ELECTRIC POLISHING GUN
Abstract
An electric polishing gun has a body, a rechargeable battery, a
drive motor, a transmitting device and an actuating device. The
body has a battery seat, a handle section, a circuit board, a
switch, a trigger and a holding cap. The rechargeable battery is
attached detachably to the battery seat of the body to supply
electric power to the electric polishing gun. The drive motor is
mounted in the body, is electrically connected to switch, the
trigger and the rechargeable battery and has a rotating shaft and
multiple engaging teeth. The transmitting device is connected to
the drive motor, is mounted in the holding cap and has a bevel gear
and a mounting bracket. The actuating device is connected
detachably to the transmitting device and has a cover, a drive
shaft, an eccentric segment and an actuating segment.

Claims
1. An electric polishing gun having a body having a top end; a
lower end; a middle; a battery seat being obliquely formed on the
lower end of the body; a handle section being defined in the middle
of the body and having a top end; a lower end; a front; a rear; a
mounting recess being formed in the lower end of the handle section
near the battery seat; and a chamber being formed in the top end of
the handle section and communicating with the mounting recess; a
circuit board being mounted in the mounting recess; a switch being
mounted in the mounting recess and being electrically connected to
the circuit board; a trigger being mounted in the front of the
handle section and contacting with the switch when being pulled;
and a holding cap being connected to the top end of the body and
having a front end; an opening being formed in the front end of the
holding cap; and a rechargeable battery being attached detachably
to the battery seat of the body and electrically connected to the
circuit board to supply electric power to the electric polishing
gun; a drive motor being mounted in the chamber of the body, being
electrically connected to switch, the trigger and the rechargeable
battery and having an upper end; a rotating shaft being rotatably
connected to the upper end of the drive motor and having an
external surface; and a top end; and multiple engaging teeth being
formed around the external surface of the rotating shaft near the
top end of the rotating shaft; a transmitting device being
connected to the drive motor, being mounted in the holding cap of
the body and having a bevel gear being rotatably mounted in the
holding cap from the opening and having a rear side; a center;
multiple engaging teeth being formed on the rear side of the bevel
gear and engaging the engaging teeth of the drive motor; and a
mounting hole being formed through the center of the bevel gear;
and a mounting bracket being mounted on the front end of the
holding cap of the body to hold the bevel gear between the holding
cap and the mounting bracket; and an actuating device being
connected detachably to the transmitting device and having a cover
being mounted around the mounting bracket and communicating with
the opening of the holding cap; a drive shaft being mounted
securely in the bevel gear from the cover and the holding cap and
having an external surface; an engaging end extending through the
cover and the front end of the mounting bracket and being mounted
in the mounting hole of the bevel gear; and a threaded end
extending through the collar of the cover and being mounted in the
cover; an eccentric segment being connected to the threaded end of
the drive shaft; and an actuating segment being connected
detachably to the eccentric segment.
2. The electric polishing gun as claimed in claim 1, wherein the
eccentric segment has a rear eccentric wheel being mounted around
the threaded end of the drive shaft and having a rear side; a front
side; an external surface; and a screwed hole being eccentrically
formed in the rear side of the rear eccentric wheel and being
screwed with the threaded end of the drive shaft; and a front
eccentric wheel being eccentrically formed on the front side of the
rear eccentric wheel and having a front side; an external surface;
and a connecting hole being formed in the front end of the front
eccentric wheel; and the actuating segment has a panel being
connected detachably to the front eccentric wheel and having a rear
side; a front side; and a connecting rod being formed on and
protruding from the rear side of the panel and being mounted in the
connecting hole of the front eccentric wheel; and a polishing
element being mounted around the front side of the panel.
3. The electric polishing gun as claimed in claim 2, wherein the
eccentric segment further has two balancing elements being
respectively mounted on the external surfaces of the eccentric
wheels.
4. The electric polishing gun as claimed in claim 3, wherein the
bevel gear further has a keyhole being formed through the bevel
gear and communicating with the mounting hole; and the drive shaft
further has a key block being formed on and protruding from the
external surface of the drive shaft near the engaging end and
engaging keyhole in the bevel gear to connect the drive shaft with
the bevel gear.
