Description
RELATED APPLICATIONS
[0001] This application claims priority to Taiwan Application
Serial Number 96210675, filed Jun. 29, 2007, which is herein
incorporated by reference.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0002] 1. Field of Invention
[0003] The invention relates to a package box and, in particular,
to a one-sheet folding package box.
[0004] 2. Description of Related Art
[0005] Most mobile electronic products, such as laptop computers or
mobile phones, have many accessory parts, such as the adapter,
power cord, mouse, spare battery, etc. During the transportation,
protecting paper or plastic materials are usually used for
packaging in order to prevent collisions and damages by separating
and supporting articles enclosed therein.
[0006] With reference to FIGS. 1 and 2, an existing package box 100
includes a bottom portion 110, two body portions 120, 130, and two
cover portions 140, 150.
[0007] The bottom portion 110 includes a first side 111 and a
second side 112 of equal length and in parallel, a third side 113
and a fourth side 114 of equal length and in parallel, and two
apertures 115 adjacent to the third and fourth sides 113, 114.
[0008] Each of the body portions 120, 130 includes a first height
part 121, 131, a box part 122, 132, a second height part 123, 133,
and a folding part 124, 134, respectively. The box part 122, 132 is
provided with a long-striped aperture 125, 135 in the vicinity of
the second height part 123, 133. Each of the box parts 122, 132 is
provided with a holding hole 126, 136. A connecting part 127, 137
is formed between the second height part 123, 133 and the folding
part 124, 134 for connecting to the aperture 115.
[0009] The folding part 124 of the box part 122 is divided by the
aperture 125 into a first folding region 124' and a second folding
region 124''. The first folding region 124' is folded inward,
whereas the second folding region 124'' is folded outward. Both of
them touch against the bottom portion 110. The folding part 134 of
the body portion 130 is folded inward.
[0010] The second height part 123 of the body portion 120 and the
second height part 133 of the body portion 130 define a placing
room 160 for placing an article 170 therein.
[0011] In the assembly, the two body portions 120, 130 have a U
shape bending on the bottom portion 110.
[0012] The cover portion 140 includes a height part 141, a cover
part 142, a connecting part 143, and a holding hole 144. The cover
portion 140 is bent into the U shape, so that the hooking part 143
can fit into the apertures 125, 135 of the body portion 120,
thereby covering one part of the body portions 120, 130.
[0013] The cover portion 150 includes a height part 151, a cover
part 152, a connecting part 153, and several holding holes 154. The
body portion 150 is bent into the U shape, so that the hooking part
153 can fit into the apertures 125, 135 of the body portion 120,
thereby covering the other part of the body portions 120, 130 and
the placing room 160. Thus, the article 170 (e.g., battery of a
laptop computer) is packaged therein.
[0014] The existing package box 100 uses the placing room 160 among
the second height part 123, 133 of the body portion and the cover
part 152 of the cover portion 150 to accommodate the article 170.
This achieves the goal of supporting and protecting the article
170. However, if the height of the article 170 is larger than the
second height parts 123, 133 of the body portions 120, 130, the
height of second height parts 123, 133 has to be increased in order
to fit, support and protect a large-size article 170. Thus, the
whole size of the package box has to be changed as well.
[0015] Accordingly, this package box 100 can only be used on
articles 170 of a specific size. Therefore, laptop computer
batteries of different shapes cannot share the same package box. In
this case, the production cost will be higher.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0016] An objective of the invention is to provide a package box to
solve the problem that the existing package box can only
accommodate articles of one size. Without changing the overall
material use, a gap for deformation enables the invention to
accommodate articles of larger sizes. Therefore, the material
stacking can be reduced, thereby increasing the shipping quantity
and lowering the production cost.
[0017] Another objective of the invention is to provide a package
box that utilizes the connection between an anti-break gap and an
aperture of the article to provide the cushion effect and prevent
collisions.
[0018] The disclosed package box includes a bottom portion, two
body portions, and a cover portion.
[0019] The bottom portion includes a first side and a second side
of equal length and in parallel, a third side and a fourth side of
equal length and in parallel, and two apertures adjacent to the
third and fourth sides.
[0020] The body portions are connected to the third and fourth
sides of the bottom portion, respectively. Each body portion
includes a connecting aperture, a through aperture, and an upright
region. Each body portion is bent and fixed to the aperture of the
bottom portion. The through aperture is formed in the upright
region.
[0021] The cover portion includes a first cover and a second cover.
The first cover is connected with the first side of the bottom
portion. It includes a first hooking plate to fit into the
connecting aperture of the body portion. The first cover, the two
opposite connecting apertures, and the body portion define an empty
room. The second cover is connected with the second side of the
bottom portion. It includes a second hooking plate to fit into the
connecting aperture and a gap formed at the center. The second
cover, the two opposite connecting apertures, and the empty room
defines a placing room.
