Dual hip cell phone and CD player pocket
Abstract
The nature of this invention is a pocket for a cell phone/s or
portable CD player that fits snug against the hip, has a secure
closure and is quickly accessible. Loss or breakage of the delicate
plastic clip that hold the cell phones in place will not occur.
Millions of people walk around with their CD player in their hand,
which is uncomfortable, inconvenient and dangerous. The pocket
allows a music device to be carried and used without implementing
the hands when listening to music. The earplug connection is at a
perfect relaxed distance from the user's ear/s. This invention will
become a standard for everyone in the world who uses cell phones
and portable CD players and wants the convenience of a pocket
positioned on the hip more easily accessible to the hands, eyes and
ears. No pockets currently exist like this type located on the hip
area of clothing. The two cell phone pockets (one on each hip) for
those who need two cell phones or one pocket can be used for a
small digital music player when not using both pockets for cell
phones. This shows how versatile the pocket can be. The two cell
phone pockets can be made for use on the same side of the pants
(one cell pocket at the hip and one cell pocket just above the
knee), which allows users quick access while sitting down on a bus,
car, plane or train. If someone is sitting next to you, you can
switch your cell from your hip are to the pocket just above the
knee and make access more comfortable for you and you will not
disturb the person next to you. The front cell pocket can be
manufactured to set on the front thigh area as a top cell phone
pocket. The pocket has dual functions and can also be used as a
pager pocket. It can be manufactured on both sides of right and
left top thigh area. The walkie-talkie pocket is the larger version
of the cell phone pocket and is to be used by maintenance workers,
police and security guards with larger radios and a taller antenna.
No pocket exists to accommodate that size electronic and would also
be located on the hip and there would no longer be a need for a
belt or clip on the radio. The cell phone and CD player pocket is
unisex on slacks, jeans and pants. Also, it will be on dresses,
skirts, jackets and coats located on the hip and on the top front
chest area on coats, shirts and blouses.

Description
[0001] The process in making the pockets: First a pattern is made,
then the manufacturer cuts and places pockets on hip area to be
sewn into place.
[0002] Use of cell phone pocket: Just lift the hook and loop
closure when cell phone rings and put back snug in pocket when
finished talking. The length and width fits all standard and small
cell phones. The portable CD player pocket fits all standard
portable CD players.
[0003] Use of portable CD player pocket: No need to hand carry the
player. It fits snug in the pocket on the hip for easy access to
listen to music by earphones. The top closure is triangular for
cell phone and portable CD player pocket with hook and loop or snap
button closure, the bottom is rectangular on both styles and both
styles have inside battery storage pockets.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0004] This invention relates to a garment such as jeans, slacks,
pants, trousers, shirts, coats or dresses or the like with
pockets.
[0005] In such garments there are generally front and/or back
pockets into which the owner of a cell phone inserts it in order to
be able to make or receive calls at any time. Normally, the back
and front pockets are very tight fitting against the garment
causing discomfort when carrying a cell phone in them. Also, the
current pockets available do not have a closure to ensure the
electronic device does not fall from the pocket when bending,
walking, running or the like. There are currently no pockets
manufactured today large and roomy enough to carry a portable CD
player that are located in the hip area of a trouser garment or the
like for easy access and/or use.
BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0006] The Dual Hip Cell Phone and CD Player Pocket solves all
previously existing problems of cell phone loss, cell phone plastic
clip breakage, and wearing pants with a belt to hold a cell phone
w/clip. A belt and/or clip is no longer needed with the Dual Hip
Cell Phone and CD Player Pocket. The pocket is manufactured on the
hip of apparel and is the correct size for all standard and small
cell phones or portable CD players. The pocket has a hook and loop
or snap button closure on the flap to keep the cell phone or CD
player safe within the pocket. Portable CD players can be carried
in the Dual Hip Cell Phone and CD Player Pocket and listened to via
earphones. No need to carry the CD player in hand. The Dual Hip
Cell Phone and CD Player Pocket provides a snug but comfortable
place to carry a cell phone or portable CD player. It can also be
used for a pager, walkie-talkie, small digital music player or
small portable handheld games. It is transitional in that it fits
on top area of thigh, hip and knee area. Also appropriate for the
upper chest area on shirts, blouses and coats. It is very versatile
and is why it is called dual and can be manufactured on all of
these areas. It can be used for more than one purpose. Pockets have
an internal battery storage pocket.

and on lower thigh area just above the knee for more comfortable
access while sitting on a bus, car, plane or train as a
passenger.
[0020] FIG. 12. shows front view of cell phone pocket located at
the top thigh area of the leg for quick access. Shows versatility
of cell phone pocket that are to be worn. Can also be manufactured
with two pockets on each side. It will be used for pagers and small
digital music players.
[0021] The pockets hold the electronic item snug against the hip.
Bulging cell phones resulting in loss or broken clips will no
longer be a problem. A portable CD player will not have to be hand
carried when used; earplugs will reach comfortably from the player
to ears. The DUAL HIP CELL PHONE AND CD PLAYER POCKET allows quick
access to the electronic item/s by the owner.
