of the outline of
simulative charcoals with translucent structure under the
projection of the light from the electric fireplace flame generator
and the refracting and reflecting light from the light-holding
charcoal with polyhedron structure is obviously greater than the
brightness of the central portion of charcoals, which accords with
the structure characteristics of charcoals at early stage of
burning, and thus the simulation effect of the charcoal is
obviously enhanced.
[0011] According to another exemplary embodiment, the present
invention relates to a electric fireplace with stereo flexible
charcoal bed, comprising a light source, a flame generator, an
imaging screen and a stereo flexible charcoal bed disposed at the
bottom of the imaging screen comprising a vessel with at least one
transparent bottom, a number of charcoals disposed in the vessel
comprising a number of movable light-holding charcoals with a
plurality of transparent surfaces, an imaging mechanism disposed on
the charcoals; and a bottom flame generator disposed at the bottom
portion of the vessel. The stereo flexible charcoal bed disposed at
the bottom of the image screen of electric fireplace, replaces the
traditional fixed charcoal bed with long strip shape. Since the
charcoals are disposed inside the vessel, charcoals of various
sizes and shapes could be stacked in the vessel with arbitrarily
position to form a charcoal bed structure of various shapes. Users
can customize the structure of charcoal bed according to personal
visual preference to satisfy different kinds of visual requirement,
and the visual effect of the electric fireplace is improved.
Considering that the light from flame generator disposed at the
back of the image screen is hard to project to the charcoals
disposed in the front of electric fireplace, a flame generator is
specifically disposed at the bottom of vessel, in this way, light
can pass the transparent vessel bottom to illuminate the charcoals
and simulate intermittent light and shad of the sparkling
light-spots on the imaging mechanism disposed above the charcoals.
Compared with the traditional electric fireplaces, the charcoal
flame has strong sense of stereo and reality.

strip-shaped transparent flat box disposed obliquely, the vessel is
disposed at front side of the imaging screen; the length of the
vessel is equal to the width of the imaging screen. The
strip-shaped transparent flat box meets the structure requirement
of general electric fireplace. Although the vessel is disposed
horizontally, the vessel with oblique structure or disposed
obliquely meets the structure characteristics of general charcoal
flame which is lower at front and higher at back better. Meanwhile,
the vessel is of constant thickness structure, which avoids the
regional brightness variation of the imaging screen brought by the
variation of the thickness of vessel. Therefore, the vessel with
oblique structure or disposed obliquely not only simulates the
structure characteristics of charcoal flame which is lower at front
and higher at back, but also avoid the regional brightness
variation of the imaging screen brought by the variation of the
thickness of vessel. The transparent cover disposed on the vessel
can guarantee the exterior structure strength of charcoal bed, as
well as facilitate the charcoal adjustment in the vessel. Just like
the length of the conventional charcoal bed is same with the width
of the image screen, the length of the vessel is same with the
width of image width of electric fireplace too.

bed comprises a vessel 1, the vessel 1 is a strip-shaped
transparent flat box with oblique structure and uniform thickness;
a number of charcoals disposed in the vessel 1 comprising a number
of movable light-holding charcoals 2 with a plurality of
transparent surfaces and a plurality of simulative charcoals 4 with
nature charcoal shape, the light-holding charcoals 2 are a
polyhedron with numerous refracting surfaces, the simulative
charcoals 4 are of translucent, the proportion of the simulative
charcoals 4 and the light-holding charcoals 2 is 1:5; a red
transparent cover 7 is disposed on the vessel 1, the cover 7 is of
flat structure; the imaging mechanism 3 is a mat surface structure
disposed on the lower side of the cover 7, the area of the mat
structure matches the area of the cover 7; a charcoal flame bright
section 5 is formed at where the light-holding charcoals 2 are
close to the imaging mechanism 3, a wedge gap around the charcoal
flame bright section is a light-holding section 6.
Preferred Embodiment 2
[0023] As shown in FIG. 3, the vessel 1 is a obliquely disposed
strip-shaped transparent flat box with uniform thickness. A number
of charcoals are disposed in the vessel 1, the charcoals comprises
a number of movable light-holding charcoals 2 with a plurality of
transparent surfaces and a plurality of simulative charcoals 4 with
nature charcoal shape. The proportion of the simulative charcoals 4
and the light-holding charcoals 2 is 1:8. A transparent cover 7 is
disposed on the vessel 1, the cover 7 is of flat structure, the
imaging mechanism 3 is a imaging piece attached on the lower side

