Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] 1. Field of the Invention

[0002] The present invention relates to a handle, and more particularly to a handle for a brush and that can provide a durable aesthetic appearance.

[0003] 2. Description of Related Art

[0004] A brush, such as a toothbrush is used to clean objects and substantially comprises a handle and a brush head. To improve the aesthetic appearance of a brush, figures are always formed on the handle by printing or painting processes.

[0005] However, the figures on the handle of a conventional brush are easily worn off during a period of use. Therefore, the figures on the handle of the conventional brush are not durable and aesthetic.

[0006] To overcome the shortcomings, the present invention tends to provide a handle for a brush to mitigate or obviate the aforementioned problems.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0007] The main objective of the invention is to provide a handle for a brush and that has a durable and improved aesthetic appearance.

[0008] The handle for a brush has a handle body, multiple embossments and a protective layer. The handle body has a gripped portion and two sides. The embossments are formed respectively on the sides of the gripped portion. The protective layer is transparent and is mounted on the gripped portion to cover at least one of the sides of the gripped portion.

[0009] Other objects, advantages and novel features of the invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0010] FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a brush with a handle in accordance with the present invention;

[0011] FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the brush with the handle in FIG. 1 with the protective layer being removed;

[0012] FIG. 3 is a top view of the handle in FIG. 1;

[0013] FIG. 4 is a cross sectional end view of the handle along the line 4-4 in FIG. 3;

[0014] FIG. 5 is another cross sectional end view of the handle along the line 5-5 in FIG. 3;

[0015] FIG. 6 is a cross sectional side view of the handle along the line 6-6 in FIG. 3; and

[0016] FIG. 7 is a cross sectional side view of another embodiment of a handle in accordance with the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

[0017] With reference to FIGS. 1 to 6, a handle for a brush in accordance with the present invention comprises a handle body (10), multiple embossments (12) and a protective layer (20).

[0018] The handle body (10) has a connection portion and a gripped portion (11) having two sides and two ends. The connection portion is connected to one end of the gripped portion (11) and to a brush head.

[0019] The embossments (12) are integrally formed respectively on and protrude from the sides of the gripped portion (11). In a preferred embodiment, the embossments (12) are formed as bamboo leaf-shaped.

[0020] The protective layer (20) mounted on the gripped portion (11) to cover at least one of the sides of the gripped portion (11). The protective layer (20) is transparent to make the embossments (12) visible. In the first embodiment shown in FIGS. 1 to 6, the protective layer (20) is mounted on both two sides of the gripped portion (11). In the second embodiment shown in FIG. 7, the protective layer (20A) is mounted on a single side of the gripped portion (11). In addition, the embossments (12) near the ends of the gripped portion (11) are exposed from the protective layer (20).

[0021] Because the embossments (12) are formed integrally on the gripped portion (11) and covered by the protective layer (20), the embossments (12) are not worn off even after a long term of use. Consequently, figures implemented by the embossments (12) on the gripped portion (11) are durable, such that useful life of the handle can be prolonged.

[0022] In addition, the embossments (12) can provide a 3-dimensional visible effect through the transparent protective layer (20), so that the aesthetic appearance of the handle is improved.

[0023] Even though numerous characteristics and advantages of the present invention have been set forth in the foregoing description, together with details of the structure and function of the invention, the disclosure is illustrative only, and changes may be made in detail, especially in matters of shape, size, and arrangement of parts within the principles of the invention to the full extent indicated by the broad general meaning of the terms in which the appended claims are expressed.
