Beach towel with arm slots

Abstract

A beach towel with two uniquely positioned arm slots allowing a persons arms to pass though the arm slots enabling one to wear the beach towel on his or her shoulders and back as a cover-up. Also, the beach towel will have the same practical qualities such as moisture absorption, ability to sit upon, lay upon and so on one would expects from a traditional beach towel with the advantage of using as a cover-up if one so desires.

Claims



1. A traditional rectangular beach towel comprising a towel with two (2) arm slots positioned in the towel in such a manner as to allow a person to wear the towel as a cover-up by inserting the wearer's arms though the two (2) arm slots, or to use in an traditional sense to dry off with, lying upon, sitting on and so on.

2. The two (2) arm slots in claim 1. will be sewn or stitched around the arm slots in the beach towel in a manner as to not change the function or usability as a traditional beach towel.

3. The item described in claim 1. can function as a method of drying off after a swim or dip in water.

4. The item described in claim 1. comprising a protective ground cover which enables one to lie, sit, recline and so forth there upon without contact with surrounding ground surfaces.

5. The item described in claim 1. comprising a protective cover-up from the elements such as wind and the sun.

6. The two (2) arm slots in claim 1. will be positioned in such a manner enabling one to easily put on and take off the item without the interference of snaps, ropes, fasteners and the alike.

7. The item described in claim 1. will be reversible, as both sides of the beach towel with the two (2) arm slots will be identical enabling the wearer to use the items functions, cover-up, drying off, sitting upon, and so on from either side.

8. The beach towel with two (2) arm slots being comprised of a terry cloth or like material.

9. The item described in claim 1. can be worn as a cover-up by inserting one's arms through the two (2) arm slots or not, thus still achieving protection from the wind, sun and other such elements.

10. The item described in claim 1. will basically be a fold and go item enabling the user the ease of carrying a multi-functional item.

11. The item described in claim 1. when used as a cover-up with one's arms through the two inclined (2) arm slots will keep the beach towel form sliding or falling off the wearers shoulders and back while in use such as sitting, walking, eating and so on.
Description



[0001] Referring to the drawings in greater detail, the drawing in FIG. 1. shows the beach towel (1) with the arm slots (2) positioned in the beach towel. The arm slots (2) are positioned approximately 21'' inches apart at the top (3) part of the slot and approximately 9'' inches from the top edge (5) of the beach towel (1). The arm slots (2) are positioned approximately 45'' inches apart at the bottom (6) part of the slots and approximately 20'' from the top (5) of the beach towel. The top edge (5) of the beach towel is where the arm slots (2) are the closest in spacing. The arm slots (2) will be approximately 16'' long and approximately 0.25'' wide. The arm slots (2) will be stitched (8) in such a manner to follow the contour of the arm slots aforementioned dimensions. The arm slots (2) are position at an approximate 45 degrees from the sides (7) of the beach towel (1). The top (3) part of the arm slots (2) are approximately 25'' from the sides (7) of the beach towel (1). The bottom (6) of the arm slots (2) are approximately 13'' inches from the sides (7) of the beach towel (1).

[0005] The present invention as described above having a multitude of uses and specifications is not limited to the inventions exact construction and function as for changes or modification may occur falling within the scope of the invention and be obvious to those skilled in the art.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0006] The invention is beach towel comprising of two uniquely positioned arm slots allowing the user the option of the towel being worn as a cover-up over ones shoulders and back with his or her arms through the arm slots or the traditional beach towel functions such as lying upon, drying off, sitting upon and so on. The two uniquely positioned arm slots are located in the beach towel in such a manner as to allow the user to put on and take off the cover-up feature with relative ease as no straps, ropes, buttons, fasteners, and so on will not hindering that operation.

[0007] The beach towel and cover-up combination is also reversible as both sides are identical. The item will be made from terry cloth or a similar material providing a soft moisturizer absorbing quality and element protection from the wind and sun one should expect from a cover-up.

[0008] The beach towel and cover-up combination can also be worn over the user shoulders, back and arms as a traditional beach towel without using the arm slots if one chooses to so.

[0009] It is also the object of this invention to provide the user with a single item to bring to a beach, shore, pool and so on, thus comprising a multitude of functions in one item.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0010] It is known in prior art that beach towels have had openings for which one might use to place over his or her head and shoulders to be used as a cover-up, but none has displayed the original concept of the beach towels comprising of a traditional rectangular shape and incorporating the arm slots featured in this invention, therefore enabling a person to use the beach towel as a cover-up or in other functions such as drying off with, sitting upon, lying upon and so on.

[0011] Current products known in prior that are available often require one to reconfigure, assemble, fasten or manipulate the item in order to function as a cover-up and alternately so the cover-up has to be again adjusted to function as a beach towel. In this respect, the beach towel with arm slots departs from other designs and concepts known in prior art by offering a beach towel traditional qualities such as drying off with, sitting upon, lying upon and so on and the ability to function as a cover-up.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[0012] This invention generally relates to beach towels, comprising a beach towel and cover-up combination whereas the beach towel incorporates two unique arm arm slots enabling the user the option of placing ones arms through the slots and wearing the beach towel as a cover-up over ones shoulders and back or the traditional and practical uses a beach towel processes such as absorbing moisture, lying upon, sitting on, and so on, thus providing a multi-functional item for the user.
