Arc type baby crib with inclined corner seats
Abstract
An arc type baby crib has four inclined corner seats, top tubes,
four bases, bottom tubes and upright tubes each being pivotally
connected to the inclined corner seat and the base. The top tube is
arced and is concave outward. The inclined corner seat is inclined
by an angle so that a portion of the inclined corner seat pivotally
connected to the upright tube is not perpendicular to a floor. The
upright tube is further arced. An inner wall of the inclined corner
seat is formed with a land track corresponding to a sliding slot of
the upright tube. Thus, the arced top tubes and the arced upright
tubes in the baby crib may be firmly and symmetrically combined
when the upright tubes under the inclined corner seats are not
perpendicular to the arced top tubes.

Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0001] (1) Field of the Invention
[0002] The invention relates in general to a baby crib, and more
particularly to an arc type baby crib having horizontal top tubes
convex outwards, arc type upright tubes and inclined corner seats
so that the inclined corner seat makes the top tube and the upright
tube be firmly and strongly combined together when the upright tube
under the inclined corner seat is not perpendicular to the top tube
in the baby crib.
[0003] (2) Description of the Prior Art
[0004] As shown in FIGS. 1 to 3, a conventional baby crib has four
corner seats 1, each of which is pivotally connected to a
longitudinal top tube 2 and a transversal top tube 3 and is
combined with an upright tube 4. The corner seat 1 has
longitudinal, transversal and vertical directions, which are
perpendicular to one another. So, the baby crib looks glassy and is
not beautiful, and the pivotal connection between the upright tube
4 and the corner seat 1 is made through a single rivet 5, which is
exposed outside and cannot be glorified.
[0005] As shown in FIGS. 2 to 5, another arc type baby crib 10 has
arc type top tubes 11 and 12, which are convex outwards, four or
two bottom tubes 13 which are straight or may be X-shaped tubes,
four corner seats 14 pivotally connected to the top tubes 11 and
the top tubes 12, and four bases 15 pivotally connected to the
bottom tubes 13. An arc type upright tube 16 is disposed between
the corner seat 14 and the base 15, and a joint 17 is formed at the
middle of the top tube 11(12). The joint 17 makes the top tube
11(12) be developed to a horizontal state for positioning, or be
retracted to a V-shaped state. A turning connection shank 18 is
disposed at the middle of the bottom tube 13, and makes the bottom
tube 13 be developed to a horizontal state for positioning, or be
retracted to an inverse-V-shaped state.
[0006] The corner seat 14 has a three-way fitting housing assembly
on an X-Y-Z coordinate distribution. Two horizontal pivoting
housings 141 and 142 are disposed on the X and Y axes, and one
pivoting tube 143 extending vertically and downwards is disposed
along the Z axis. Because the longitudinal top tube 11 and the
transversal top tube 12 are arced, the angles of the pivoting
housings 141 and 142 (X and Y axes) of the corner seat 14 are
greater than 90 degrees so that the arced top tube 11(12) can be
inserted into the pivoting housing 141(142), and the pivoting tube
143 (Z axis) of the corner seat 14 is perpendicular to the
floor.
[0007] Because the pivoting tube 143 (Z axis) of the corner seat 14
is perpendicular to the floor, the upper portion of the upright
tube 16 pivotally connected to the corner seat 14 and the lower
portion of the upright tube 16 pivotally connected to the base 15
have to be straight portions. So, the middle portion of the upright
tube 16, which may be arced, is short so that the upright tube 16
cannot be sufficiently arced. In addition, the upright tube 16 is
pivotally connected to the corner seat 14 through a single rivet,
which is exposed outside and cannot be glorified.
[0008] U.S. Pat. No. D494,393 discloses an arc type baby crib
having longitudinal top tubes and transversal top tubes and a
corner seat. A pivoting tube of the corner seat is perpendicular to
the floor. Although the top tubes are arced, only the shorter top
tubes are convex upwards and the longer top tubes are convex
downwards. Thus, the top tubes are convex upwards and downwards and
the exterior of the baby crib is not symmetrical and cannot be
glorified.