5. The electric polishing gun as claimed in claim 4, wherein the
body further has a speed governor being rotatably mounted in the
rear of the handle section and being electrically connected to the
circuit board to adjust a rotating speed of the drive motor; and
the trigger further has a locking element being movably mounted in
the front of the handle section by a spring to make the trigger
contacting with the front of the handle section when pressing the
trigger.
6. The electric polishing gun as claimed in claim 5, wherein the
body further has an auxiliary handle being mounted on and
protruding from the sidewall of the holding cap.
7. The electric polishing gun as claimed in claim 6, wherein the
holding cap is connected to the top end of the body by multiple
fasteners; and the mounting bracket is mounted on the front end of
the holding cap of the body by multiple fasteners to hold the bevel
gear between the holding cap and the mounting bracket.
8. The electric polishing gun as claimed in claim 7, wherein the
mounting bracket has a front end; and a mounting barrel being
formed on the front end of the mounting bracket; and the cover has
a rear end; and a collar being formed on the rear end of the cover
and being mounted around the mounting barrel of the mounting
bracket.
9. The electric polishing gun as claimed in claim 8, wherein the
body is hollow and is composed of two half-casings.
10. The electric polishing gun as claimed in claim 9, wherein the
polishing element is a sponge.
11. The electric polishing gun as claimed in claim 9, wherein the
polishing element is a wax paper sheet.
12. The electric polishing gun as claimed in claim 1, wherein the
bevel gear further has a keyhole being formed through the bevel
gear and communicating with the mounting hole; and the drive shaft
further has a key block being formed on and protruding from the
external surface of the drive shaft near the engaging end and
engaging keyhole in the bevel gear to connect the drive shaft with
the bevel gear.
13. The electric polishing gun as claimed in claim 1, wherein the
body further has a speed governor being rotatably mounted in the
rear of the handle section and being electrically connected to the
circuit board to adjust a rotating speed of the drive motor; and
the trigger further has a locking element being movably mounted in
the front of the handle section by a spring to make the trigger
contacting with the front of the handle section when pressing the
trigger.
14. The electric polishing gun as claimed in claim 1, wherein the
body further has an auxiliary handle being mounted on and
protruding from the sidewall of the holding cap.
15. The electric polishing gun as claimed in claim 1, wherein the
holding cap is connected to the top end of the body by multiple
fasteners; and the mounting bracket is mounted on the front end of
the holding cap of the body by multiple fasteners to hold the bevel
gear between the holding cap and the mounting bracket.
16. The electric polishing gun as claimed in claim 1, wherein the
mounting bracket has a front end; and a mounting barrel being
formed on the front end of the mounting bracket; and the cover has
a rear end; and a collar being formed on the rear end of the cover
and being mounted around the mounting barrel of the mounting
bracket.
17. The electric polishing gun as claimed in claim 1, wherein the
body is hollow and is composed of two half-casings.
Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0001] 1. Field of the Invention
[0002] The present invention relates to a polishing gun, and more
particularly relates to an electric polishing gun that can be used
conveniently and easily.
[0003] 2. Description of Related Art
[0004] Conventional polishing guns are usually used to grind and
polish surfaces of wood or metal and include manual and automatic
types. An automatic type of conventional polishing gun can be
driven by a pneumatic or electric power. However, the conventional
pneumatic or electric polishing gun has a complicated structure, a
large volume and a heavy weight.
[0005] Furthermore, the conventional pneumatic or electric
polishing gun needs to connect with a power source and a user
cannot bring the conventional pneumatic or electrical polishing gun
to any desired location, and this is inconvenient in use.
[0006] To overcome the shortcomings, the present invention provides
an electric polishing gun to mitigate or obviate the aforementioned
problems.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0007] The main objective of the present invention is to provide an
electric polishing gun that can be used conveniently and
easily.
