Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0001] 1. Field of the Invention
[0002] The present invention relates to a hair barrette, and more
particularly to a hair barrette including a spiral or helical or
coil structure or body member that may be easily and quickly
manufactured and assembled and that may be used for suitably
styling the hair of the user.
[0003] 2. Description of the Prior Art
[0004] Typical hair barrettes comprise a resilient head band and a
resilient coil connected to the resilient head band and adapted to
encircle and support a coiffure.
[0005] For example, U.S. Pat. No. 2,455,715 to Webster discloses
one of the typical ornamental hair barrettes comprising a light
weight and resilient head band curved to fit a transverse contour
of the head near the forward portion thereof, and a resilient coil
hair supporting and retaining band having a spiral shape and
connected to the resilient head band and adapted to encircle and
support a coiffure.
[0006] However, the two ends of the resilient head band and the
resilient coil may not be connected together to form a closed
structure.
[0007] U.S. Pat. No. 5,318,054 to Neilson et al. discloses another
typical spiral spring hair barrette assembly comprising a comb and
a flat spiral spring to which the comb is attached, and the inside
surface of the spiral spring coils around the ponytail when the
barrette spring is coiled.
[0008] However, the two ends of the spiral spring also may not be
connected together to form a closed structure.
[0009] U.S. Pat. No. 5,458,109 to Tu discloses a further typical
hair barrette assembly comprising a two-part construction including
an elongated helical member that is relatively flexible and an
arcuate elongated member that is relatively rigid.
[0010] However, the two elongated members are separated or
disengaged from each other and the two elongated members may be
easily lost after use.
[0011] The present invention has arisen to mitigate and/or obviate
the afore-described disadvantages of the conventional hair
barrettes or hair styling devices.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0012] The primary objective of the present invention is to provide
a hair barrette including a spiral or helical or coil structure or
body member that may be easily and quickly manufactured and
assembled and that may be used for suitably styling the hair of the
user.
[0013] In accordance with one aspect of the invention, there is
provided a hair barrette comprising an elongated coil member
including two ends, and a tubular connecting member for securing
the ends of the elongated coil member together and for forming a
closed loop structure and for allowing the hair barrette to be
easily and quickly attached or engaged onto the head of the user
and for suitably styling the hair of the user.
[0014] The ends of the elongated coil member and the tubular
connecting member are secured together with an adhesive material.
The elongated coil member includes two coil segments connected
together with an elongated wire member and having the ends secured
together with the tubular connecting member for forming the closed
loop structure.
[0015] The tubular connecting member includes a bore formed therein
for receiving the ends of the elongated coil member. The elongated
coil member includes a coiled core member having the ends formed
thereon.
[0016] The coiled core member includes a circular cross section.
The elongated coil member includes an outer sleeve engaged onto an
outer peripheral portion of the coiled core member. The outer
sleeve is made of cloth materials.
[0017] The coiled core member may further include far infrared
powders or materials engaged therein or introduced or added therein
for emitting far infrared rays to facilitate the blood circulation
for the user.
[0018] Further objectives and advantages of the present invention
will become apparent from a careful reading of the detailed
description provided hereinbelow, with appropriate reference to the
accompanying drawings.

formed through the tubular connecting member 20 for receiving the
two ends 11, 12 of the elongated coil member 10 and for securing
the two ends 11, 12 of the elongated coil member 10 together with a
forging process, adhesive materials, or by a welding process for
forming the closed loop structure and for easily attaching onto the
head 80 of the user.
[0029] As shown in FIGS. 2-4, the elongated coil member 10 may
include two or more coil segments 13, 14 having one ends 11, 12