flexible charcoal bed comprises a light source, a flame generator 9
and an imaging screen 10. A stereo flexible charcoal bed disposed
at the front bottom of the imaging screen, comprises a vessel 1,
the vessel 1 is a strip-shaped transparent flat box with oblique
structure, the length of the vessel 1 is same with the width of the
image screen; a number of charcoals disposed in the vessel 1
comprising a number of movable light-holding charcoals 2 with a
plurality of transparent surfaces and a plurality of simulative
charcoals 4 with nature charcoal shape, the simulative charcoals 4
are of translucent structure, the proportion of the simulative
charcoals 4 and the light-holding charcoals 2 is 1:2. A red
transparent cover 7 is disposed on the vessel 1, the imaging
mechanism 3 is a mat surface structure disposed on the lower side
of the cover 7. The mat structure is attached on the lower side of
the cover. A bottom flame generator 8 is disposed below the vessel

[0025] When the electric fireplace with a flame curtain is in use,
the flame simulation process of the electric fireplace image screen
is the same with the conventional electric fireplace. When the
light of the light source disposed at the bottom of the electric
fireplace and the bottom flame generator is project to the
light-holding charcoals in the vessel, light at a certain period
and with a certain angle focuses on the image screen. Viewing on
the image screen, a charcoal bright section is formed where the
light-holding charcoals are close to the imaging mechanism, which
is very familiar to sparkling light-sports of burning charcoals.
Because the light from the bottom flame generator is pulsatile and
intermittent, the sparkling light-spots or the burning section are
intermittently bright and shade, which is very similar to burning
and lighting circumstance of real charcoal. Besides, some varying
light feels like being held in the charcoal bed after numbers of
refraction and reflection by the light-holding charcoal. A
light-holding section is formed in the wedge gap around the
charcoal flame bright section which makes people feel like that the
flame stays near the gap space of the charcoals and burns with a
rolling and phantasmagoric configuration, further improves the
reality of the charcoal bed and the visual aesthetic feeling of the
electric fireplace (as shown in FIG. 5). As to the charcoals with
translucent structure disposed in the vessel, they are less
pervious to light and thus look darker on the image screen, and
thereby some charcoals with less burning level appear in the
charcoal bed. Under the projection of the light from the electric
fireplace flame generator and the refracting and reflecting light
from the light-holding charcoals, the brightness at the outline of
the charcoal is greater than the brightness at the center of the
charcoal. Such structure conforms to the structure characteristics
when charcoals or wood start burning, and thus the simulation
effect of the charcoal is obviously improved. The structure that
the charcoal bed with plane shape is disposed in front of the image
screen strengthens the bottom structure of charcoal flame. The
flame structure is more three-dimensional, and the sense of stereo
of the charcoal flame is improved a lot. The transition of
charcoals disposed upper and lower is nature and feels like the
nature configuration of charcoal flame.
[0026] When the shape of charcoal bed needs to be change, the only
thing one need to do is to open the cover plate of the vessel and
stir, add or remove the charcoals disposed in, or change the
proportion of various charcoals to reshape the shape of the
charcoal bed. Not only the shapes of charcoals bed is changed, the
light path of refraction and reflection inside the charcoal bed the
flame bright section and the light-holding section also changes.
Therefore, a brand new appearance presents leads to a completely
different visual effect.