[0009] U.S. Pat. No. D448,218 discloses a baby crib having arced
upright tubes and straight top tubes, so the baby crib cannot be
named as an arc type baby crib.
[0010] U.S. Pat. No. 6,859,957 discloses an arc type baby crib
having four corner seats pivotally connected to straight top tubes,
four bases pivotally connected to straight bottom tubes, and arc
type upright tubes each disposed between the corner seat and the
base. The arc type upright tube is not really arced but has two
straight upper and lower portions to be pivotally connected to the
corner seat. So, the exterior of the baby crib is not
symmetrical.
[0011] The common feature of the arc type baby crib and the typical
baby crib is that the pivoting tube (Z axis) under the corner seat
is perpendicular to the floor, or the angles of two horizontal
pivoting tubes (X and Y axes) of the corner seat of the arc type
baby crib are greater than 90 degrees.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0012] It is therefore an object of the invention to provide an arc
type baby crib including inclined corner seats, horizontal and arc
type top tubes and more arced upright tubes so that the arc type
baby crib is symmetrical and the top tube and the upright tube are
combined with the inclined corner seat symmetrically.
[0013] Another object of the invention is to provide an arc type
baby crib having inclined corner seats, wherein the inclined corner
seat can be combined with an upright tube firmly when the upright
tube under the inclined corner seat is not perpendicular to the top
tube.
[0014] The invention achieves the above-identified object by
providing an arc type baby crib having inclined corner seats. The
baby crib has four inclined corner seats and four horizontal top
tubes, four lower bases and a plurality of horizontal bottom tubes.
An upright tube is pivotally connected to the inclined corner seat
and the base. The inclined corner seat is pivotally connected to
the top tube. The top tube is arced and has a joint at a middle
thereof, and the upright tube is arced. The inclined corner seat is
inclined by an angle toward a center of the baby crib so that a
portion of the inclined corner seat pivotally connected to the
upright tube is not perpendicular to a floor, the top tube has a
straight end portion inserted into and pivotally connected to the
inclined corner seat. An inner wall of the inclined corner seat is
formed with a land track corresponding to a sliding slot of the
upright tube. A more arced upright tube is formed so that the arc
type baby crib can be fabricated according to an inclined angle of
the inclined corner seat. The inclined corner seat makes the top
tube and the upright tube be firmly and strongly combined together
through the land track and the sliding slot when the upright tube
under the inclined corner seat is not perpendicular to the top
tube.
[0015] Further aspects, objects, and desirable features of the
invention will be better understood from the detailed description
and drawings that follow in which various embodiments of the
disclosed invention are illustrated by way of examples.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
[0029] First, an arc type baby crib 20 having inclined corner seats
according to the invention is illustrated in FIGS. 6 to 12. The
baby crib 20 has four inclined corner seats 21 disposed at four
corners of the top of the baby crib 20. The inclined corner seat 21
has two upper pivoting housings 211 and 212 and a lower pivoting
tube 213 to constitute an X-Y-Z coordinate distribution. The lower
pivoting tube 213 (Z axis) is not perpendicular to the floor, and
has a bottom, which is slightly shifted outward so that the
inclined corner seat 21 is inclined by an angle toward a center of
the baby crib 20. Two pivoting housings 211 and 212 are pivotally
connected to a set of top tubes 22 and 23, respectively, so that
the top tubes 22 and 23 are arranged to form two transversal top
tubes 22 and two longitudinal top tubes 23. The transversal and
longitudinal top tubes 22 and 23 are arced. A joint 24 is formed at
a middle of each of the top tubes 22 and 23. The lower pivoting
tube 213 is pivotally connected to an upright tube 25, which is
arced, as shown in FIGS. 8 and 9. An inner wall of the inclined
corner seat 21 is formed with a land track 214 corresponding to a
sliding slot 251 of the upright tube 25. Resisting ends 215
extending outward are disposed on two sides of the land track 214
of the inclined corner seat 21, and pushing ends 252 corresponding
to the sliding slot 251 of the upright tube 25 so that the pushing
end 252 is restricted within the resisting end 215. Two combination
posts 216 penetrate through the inclined corner seat 21 and the
upright tube 25 so that the inner surface of the inclined corner
seat 21 is combined and positioned with the upright tube 25.
