Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0001] (a) Field of the Invention
[0002] The present invention is related to a suitcase with its
handle containing a fastening hook, and more particularly, to a
suitcase allowing extra carry-on bag or similar object to be placed
on a top of the suitcase and secured with a fastening rope to
engage the hook.
[0003] (b) Description of the Prior Art
[0004] A suitcase of the prior art is usually provided on its back
a handle, and the handle is made retractable in the main structure
of the suitcase as desired for carrying or towing the suitcase as
desired by a user. A traveler often has extra carry-on bag or
similar object on the road and he may put it on top of the suitcase
and rest on an extended frame of the handle while he/she is towing
the suitcase for labor saving. It saves efforts but the carry-on
bag or similar object can easily drop or get lost particularly when
towing on a rough surface or among crowded people. A rope may
prevent it, but it appears to be very troublesome and inconvenient
since the user has to consume much time to fasten the carry-on bag
or similar object with the rope. Therefore, the present invention
discloses a suitcase with its handle adapted with a hook and a
fastening rope to easily secure carry-on bag or similar object on
top of the suitcase.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0005] The primary purpose of the present invention is to provide a
suitcase adapted with a retractable frame attached to its handle,
and the handle is further provided with a hook to engage a rope to
firmly fasten a carry-on bag or similar object on top of the
suitcase. To achieve the purpose, a groove is provided on the
handle. A hook projecting from the groove is concealed in the
handle to prevent compromising the holding of the handle by a user.
The rope is disposed to the body of the suitcase and is made of a
material of high elasticity to allow it to be easily pulled up to
engage with the hook on the handle. Accordingly, the carry-on bag
or similar object is put on top of the suitcase and secured with
the rope before engaging the rope to the hook of the handle. The
user can easily and firmly secure the carry-on bag or similar
object while controlling the rope to prevent it from being
disengaged since the end of the rope and the hook are concealed in
the handle without interfering the holding or towing action of the
suitcase by the user.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
[0016] Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, a suitcase with its handle
containing a fastening hook allows a user to stack an object 4 upon
top on a body 1 of the suitcase for the object 4 to rest against a
handle 2 as pulled up from a towing frame attached to the suitcase;
and a hook 22 is disposed to the handle 2 to fasten the object 4 to
the suitcase by having a rope 3 disposed on the body 1 of the
suitcase to engage with the hook 22.
[0017] Wherein, the body 1 of the suitcase on its front is provided
with a front cover 11 that can be lifted to open. Multiple, and
usually two retractable rods 12 are internally disposed in the back
of the body 1 of the suitcase connected at their tops to a handle
2. Two casters 13 are disposed at the bottom of the body 1 of the
suitcase to facilitate towing the suitcase. The handle 2 as
illustrated in FIGS. 3, 4, and 5 relates to a rod incorporated
between those two retractable rods 12 with their tops. A lateral
groove 21 is provided in a front 23 of the handle 2 and the hook 22
protrudes from the bottom in the groove 21. The hook 22 is engaged
to a rope 3. As illustrated in FIGS. 2 and 5, the rope 3 made of a
material of high elasticity has its both ends 31 incorporated into
the body 1 of the suitcase. A mid section 32 of the rope 3 is drawn
up to engage with the hook 22 of the handle 2 for fastening the
object 4 to the suitcase.
[0018] Now referring to FIGS. 1 and 5 for a method and status of
applying the present invention, the user puts the object 4, a
carry-on bag as illustrated, upon the top of the body 1 of the
suitcase and resting on both retractable rods 12; pulls up the mid
section 32 of the rope 3 to go around the object 4 before having
the mid section 32 of the rope 3 to engage the hook 22 in the
groove 21 of the handle 2 to fasten the object 4 by taking
advantage of the elasticity of the rope 3 in an easy way. Since
both of the hook 22 and the rope are received and concealed in the
handle 2, the user is able to control the rope 3 to prevent from
falling off without interfering with the holding and towing of the
suitcase by the user to achieve convenient and practical
results.
[0019] As illustrated in FIG. 6, the hook 22 is provided on the top
of the groove 21 so to go around the rope 3 before engaging the
rope 3 with the hook 22; or alternatively, as illustrated in FIGS.
7 and 8, the groove 21 is disposed in the back 24 of the handle 2
and the hook 22 is provided on the top or the bottom of the groove
21 to achieve the similar results of having the rope 3 to engage
with the hook.
[0020] To incorporate the rope 3 to the interior of the body 1 of
the suitcase as illustrated in FIG. 9, an accommodation bag 14 is
disposed on the front cover 11; a zipper 15 is provided on an
opening of the accommodation bag 14; and both ends 31 of the rope 3
are secured or stored in the accommodation bag 14 for the user to
fetch the rope 3 at any time as desired. As illustrated in FIG. 10,
the object 4 can be fastened in position to prevent easy falling
off or getting lost. Two holes 16 are provided at where close to
the top of the front cover 11; both ends 31 of the rope 3
respectively pass through both holes 16 to be secured to where
close to the bottom on both sides in the front cover 11; and two
resilient locating member 17 are respectively disposed on both
inner sides of the front cover 11 where mid section 32 of the rope
3 are secured to cover up the rope 3 for keeping the rope 3 flushed
in storage while leaving the mid section 32 of the rope 3 out of
the front cover 11. The mid section 32 of the rope 3 naturally
restraints flushed on the surface of the font cover 11 for the user
to pull the mid section 32 of the rope 3 for use.
