DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0033] FIG. 1 illustrates a sanitary birthday cake cover and candle system 10 of the present invention. The system 10 includes a sanitary cover 12 which is made in a variety of different sizes and shapes, including but not limited to, triangular, rectangular, square, circle, oval, and oblong. Preferably, the sanitary covers 12 are available in a plurality of different materials, including plastic, glass, Tupperware, Styrofoam, and the like. Additionally, the sanitary covers 12 can be drawn on, colored, painted, sprayed or selectively designed in a variety of different patterns and styles according to the likes of the user. Further, the sanitary covers 12 are available with in different colors, frosted colors, silk screened, or the like, with designs in popular child characters, logos and symbols.

[0034] The sanitary covers 12 include at least one side 14 integrally connected to a top surface 16. The sides 14 have a distal end 17 which includes a fastening lip 18. Preferably, the fastening lip 18 is compatible with a plurality of different serving trays 11 and platters for removably coupling therewith and thereby entirely encompassing contents that are served on said tray 11 and covered by said sanitary cover 12 like a birthday cake, for optimum storage and sanitation. The serving tray 11 is available in a variety of different shapes and sizes for appropriately corresponding with said cover 12. Each tray 11 includes a recessed groove 13 for accepting the fastening lip 18 of the sanitary cover 12 therein.

[0035] The top surface 16 of each sanitary cover 12 includes a plurality of indentations 20. Preferably each indentation 20 is recessed one-quarter inch from the top surface 16. Each indentation 20 includes a bottom surface 22 and at least one upwardly extending wall 24. The system 10 includes a plurality of customized candles 30 used therewith. The candle 30 is positionable within the indentation 20, such that the candle 30 rests against the bottom surface 22 and is prohibited from moving or tilting by the upwardly extending wall 24.

[0036] In the preferred embodiment, the plurality of indentations 20 are star shaped indentations 20A, see FIGS. 3A and 3B. In addition, there is only one upwardly extending infinitely circular wall 24A. The candles 30 used with this embodiment are illustrated in FIG. 2. As shown in FIG. 2, the candles 30 have a top portion 32 and a bottom portion 34, wherein the top portion 32 is substantially cylindrical and the bottom portion 34 is substantially star shaped. The star shaped bottom portion 34 of the candle 30 is therefore inserted and secured within the star shaped indentation 20A of the sanitary cover 12. The upwardly extending infinitely circular wall 24A securely holds the cylindrical top portion 32 of the candle 30 in a vertical position. The five inner points of the star shape indentation 20A of the bottom portion 34 are also adaptable to support a standard cyclindrical candle therein. A user can easily blow out the candles 30 and then easily remove the candles 30 from the indentations 20 without harming the cake, or blowing germs thereon.

[0037] In a second embodiment of the present invention, as illustrated in FIG. 3A, the sanitary cover 12 is preferably circular. At least twenty indentations 20, preferably star shaped, are recessed one-quarter inch from the top surface 16 and are configured in a circular shape on the top surface 16 of the sanitary cover 12. An additional three indentations 20, preferably square in shape are recessed one-quarter inch from the top surface 16 and are centered in the top surface between the circular indentations 20.

[0038] In a third embodiment of the present invention, as illustrated in FIG. 3B, the sanitary cover 12 is preferably square in shape. At least twenty indentations 20, preferably star shaped, are recessed one-quarter inch from the top surface 16 and are configured in a square shape on the top surface 16 of the sanitary cover 12. An additional three indentations 20, preferably square in shape are recessed one-quarter inch from the top surface 16 and are centered in the top surface between the circular indentations 20.

[0039] In conclusion, herein is presented sanitary birthday cake cover and candle system. The invention is illustrated by example in the drawing figures, and throughout the written description. It should be understood that numerous variations are possible, while adhering to the inventive concept. Such variations are contemplated as being a part of the present invention.
