Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] 1. Field of the Invention

[0002] The present invention relates generally to a container, and more particularly to a foldable basket.

[0003] 2. Description of the Related Art

[0004] Typically, conventional foldable baskets have a plurality of plates for fold or collapse that the basket may be folded to reduce the size for storage.

[0005] U.S. Pat. No. 5,443,173 discloses a collapsible basket, which consists of a plurality of individual plates constructed of iron pieces. The plates are capable of being inter-lockedly assembled to form the basket or being collapsed for storage. However, to assemble or collapse that basket of the patent, user must get well understanding of the inter-lock mechanism. In other words, the basket of the patent has a difficult way of assembly and collapse that user has to learn it for a time. In addition, the plates may be get lost when the basket is collapsed that will cause the basket may not be assembled again.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0006] The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a foldable basket, which has a plurality of members pivoted together for fold and no individual member.

[0007] According to the objective of the present invention, a foldable treadmill includes a rectangular frame a front plate, a rear plate, a left plate, and a right plate, and a bottom plate. The rectangular frame has four frame pieces, and the front, rear, left and right plates have their top edge pivoted on the frame pieces respectively. The bottom plate has an edge pivoted on a bottom edge of the rear plate. The bottom plate has a lock portion on a distal edge thereof to be engaged with a hook portion on a bottom edge of the front plate, and two slots to be engaged with bottom edges of the left plate and the right plate respectively.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0008] FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a preferred embodiment of the present invention;

[0009] FIG. 2 is an enlarged view of FIG. 1, showing the bottom plate;

[0010] FIG. 3 is a first operative diagram of the preferred embodiment of the present invention, showing the separating bottom plate and front plate;

[0011] FIG. 4 is a second operative diagram of the preferred embodiment of the present invention, showing the engaged bottom plate and front plate;

[0012] FIG. 5 is a perspective view of the preferred embodiment of the present invention, showing the basket being assembled; and

[0013] FIG. 6 is an enlarged view of a part of FIG. 5.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0014] As shown in FIG. 1 and FIG. 2, a foldable basket 10 of the preferred embodiment of the present invention includes a rectangular frame 11, four plates 21, and a bottom plate 21.

[0015] The rectangular frame 11 has four frame pieces 12 on four edges thereof.

[0016] The plates 21 include a front plate 211, a rear plate 212, a left plate 213, and a right plate 214. Each of the plates 21 has a tube 22 on a top edge thereof to pivotally engage the frame pieces 12 of the rectangular frame 11 respectively that the plates 21 are perpendicular to the rectangular frame 11. At least a pair of opposite plates 21 have handles 24. On an edge of the front plate 211 has a stop device 26 extending toward the rear plate 212 and touching the left plate 213 and the right plate 214.

[0017] The bottom plate 31 has an edge pivoted on a bottom edge of the rear plate 212. The bottom plate 31 has lock portion 32 on a distal edge thereof. The front plate 211 has a hook portion 28 on a bottom edge thereof to be engaged with the lock portion 32. The bottom plate 21 has two slots 34 on left and right sides and two stop walls 36 projected from outer edges of the slots 34. The left plate 213 and the right plate 214 have their bottom edges engaged with the slots 34 and restricted by the stop walls 36 for not swinging outwardly.

[0018] As shown in FIG. 3, to assemble the basket of the present invention, the left plate 213 and the right plate 214 are swung inwardly first, and then engaging the lock portion 32 of the bottom plate 31 with the hook portion 28 of the front plate 211, as shown in FIG. 4, that the rear plate 212, the bottom plate 31 and the front plate 211 are connected together. And then, as shown in FIG. 5 and FIG. 6, swinging the left plate 213 and the right plate 214 outwardly to engage the bottom edges thereof with the slots 34 of the bottom plate 31 that the basket of the present invention is assembled.

[0019] To fold the basket of the present invention, the left plate 213 and the right plate 214 are swung inwardly to disengage the slots 34 first, and then the bottom plate 31 is swung upwardly to disengage the lock portion 32 with the hook portion 34. Now the plates 21 are disengaged with each other except the bottom plate 31 and the rear plate 212. At last, all of the plates 21 are swung upwardly to stack on the rectangular frame that the fold of the basket of the present invention is completed. The size of the folded basket is small for storage.

[0020] In conclusion, the functions of the present invention include that the basket of the present invention is foldable, and all of the plates 21 are pivoted on the rectangular 22 and the bottom plate 31 is pivoted on the rear plate 212 that all members of the basket of the present invention are connected together, therefore, no individual member will lose to affect the assembly of the basket.
