FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[0002] The invention relates to multi-purpose package means for
different piece goods.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0003] As science and engineering developed over the past century,
so did industries producing consumer goods in large quantities,
which arose and advanced to meet growing demand for these
mass-produced goods. Examples of industries producing consumer
goods in high demand include cars, electronics, electrical
appliances, household durables, electronic recording media,
perfumery, books, and much else.
[0004] Growth in the sales and production volumes of these goods
called for the need to place mass-produced goods in separate
packages to give them an attractive appearance, display the name
and trade mark to the manufacturer, and to induce consumers to buy
them. These criteria and the ease of manufacture have made
cardboard the best choice for packaging mass-produced piece goods.
Familiar examples of these packages are cartons for car spares,
various devices and spares, electronic, electrical, and household
goods, perfumes and toilet water dispensed into glass containers,
and so on.
[0005] Cartons now used to package mass consumption goods have
several disadvantages, in particular: [0006] cartons and the
packaged goods are completely unprotected from moisture; [0007]
handling and transportation have a low efficiency, that is, cartons
are little resistant to pressure and have to be stacked in a
limited number of rows during transportation in a vehicle; and
[0008] the producer's trade mark cannot be protected against
forgery.
[0009] All these disadvantages derive from the properties of the
carton material, which is regular cardboard, and the carton
manufacturing techniques. The obvious suggestion that cardboard be
replaced with plastics is confronted with serious technical,
technological, and economic impediments. The geometry and size of
mass-produced piece goods vary widely, and it is difficult and
economically unjustified and unproductive to fashion a new mold
each time a new item is produced. But for this major obstacle, the
world would have long shifted to individualized plastics packaging.
This is best illustrated by the changeover to plastics bottles to
contain beverages. In the case of beverages, the content takes the
shape of the container, while in our case exactly the opposite is
true.
[0010] A prior art vessel used in this field has a side wall that
is a corrugated pipe or polygonal receptacle that has threaded
truncated cones at the top and bottom, the bottom being concave
(see: RU Patent No. 2,202,501, class B65D1/02; 21/028; 81/36,
published Apr. 20, 2003).
[0011] The prior art vessel is impracticable because it is only
used to be filled with liquids and does not have stiffening ribs
required for packaging various piece products.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0012] The practical effect of the claimed invention is a
multi-purpose package that is devoid of the drawbacks inherent in
the prior art referred to above.
[0013] This effect is achieved by designing a package set that
comprises two lids provided with external and internal threads,
respectively, and at least one tubular element provided with
external and internal threads on the corresponding ends
thereof.
[0014] The lids and tubular elements may have a cylindrical shape,
and at least one threaded joint can be provided during package
manufacture with a lock that is broken on opening.
[0015] The lids and tubular elements can be provided with ribs and
impressed with serial numbers.
DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0016] FIGS. 1 and 2 show an assembled package set, FIG. 2 showing
a longitudinal sectional view of the package elements.
DESCRIPTION OF A PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
[0017] Any plane figure being described by a circle and a
three-dimensional one by a cylinder, this invention relates to the
following prefabricated plastics package design for mass
consumption goods.
[0018] It comprises: [0019] a hollow cylinder 1--a tubular element
substantially provided with threaded necks at both ends thereof,
internal thread on one end and external thread on the other; [0020]
two lids 2 and 3 provided with threaded ends, one lid 2 having
external thread and the other lid 3 having internal thread; [0021]
a design mainly of the threaded part comprises a specific lock
making the connection permanent; [0022] one of the package elements
may be imprinted with a serial number; [0023] the hollow cylinder 1
is, in need, provided with ribs of a certain configuration that
will match similar ribs provided on the lids; and [0024] the hollow
cylinder 1 has a small taper lengthwise.
[0025] Depending on the configuration and height of a product, the
product is to be packed in two lids 2 and 3, or in two lids 2,3 and
one or more cylinders 1, which are joined together by the threads.
The lock provided on the threaded portion makes for reliable
connection of the package components during transportation of the
product and renders the package disposable to protect the
producer's trade mark.
[0026] A serial number provided to protect the producer's trade
mark is useful in tracking the manner in which, the time when, and
the source from where the package was delivered to the producer and
the product was supplied to the retailer. The ribs are provided to
protect the producer's trade mark as well. Decoration techniques
are used to apply the producer's trade mark and serial number. The
cylinder is tapered to make handling during package transportation
more efficient.
INDUSTRIAL APPLICABILITY
[0027] The hollow components of a plastics package are manufactured
by blowing, which is the basic manufacturing technique used to
produce blow-molded plastics packages.
[0028] The claimed invention has the following advantages: [0029]
The multi-purpose plastic package is customized for packing a
variety of mass consumption piece goods of different shapes and
dimensions. It has many advantages over cartons, and gives a higher
level of protection to the manufacturer's trade mark; [0030] The
package is produced on high-speed equipment (a single machine is
capable of producing more than 20,000 packages an hour). A small
workshop using the claimed invention is capable of meeting the
demand for such packages in markets of any size and producing high
economic returns.
