Castaway
Abstract
It is for entertainment. This game is designed for family
outings or backyard fun. Team members compete by casting a plastic
casting plug at a 5-gallon pail for points. If the plug lands in
the pail it scores 3 points, the closest cast to the perimeter of
the pail scores 1 point. A score inside the pail cancels all of the
opponent's points around the pails perimeter. The game is played to
15 or 21 points.

Claims
1. The way this invention works is 5 gallon pails are spaced 30
feet apart, 2 players stand behind each pail, each player has a
teammate at the opposing pail, a player casts a casting plug toward
the opposing pail trying to get it in the pail or as close as he or
she can to the perimeter of the pail. The opposing player at the
same end then tries to cast the plug closer, this continues until a
team reaches the desired score of 15 or 21 and wins the game.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0005] This is a game composed of 2 five-gallon pails, & 2
telescoping Rod & Reel Combos. Opponents use the Rod & Reel
Combos to cast plastic plugs at the pails; the object is to land
the plug in the pail for 3 points or to get closest to the pail for
1 point.
[0006] The first player to reach the score of 15 or 21 (whichever
was decided on beforehand) will win the game.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0014] The present invention relates to Castaway. It is a game much
like Washers or Horse Shoes except it is played with a rod &
reel combo (fishing pole). [0015] (1) 1-Lid for keeping contents
contained. [0016] (2) 2-5 Gallon Pails serving as the target
source. [0017] (3) 2-Metal Pail Positioning Supports for achieving
different leaning positions of the pail. [0018] (4) Plastic Casting
Plugs tied to the end of a rod & reel combo (fishing pole) then
cast towards a 5-gallon pail. [0019] (5) 8-Point Marking Chips used
to spot the landing point of the casting plugs. [0020] (6)
2-Telescoping Rod & Reel Combos (fishing poles) used to cast
the plugs towards the pails. [0021] (7) 1-Measuring Tape used to
determine which team member is closest to the pail. [0022] (8) A
set of rules, illustrations and instructions designed to educate
individuals on the premise of the game
[0023] The team members take turns casting practice plugs at a
5-gallon pail. The closest team member gets the points and this
continues until a desired score of 15 or 21 has been obtained. It
can be set up in different positions, pails upright or slanted with
the use of the supplied positioning supports.
[0024] It may be used for instructional purposes, such as a tool
for teaching a child or an adult how to cast with accuracy.
[0025] Rules and game instructions: {2 to 4 players} [0026] (1)
First set pails approximately 30 feet apart. Adjust pails with
Positioning Supports to desired position. [0027] (2) Extend rods
out to fully extended position and line up eyelets. [0028] (3)
Thread fishing line from reel through eyelets on rod and tie on a
casting plug. Repeat this process with the other rod & reel
combo. [0029] (4) Pair up in teams and pick a colored marking chip,
each member of the same team will have the same colored marking
chip. Once teams are picked flip a coin to see who goes first. Once
the game has started the team with the last point will start off
the next casting round. One member from each team stands behind a
pail and casts toward the opposing pail.
[0030] The cast cannot be manipulated by pressing the release
button in flight.
[0031] Opposing players at each pail must share a rod & reel
combo. If the plug lands in the pail the score is worth 3 points.
The opponent must make it in the pail to cancel out The score or
the 3 points will count on that round. (Any casts near the pail
will not count if your opponent already has a score inside the
pail.)
[0032] It is now the turn of the team members standing at the
opposing pail.
[0033] If the first caster makes it close to the pail and his
opponent makes it closer, then The closer cast scores 1 point. Use
the marking chips to spot the landing point of the casting plugs
and measuring tape to determine whose chip is closest. Keep score
to 15 or 21, Castaway!!!!!!!!
