Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] 1. Field of the Invention

[0002] The present invention relates to a jewelry box and, more particularly, to a jewelry box for storing jewelry, such as rings, earrings, necklaces and the like.

[0005] In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a jewelry box, comprising a base, a top cover pivotally mounted on the base, and a video/audio player mounted in the top cover.

[0006] The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a jewelry box having video and audio playing functions.

[0007] Another objective of the present invention is to provide a jewelry box that has a storage function and a video/audio playing function so as to attract the consumer's interest, thereby enhancing the amusement effect of the jewelry box.

[0008] A further objective of the present invention is to provide a jewelry box, wherein the user can hear the sound from the video/audio player by the horns or the earphone, thereby enhancing the versatility of the jewelry box, and thereby facilitating the user operating the video/audio player of the jewelry box.

[0009] Further benefits and advantages of the present invention will become apparent after a careful reading of the detailed description with appropriate reference to the accompanying drawings.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWING(S)

[0010] FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a jewelry box in accordance with the preferred embodiment of the present invention.

[0011] FIG. 2 is a partially exploded perspective view of the jewelry box as shown in FIG. 1.

[0012] FIG. 3 is a schematic operational view of the jewelry box as shown in FIG. 1 in use.

[0013] FIG. 4 is a schematic operational view of the jewelry box as shown in FIG. 1 in use.

[0014] FIG. 5 is a perspective view of a conventional jewelry box in accordance with the prior art.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0015] Referring to the drawings and initially to FIGS. 1 and 2, a jewelry box 4 in accordance with the preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises a base 41, a soft pad 43 mounted in the base 41 and formed with a receiving hole 44 to receive a ring 5, a top cover 42 pivotally mounted on the base 41, and a video/audio player 3 mounted in the top cover 42.

[0016] The video/audio player 3 is movable with the top cover 42 and is encompassed by the base 41 and the top cover 42. The video/audio player 3 contains a memory (not shown) to store video/audio information therein. The video/audio player 3 has a front face provided with a screen 31 and a plurality of push buttons 32 and 320 located beside the screen 31. The upper and lower push buttons 32 function as the volume and search buttons, wherein the upper and lower push buttons 32 are pressed lightly to perform the searching action of the video/audio player 3 and are pressed during a longer time to control the volume of the video/audio player 3. The mediate push button 320 function as the play and stop button. The video/audio player 3 has a side face provided with a power switch 33, an earphone hole 34 and a USB (universal serial bus) 35.

[0017] The base 41 has an inner wall provided with a plurality of horns 45 and an outer wall provided with a horn slot 46 connected to the horns 45 by connecting wires (not shown). The base 41 has a top wall provided with a retractable contact switch 47 pressed by the front face of the video/audio player 3 when the top cover 42 covers the base 41. The contact switch 47 is connected to the horns 45 by connecting wires (not shown).

[0018] The top cover 42 has a peripheral wall formed with a plurality of through holes 420 aligning with the power switch 33, the earphone hole 34 and the USB 35 of the video/audio player 3 respectively.

[0019] The jewelry box 4 further comprises a plurality of removable dust proof jackets 6 mounted on the horn slot 46 of the base 41 and the through holes 420 of the top cover 42 respectively.

[0020] When in use, referring to FIG. 3 with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2, an earphone 7 has a first end inserted into a user's one ear and a second end inserted through the respective through hole 420 of the top cover 42 into the earphone hole 34 of the video/audio player 3, so that the user can hear the sound from the video/audio player 3 after the power switch 33 of the video/audio player 3 is turned on.

[0021] Alternatively, referring to FIG. 4 with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2, a connecting line 8 has a first end inserted into the horn slot 46 of the base 41 and a second end inserted through the respective through hole 420 of the top cover 42 into the earphone hole 34 of the video/audio player 3. Then, the power switch 33 of the video/audio player 3 is turned on. Thus, the contact switch 47 is released from the front face of the video/audio player 3 after the top cover 42 is removed from the base 41 so that the contact switch 47 is triggered to conduct the horns 45 so as to play the sound from the video/audio player 3.

[0022] Accordingly, the jewelry box 4 has a storage function and a video/audio playing function so as to attract the consumer's interest, thereby enhancing the amusement effect of the jewelry box 4. In addition, the user can hear the sound from the video/audio player 3 by the horns 45 or the earphone 7, thereby enhancing the versatility of the jewelry box 4, and thereby facilitating the user operating the video/audio player 3 of the jewelry box 4.

[0023] Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment(s) as mentioned above, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the scope of the present invention. It is, therefore, contemplated that the appended claim or claims will cover such modifications and variations that fall within the true scope of the invention.
