Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] 1. Technical Field of the Invention

[0002] This invention relates to an ornamented button, specially to a separable ornamented button of simple construction with easy attachment and difficult detachment.

[0003] 2. Discussion of the Related Art

[0004] An ornamented button such as cuff buttons should be designed to have many different kinds of ornaments able to be selected according to taste of user, so that the manufacturing cost becomes relatively high.

[0005] Therefore, many methods of making many different kinds of ornamented buttons are proposed in a manner to combine one selected from many top ornamented parts with a regular base body in order to make many kinds of ornamented button at a low cost and with ease.

[0006] For example, one of proposed ornamented buttons comprises a top part, a base part and a ring for strings wherein the ring for strings is inserted into the base part and fixed on the top part at the backside thereof (Japanese Tokkaihei 11-225807 and 11-235207).

[0007] In an another case, a ring for strings is formed on a backside of a top part and is inserted into a base part and fixed thereto by stopper and so on (Japanese Patent No. 2724304).

[0008] In a further case, a top part is provided at a backside with a concave and a groove at an inside thereof while a plate base part is provided with string holes wherein just only a periphery edge of the base plate is engaged with an inside groove of the top part (Japanese Tokkaihei 10-113204)

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0009] In cases of the above references 1 to 3, the ring for strings is protruded at the backside of the base part, so that it is not easy to attach the button to the clothes in a predetermined direction.

[0010] In case of reference 4, there is no attachment problem caused by the ring for strings, but engagement between the periphery edge of the base plate and the groove of the top part is not so strong that the top part is sometimes lost accidentally.

[0011] Considering the above problems, the invention is to solve the problems and provide a simple structure ornamented button with design changeability according to the user taste, position and opportunity and also uneasy detaching characteristic in spite of easy attaching.

[0012] According to a first aspect of the invention, there is provided a separable ornamented button which comprises two parts engaged with each other into one body, one being a top ornamented part and the other a bottom part provided with string holes, wherein the top part comprises an ornamented center portion and a periphery portion forming a receiving concave at the backside thereof having a rocking groove or protrusion at an inside sidewall while the bottom part comprises a center flat portion provided with string holes and a periphery ring sleeve having a protrusion or groove at an outside sidewall, when the ornamented top part is engaged with the bottom part, the periphery ring (short) sleeve wall of the bottom part getting a tight contact to a periphery wall of the receiving concave and the rocking groove or protrusion of the ring sleeve of the bottom part being engaged with the corresponding protrusion and groove of the receiving concave of the top part.

[0013] Furthermore, according to a second aspect of the invention, there is also provided a separable ornamented button which comprises two parts engaged with each other into one body, one being an ornamented top part and the other a bottom part provided with string holes, wherein the ornamented top part comprises an ornamented center portion and a periphery ring (short) sleeve provided with a rocking protrusion or groove at an outside sidewall while the bottom part comprises a flat center portion provided with string holes and a periphery cover portion having a receiving concave provided with a rocking groove or protrusion at an inside sidewall when the ornamented top part is engaged into the bottom part, the periphery ring sleeve wall of the top ornamented part getting a tight contact to a periphery wall of the receiving space and the rocking groove or protrusion of the ring sleeve of the top ornamented part being engaged with the corresponding protrusion and groove of the receiving concave of the bottom part.

[0014] According to the present invention, the top ornamented part is tightly attached to the button body with a broader contacting area of both the sidewalls and an engaging area between the protrusion and the groove, so that the ornamented part cannot be detached with ease even if more or less impact is applied to the top ornamented part.

[0015] Further, in a preferred embodiment of the ornamented button, the ring sleeve of the bottom part or the top part has a spread wide end provided with sufficient end area abutting to an area of the receiving concave, so that the ornamented part cannot be unexpectedly detached or removed from the bottom body fixed on the clothes.

[0016] Furthermore, the bottom part with string holes can be easily sewed on the clothes and then the top ornamented part can be engaged with the fixed bottom part, so that we can select a preferred top ornamented part from many and attach the selected top ornamented part according to our taste or our request with ease.

[0017] If we can use a regular one for the button body and select a preferred one from many top ornamented parts, we can enjoy a variety kind of the buttons by our preferred combination of the top ornamented part and the regular body at a lower cost.

[0018] In order to prevent from loss of the top ornamented part by accident, it is preferred that the broad engaging area between the top part and the bottom is formed.

[0019] In such cases, when the two parts are engaged, the receiving concave of the top ornamented part engaged in the sleeve periphery of the bottom body will have a tightly engaging area. Contrary to this, in case of a sleeve periphery of the top ornamented part engaged in a receiving concave of the bottom body, they will have a tightly engaging area.

[0020] In a preferred embodiment, the top ornamented part and the bottom part can be made of any materials such as metal, plastics, glasses and composite materials.