[0008] The electric polishing gun in accordance with the present
invention has a body, a rechargeable battery, a drive motor, a
transmitting device and an actuating device. The body has a battery
seat, a handle section, a circuit board, a switch, a trigger and a
holding cap. The rechargeable battery is attached detachably to the
battery seat of the body to supply electric power to the electric
polishing gun. The drive motor is mounted in the body, is
electrically connected to switch, the trigger and the rechargeable
battery and has a rotating shaft and multiple engaging teeth. The
transmitting device is connected to the drive motor, is mounted in
the holding cap and has a bevel gear and a mounting bracket. The
actuating device is connected detachably to the transmitting device
and has a cover, a drive shaft, an eccentric segment and an
actuating segment.

invention will become more apparent from the following detailed
description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying
drawings.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
[0015] With reference to FIGS. 1 and 2, an electric polishing gun
in accordance with the present invention comprises a body (10), a
rechargeable battery (20), a drive motor (30), a transmitting
device (40) and an actuating device (50).
[0016] The body (10) is hollow, is implemented with two
half-casings (11) and has a top end, a lower end, a middle, a
battery seat (12), a handle section (13), a circuit board (14), a
switch (15), a speed governor (16), a trigger (17), a holding cap
(18) and an auxiliary handle (19).
[0017] The battery seat (12) is obliquely formed on the lower end
of the body (10).
[0018] The handle section (13) is defined in the middle of the body
(10) and has a top end, a lower end, a front, a rear, a mounting
recess (131) and a chamber (132). The mounting recess (131) is
formed in the lower end of the handle section (13) near the battery
seat (12). The chamber (132) is formed in the top end of the handle
section (13) and communicates with the mounting recess (131).
[0019] The circuit board (14) is mounted in the mounting recess
(131).
[0020] The switch (15) is mounted in the mounting recess (131), is
electrically connected to the circuit board (14) and has a driven
pin extending out of the body (10).
[0021] The speed governor (16) is rotatably mounted in the rear of
the handle section (13) and is electrically connected to the
circuit board (14) to adjust the rotating speed of the drive motor
(30).
[0022] The trigger (17) is mounted pivotally on the front of the
handle section (13) and contacts with the driven pin of the switch
(15) when the trigger (17) being pulled and has a locking element
(171). The locking element (171) is movably mounted in the front of
the handle section (13) by a spring (172) to make the trigger (17)
contacting with the front of the handle section (13) when the user
presses the trigger (17).
[0023] The holding cap (18) is connected to the top end of the body
(10) by multiple fasteners and has a front end, an opening and a
sidewall. The opening is formed in the front end of the holding cap
(18).
[0024] The auxiliary handle (19) is mounted on and protrudes from
the sidewall of the holding cap (18). Then, a user can hold the
electric polishing gun with both hands on the handle section (13)
and the auxiliary handle (19).
[0025] The rechargeable battery (20) is attached detachably to the
battery seat (12) of the body (10) and electrically connected to
the circuit board (14) to supply electric power to the electric
polishing gun.
[0026] The drive motor (30) is mounted in the chamber (14) of the
body (10), is electrically connected to switch (15), the trigger
(17) and the rechargeable battery (20) via the circuit board (14)
and has an upper end, a rotating shaft (31) and multiple engaging
teeth (32).
[0027] The rotating shaft (31) is rotatably connected to the upper
end of the drive motor (30) and has an external surface and a top
end.
[0028] The engaging teeth (32) are formed around the external
surface of the rotating shaft (31) near the top end.
[0029] With reference to FIGS. 3 to 5, the transmitting device (40)
is connected to the drive motor (30), is mounted in the holding cap
(18) of the body (10) and has a bevel gear (41) and a mounting
bracket (42).
[0030] The bevel gear (41) is rotatably mounted in the holding cap
(18) from the opening and has a rear side, a center, multiple
engaging teeth (411), a mounting hole (412) and a keyhole (413).
The engaging teeth (411) are formed on the rear side of the bevel
gear (41) and engage the engaging teeth (32) of the drive motor
(30). The mounting hole (412) is formed through the center of the
bevel gear (41). The keyhole (413) is formed through the bevel gear
(41) and communicates with the mounting hole (412).
[0031] The mounting bracket (42) is mounted on the front end of the
holding cap (18) of the body (10) by multiple fasteners to hold the
bevel gear (41) between the holding cap (18) and the mounting
bracket (42) and has a front end and a mounting barrel (421). The
mounting barrel (421) is formed on the front end of the mounting
bracket (42).
