Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] 1. Field of the Invention

[0002] The present invention relates to a rack and, more particularly, to a wrench rack to support wrenches, such as T-shaped wrenches, hex wrenches, and the like.

[0003] 2. Description of the Related Art

[0004] A conventional wrench rack in accordance with the prior art shown in FIG. 7 comprises a substantially V-shaped mounting seat 91 provided with a plurality of opposite mounting holes 911 and 912 for mounting a plurality of T-shaped wrenches 92. However, each of the mounting holes 911 and 912 is easily widened and enlarged due to frequent frictional contacts of the T-shaped wrenches 92, so that the mounting holes 911 and 912 of the mounting seat 91 cannot hold the T-shaped wrenches 92 closely during a long-term utilization, and the T-shaped wrenches 92 are easily loosened or detached from the mounting holes 911 and 912 of the mounting seat 91. In addition, the mounting seat 91 does not have magnetizing and demagnetizing functions, thereby causing inconvenience to a user when he needs to magnetize or demagnetize each of the wrenches. Further, the mounting seat 91 is often placed on the ground, thereby causing inconvenience to a user when he needs to find the T-shaped wrenches 92.

[0005] Another conventional wrench rack in accordance with the prior art shown in FIG. 8 comprises a mounting seat 93 provided with a plurality of mounting holes 94 for mounting a plurality of hex wrenches 95. However, each of the mounting holes 94 is easily widened and enlarged due to frequent frictional contacts of the hex wrenches 95, so that the mounting holes 94 of the mounting seat 93 cannot hold the hex wrenches 95 closely during a long-term utilization, and the hex wrenches 95 are easily loosened or detached from the mounting holes 94 of the mounting seat 93. In addition, the mounting seat 93 does not have magnetizing and demagnetizing functions, thereby causing inconvenience to a user when he needs to magnetize or demagnetize each of the wrenches. Further, the mounting seat 93 is often placed on the ground, thereby causing inconvenience to a user when he needs to find the T hex wrenches 95.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0021] Referring to the drawings and initially to FIGS. 1-5, a wrench rack in accordance with the preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises a main body 1, a mounting frame 21 mounted on the main body 1, a plurality of locking units 22 mounted on the mounting frame 21, a plurality of wrenches 4 mounted on the mounting frame 21 and detachably locked onto the locking units 22 respectively, and a plurality of magnetically attractive members 3 mounted on the main body 1.

[0022] The mounting frame 21 is mounted on a first side of the main body 1. The mounting frame 21 has a substantially U-shaped profile and has two opposite sides each provided with the locking units 22 for mounting the wrenches 4. The mounting frame 21 has a periphery provided with a plurality of fixing holes 211.

[0023] Each of the locking units 22 includes two opposite flexible clamping plates 221, and each of the wrenches 4 is clamped between the two clamping plates 221 of each of the locking units 22. Each of the locking units 22 has a clamping space 223 defined between the two clamping plates 221 to clamp the respective wrench 4. Each of the two clamping plates 221 of each of the locking units 22 is inclined relative to a surface 210 of the mounting frame 21. The two clamping plates 221 of each of the locking units 22 are inclined toward each other, so that the clamping space 223 of each of the locking units 22 has a tapered shape and has a dimension decreased gradually from the surface 210 of the mounting frame 21 to a distal end 224 of each of the two clamping plates 221 to clamp the respective wrench 4 tightly and closely.

[0024] Each of the magnetically attractive members 3 is mounted on a second side of the main body 1. Preferably, each of the magnetically attractive members 3 is a magnet. Each of the wrenches 4 is a T-shaped wrench.

[0025] The main body 1 has an endless shape. The main body 1 has an end portion provided with an upright handle 11. The handle 11 of the main body 1 has an inner portion provided with a through hole 111 and two opposite magnetic members 112 surrounding the through hole 111. The through hole 111 and the two magnetic members 112 of the main body 1 form a magnetizing portion 110. The handle 11 of the main body 1 has a periphery provided with a demagnetizing portion 113. The demagnetizing portion 113 of the main body 1 is located outside of and aligns with the through hole 111 and one of the two magnetic members 112. The first side of the main body 1 has a periphery provided with a plurality of screw bores 13, and the wrench rack further comprises a plurality of locking screws 14 respectively extending through the fixing holes 211 of the mounting frame 21 and respectively screwed into the screw bores 13 of the main body 1 to attach mounting frame 21 to the main body 1. The second side of the main body 1 has a periphery provided with a plurality of mounting holes 12 for mounting the magnetically attractive members 3 respectively.

[0026] In operation, the main body 1 is attached to a metallic surface on a working place by the magnetically attractive members 3 to facilitate a user identifying and operating the wrench rack. In such a manner, each of the wrenches 4 can be removed from the two clamping plates 221 of each of the locking units 22 for use. At this time, each of the wrenches 4 can be inserted into the through hole 111 of the main body 1 so that each of the wrenches 4 is magnetized by the two magnetic members 112 of the main body 1 to have a magnetic feature so as to magnetically attract a metallic workpiece, such as a screw, bolt and the like. On the contrary, when each of the wrenches 4 touches the demagnetizing portion 113 of the main body 1, each of the wrenches 4 is demagnetized to eliminate its magnetic feature.

[0027] As shown in FIG. 6, each of the wrenches 4a is a hex wrench.

[0028] Accordingly, the clamping space 223 of each of the locking units 22 has a tapered shape to clamp the respective wrench 4, so that each of the wrenches 4 is clamped tightly and closely by the elastic actions of the two clamping plates 221 of each of the locking units 22 so as to facilitate packaging and storage of each of the wrenches 4. In addition, the main body 1 has magnetizing and demagnetizing functions to facilitate a user magnetizing and demagnetizing each of the wrenches 4 and to facilitate the user operating each of the wrenches 4. Further, the main body 1 is attached to a metallic surface on a working place by the magnetically attractive members 3 to facilitate a user identifying and operating the wrench rack.

[0029] Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment(s) as mentioned above, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the scope of the present invention. It is, therefore, contemplated that the appended claim or claims will cover such modifications and variations that fall within the true scope of the invention.