[0030] Four bases 26 are provided at the bottom of the baby crib
20, and several bottom tubes 27 including two parallel tubes or
rectangular combination of tubes or X-shaped tubes are provided.
The top of the base 26 is pivotally connected to the upright tube
25 so that the upright tube 25 is pivotally connected to and
between the inclined corner seat 21 and the base 26. The top tube
22(23) has a straight inserting end portion 221(231) pivotally
connected to the inclined corner seat 21. The pivoting tube 213
under the inclined corner seat 21 is not vertical but is
perpendicular to the pivoting housings 211 and 212 of the inclined
corner seat 21. In addition, the transversal top tubes 22 and the
longitudinal top tubes 23 are disposed horizontally and are convex
outwards. The joint 24 makes it possible to develop the top tube
22(23) to a horizontal state for positioning, or to retract the top
tube 22(23) to a V shape. A turning connection shank 28 is disposed
at the middle of the bottom tube 27 so that the bottom tube 27 can
be developed to a horizontal state or may be retracted to an
inverse-V-shape.
[0031] According to the above-mentioned combined structure, the
inclined corner seat for the arc type baby crib according to the
invention is mainly inclined inward so that the upright tube 25 can
be further arced. Also, the land track 214 of the inclined corner
seat 21 is combined with the sliding slot 251 of the upright tube
25 so that the assembled structure is reinforced. Although the
pivoting tube 213 under the inclined corner seat 21 does not extend
in a vertical direction, the assembled structure still can be
reinforced because the land track 214 and the sliding slot 251 can
be combined firmly.
[0032] When the pivoting housings 211 and 212 of the inclined
corner seat 21 are perpendicular to each other, the top tubes 22
and 23 that are convex outwards can be utilized. So, it is
unnecessary to manufacture the inclined corner seat with two
pivoting housings defining an angle larger than 90 degrees. In
addition, the inclined corner seat 21 is inclined inward, and the
top tube 22(23) has the straight inserting end portion 221(231) to
be pivotally connected to the inclined corner seat 21. Thus, when
the baby crib 20 is retracted, the joints 24 of the top tubes 22
and 23 can be rotated so that the top tubes 22 and 23 are bent
downward. Although the top tubes 22 and 23 are convex outwards, the
joints 24 of the top tubes 22 and 23 extend vertically downward
without being shifted inward. So, when the top tubes 22 and 23
having the joints 24 are folded downward, the top tubes 22 and 23
cannot be blocked by the inverse-V-shape bottom tube 27 that is
folded. Thus, the inclined corner seats 21 can be smoothly moved
alongside, as shown in FIGS. 12 and 13, so that the volume of the
retracted or folded baby crib 20 is reduced.
[0033] The arced top tubes 22(23) are disposed horizontally and
symmetrically and are convex outwards. Also, the upright tube 25 is
significantly arced and does not approach an upright tube. The
provision of the inclined corner seat 21 can solve the problem of
the insufficient curvature of the upright tube 25. Although the
inclined corner seat 21 does not extend downward and vertically and
the upper half portion of the upright tube 25 is not an upright
tube, the invention still can reinforce the assembly of the land
track 214 and the sliding slot 251 without loose and shaking
conditions.
[0034] New characteristics and advantages of the invention covered
by this document have been set forth in the foregoing description.
It is to be expressly understood, however, that the drawings are
for the purpose of illustration only and are not intended as a
definition of the limits of the invention. Changes in methods,
shapes, structures or devices may be made in details without
exceeding the scope of the invention by those who are skilled in
the art. The scope of the invention is, of course, defined in the
language in which the appended claims are expressed.