[0032] The actuating device (50) is connected detachably to the
transmitting device (40) and has a cover (51), a drive shaft (52),
an eccentric segment (53) and an actuating segment (54).
[0033] The cover (51) is mounted around the mounting bracket (42),
communicates with the opening of the holding cap (18) and has a
rear end and a collar (511). The collar (511) is formed on the rear
end of the cover (51) and is mounted around the mounting barrel
(421) of the mounting bracket (42).
[0034] The drive shaft (52) is mounted securely in the bevel gear
(41) from the cover (51) and the holding cap (18) and has an
external surface, an engaging end (521), a threaded end (522) and a
key block (523). The engaging end (521) of the drive shaft (52)
extends through the cover (51) and the front end of the mounting
bracket (42) and is mounted in the mounting hole (412) of the bevel
gear (41). The threaded end (522) of the drive shaft (52) extends
through the collar (511) of the cover (51) and is mounted in the
cover (51). The key block (523) is formed on and protrudes from the
external surface of the drive shaft (52) near the engaging end
(521) and engages the keyhole (413) in the bevel gear (41) to
connect the drive shaft (52) with the bevel gear (41).
[0035] The eccentric segment (53) is connected to the drive shaft
(52) and has a rear eccentric wheel (531), a front eccentric wheel
(532) and two balancing elements (535). The rear eccentric wheel
(531) is mounted around the threaded end (522) of the drive shaft
(52) and has a rear side, a front side, an external surface and a
screwed hole (533). The screwed hole (533) is eccentrically formed
in the rear side of the rear eccentric wheel (531) and is screwed
with the threaded end (522) of the drive shaft (52). The front
eccentric wheel (532) is eccentrically formed on the front side of
the rear eccentric wheel (531) and has a front side, an external
surface and a connecting hole (534). The connecting hole (534) is
formed in the front end of the front eccentric wheel (532). The
balancing elements (535) are respectively mounted on the external
surfaces of the eccentric wheels (531, 532).
[0036] The actuating segment (54) is connected detachably to the
eccentric segment (53) and has a panel (541) and a polishing
element (542). The panel (541) is connected detachably to the front
eccentric wheel (532) and has a rear side, a front side and a
connecting rod (543). The connecting rod (543) is formed on and
protrudes from the rear side of the panel (541) and is mounted in
the connecting hole (534) of the front eccentric wheel (532). The
polishing element (542) is mounted around the front side of the
panel (541) and can be a sponge or a wax paper sheet.
[0037] With reference to FIGS. 2 to 4, when a person holds the
handle section (13) of the body (10) and pulls the trigger (17),
the switch (15) and the circuit board (14) will drive the drive
motor (30) to operate. The drive motor (30) is supplied power by
the rechargeable battery (20). When the trigger (15) is pulled, the
rotating shaft (31) of the drive motor (30) will drive the drive
shaft (52) to rotate with the transmission of the engaging teeth
(32, 411) on the rotating shaft (31) and the bevel gear (41). Then,
the eccentric segment (53) and the actuating segment (54) connected
to the threaded end (522) of the drive shaft (52) can be rotated to
grind and polish surfaces of wood or metal with the polishing
element (542) conveniently and easily. Furthermore, with the
rechargeable battery (20), to connect an external power source is
unnecessary, so the electrical polishing gun can be carried to any
desired location for operation and is convenient in use.
[0038] The electric polishing gun as described has the following
advantages.
[0039] 1. The body (10), the rechargeable battery (20), the drive
motor (30), the transmitting device (40) and the actuating device
(50) are composed to form a simplified, a small volume and a
lightweight electric polishing gun.
[0040] 2. The electrical polishing gun can be carried to any
desired location for operation and is convenient in use.
[0041] 3. The polishing gun can easily and conveniently grind and
polish surfaces of wood or metal by pulling the trigger (17).

together with details of the structure and features of the
invention, the disclosure is illustrative only. Changes may be made
in the details, especially in matters of shape, size, and
arrangement of parts within the principles of the invention to the

which the appended claims are expressed.