[0022] According to the invention, the gap of the cover portion can
be pushed and deformed appropriately to accommodate an article of a
larger size. It also provides stable support and protection. The
total material is not increased. The invention can hold articles of
different sizes. Therefore, it has the advantages of saving the
material, increasing the shipping quantity in each cargo, and
lowering the cost.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0031] The present invention will be apparent from the following
detailed description, which proceeds with reference to the
accompanying drawings, wherein the same references relate to the
same elements.
[0032] With reference to FIGS. 3 and 4, the package box according
to an embodiment of the invention includes a bottom portion 200,
two body portions 300, 400, one first cover 700, and a second cover
800.
[0033] The bottom portion 200 includes a first side 210 and a
second side 220 of equal length and in parallel, a third side 230
and a fourth side 240 of equal length and in parallel, and two
apertures 250. The apertures 250 are formed in the vicinity of the
third and fourth sides 230, 240.
[0034] The body portions 300, 400 are connected with the third and
fourth sides 230, 240 of the bottom portion 200, respectively. Each
body portion 300, 400 is bent and fixed to the aperture 250 of the
bottom portion 200.
[0035] Each of the body portions 300, 400 includes, respectively, a
first height part 310, 410 in parallel, a body part 320, 420, a
second height part 330, 430, a folding part 340, 440, an upright
region 350, 450, a flat region 360, 460, a connecting aperture 370,
470, and a through aperture 380, 480. A first cover 700, the
apertures 370, 470, and the body portions 300, 400 form an empty
room 500. The upright regions 350, 450 and the flat regions 360,
460 are respectively formed inside the second height parts 330, 430
of the body portions 300, 400 and the body parts 320, 420. The
through apertures 380, 480 are formed in the upright regions 350,
450, respectively. The flat regions 360, 460 touch against the
bottom portion 200. A placing room 501 is further formed between
the through apertures 380. 480 of the body portions 300400 and the
empty room 500 for holding an article 600 therein (see FIGS. 6 and
7). The connecting apertures 370, 470 are long-striped cuts across
the second height parts 330, 430 and the body parts 320, 420,
respectively.
[0036] Each of the borders between the second height parts 330, 430
and the folding parts 340, 440 is provided with a stopping part
331, 431, respectively. The stopping part 331, 431 is fixed to the
aperture 250 of the bottom portion 200. Each of the body parts 320,
420 is provided with a holding hole 321, 421.
[0037] Please refer to FIGS. 4, 5, and 6. The body portion 400
further includes an anti-break gap 490 parallel to the connecting
aperture 470 and connecting to the through aperture 480. When the
article 600 receives an external force, the anti-break gap 490 is
suitably opened to provide cushion effects, preventing the article
600 from being damaged.
[0038] With reference to FIGS. 4 and 5, the first cover 700 is
connected to the first side 210 of the bottom portion 200 and
includes a height part 710, a cover part 720, a first hooking plate
730 in parallel, and a through hole 740. The first hooking plate
730 fits into the connecting apertures 370, 470 of the body
portions 300, 400. The through hole 740 is formed between the first
hooking plate 730 and the cove r part 720. In the packaging state,
one can readily open the first cover 700 from the body portions
300, 400 using the through hole 740.
[0039] The second cover 800 is connected to the second side 220 of
the bottom portion 200 and includes a height part 810, a cover part
820, a second hooking plate 830 in parallel, and several holding
holes 840 formed on the height part 810. The second hooking plate
830 fit into the connecting apertures 370, 470 of the body portions
300, 400. The second cover 800 further includes a gap 850 formed at
the center of the body part 820. The gap 850 has a cut part 851 and
several fork parts 852 extending from both sides of the cut part
851 outwards.
[0040] Please refer to FIGS. 6 and 7. An article 600 is inserted
into the placing room 501. The second cover 800 then covers the
body portions 300, 400 to enclose the article 600 inside the
placing room. If the height of the article 600 is larger than the
height of the height part 810 of the second cover 800, the gap 850
is pushed upward. In this way, the total material of the package
box can be reduced while achieving the same packaging effect. The
article 600 is still supported and protected as desired.
[0041] In comparison with the existing package boxes that can hold
only articles of one size, the disclosed package box can
accommodate articles of different sizes. When the height of the
article 600 is greater than the height of the height part 810 of
the second cover 800, the gap 850 is pushed and suitably deformed
so that the article 600 is stably held inside the accessory box. If
the height of the article 600 is comparable to the height of the
height part 810 of the second cover 800, the gap 850 is not pushed
or deformed. The article is still stably packaged therein.
Therefore, the disclosed package box can be used for articles 600
of different sizes without increasing its material. The size of the
package box is not modified as the article size is changed. This
can reduce the production cost.
[0042] The invention being thus described, it will be obvious that
the same may be varied in many ways. Such variations are not to be
regarded as a departure from the spirit and scope of the invention,
and all such modifications as would be obvious to one skilled in
the art are intended to be included within the scope of the
following claims.
